SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
The camera cut to various shots around Sydney, Australia; it was the location of the latest big Proving Ground event ‘Opportunity Knocks’ and the main event in question was a 20 person over-the-top rope Battle Royal for a shot at the Grand Championship. One of the participants was already in Sydney, well before the show was actually going ahead, it was Victoria McKenzie, the 25 year old Englishwoman was just taking in the sights and sounds of Sydney.
VICTORA: G’Day, mates, it is I, Victoria McKenzie, the Biggest, Baddest and Most Beautiful Brit in the Building and I’m just enjoying the beautiful sites of Sydney. I mean, I would’ve liked the show to have been held in Victoria because, well, they’ve obviously got some amazing taste to name it after me...but also because I’ve heard that nothing much happens there and the people of Victoria deserve someone who can inspire them, who better than Queen Victoria herself?
Victoria laughed arrogantly and continued her ramblings, the camera then cutting to the young, plus sized woman in Bondi Beach, she was now in a union jack swimsuit with a pair of sunglasses covering her eyes; the Geordie was clearly just enjoying herself and acting like a total tourist.
VICTORIA: So, I suppose that you’re all wondering why I’m already here in Sydney, Australia? I mean, I did the same thing in South America when I defeated Jordan Bishop in my Proving Ground debut match? But here’s the thing...Australia is an isolated part of the world, the flights here are fucking insane, it leaves you jetlagged, tired and unfocused and the last thing I want to be before a match where the winner gets a shot at the Grand Championship is to not be at the top of my game. But I also am just seeing the sights, I’ve taken all the selfies and bragged about it to get all my haters pissed off...but that doesn’t mean that I’m not taking this seriously.
The camera cut to shots of Vic relaxing on Bondi Beach, taking selfies outside of Sydney Opera House and going to parties, drinking and dancing in Sydney bars and nightclubs before splicing those with shots of her working out, either working on a punching bag with kicks and hard strikes, doing one armed push-ups and running through the streets of an early morning Sydney. The voice over of Victoria continued over shots of her both relaxing and partying as well as her training.
VICTORIA: I’m getting all of this out of my system, I’m getting all the selfies, all the sight-seeing, all the lazing around on the beach, all of the drinking and the dancing and I’m getting that out of the way with before the Opportunity Knocks battle royale. Because now I’m focused on the match, because I can’t let this opportunity slip through my fingers, I mean, this is my second Proving Ground match and I have a chance to get a shot at the Grand Championship. This is a chance for me to show people that I’m not a fluke when I defeated Jordan Bishop...this is not going to be an easy match, I’ve got to have eyes in the back of my head and, in a way, I’m looking forward to this kind of bonkers atmosphere of a match.
The promo cut to a timer counting down from 100, with the voice over from Victoria talking as the timer counted down and down.
VICTORIA: So, this is a major opportunity for me, a Royal Opportunity, I guess you could say? Well, I’m rested, I’ve gotten all the partying out of my system and now I’m focused on this one match. This is going to be a chance for me to prove myself to all of my doubters who thought that my victory over Jordan Bishop was beginners luck, so while everyone else is running around like a headless chicken trying to get flights to Sydney, they’ll be tired and jetlagged and wanting to do all this tourist shit; I’ve already done that and, now, I’m feeling so good that I think I can find out my number, we’ll find this out at the same time.
Victoria’s smug tone evaporated into genuine worry when the number ‘8’ showed up on the screen as a record scratched in the background, the once smug tone of Victoria now sounding like she was much more concerned.
VICTORIA: WHAT!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? NUMBER 8?!?! Oh my god! - I mean...yeah, I mean, I can totally win from number 8, it doesn’t matter if it was 1 or number 20...Yeah, Ms. Mainstream has got this, guys...I guess I just gotta work on my cardio, that’s all.
That was the final line as the camera cut to black.
