âYou are so fuckedâŠâ
Hadlee said to the guy as she reached in and began to pull him to the edge of the vanâs side door and rolled him onto the cart that she had grabbed.
âWhatâs she gonna do? Preen me to death? Sheâs a prissy cunt who has other people do her dirty work for her.â
Hadlee laughed at that and looked at him.
âYou really donât know anything about her. Or those of us who are loyal to her. As for what sheâs gonna do? I promise you, you wonât come out of this with your life.. The only thing you need to ask yourself is.. Am I going to die with or without my pride? And⊠How much am I going to scream?â
Hadlee got him onto the cart and started pushing it towards the shack.
âNow, I can tell you this.. You will feel everything she does. You just wonât be able to move. Well, except to scream that is. The last guy she did this to? She fed him pieces of his own leg. Carved it up and grilled it right in front of him. Then fed it to him like she was feeding him a steak. It was actually kinda cool. Not that Iâm into cannibalism or anything like that.. But that guy? That guy had it coming. And to think⊠He was just a purse snatcher.``
She paused a moment and looked at him.
âYou? Youâre the drug dealer that got Lyric hooked⊠And then got her hooked again. Imagine what sheâs going to do to you. She worked hard to get Lyric where she was. Clean; sober. Able to function. Lyric had accepted that she was worthy of love. She had accepted that she would never have children; after what you did to her.â
She began to push the cart again.
âSo yeah.. I imagine what she has in store for you⊠Will not be pleasant. In any fashion.â
âStop talking to him and get him inside, Hadlee.â
Robi spoke from the doorway of the shack as she held the door open for Hadlee to push the guy inside. Once inside, they set about getting the guy strapped up to the device that was sitting in the middle of the room.
âThis puts a whole new meaning to the term âShe Shedâ.â
Hadlee turned to look at Robi.
âYou realize that, right? I mean, She Sheds are supposed to be⊠Well, not thisâŠâ
âHadlee.â
Was all it took for Hadlee to fall into an almost fearful silence as they got the guy secure. Hadlee stepped back and looked him over.
âOk.. Iâm out this popsicle stand. Have fun, Mom.â
And with that⊠Hadlee took her leave.
âHey! Donât leave me here with this crazy cunt!â
The guy yelled after Hadlee.
Robi reached up and backhanded the guy.
âShut up. Sheâs not going to help you. No one is.â
She tilted her head slightly and smiled.
âOh, and feel free to scream as loud as you want.. No one can hear you here. Well, except maybe the gators and other creepy crawlies of the bayou.â
The guy looked at Robi and spit in her direction. This only made Robi laugh even more.
âCome on, Bitch! Do your worst!â
âOh, believe me.. Youâll be begging me to kill you within the first hour.â
Robi turned and walked over to a cart that was sitting before the device. She reached over and pulled the sheet off of it. Only to reveal an undetermined amount of weapons and tools laid out on it. She then turned and pulled the sheet off of a grill that was beside the cart. She set about getting the grill turned on and up to where she needed it. She walked over to the fridge that was in the shack and pulled out 2 nice sized steaks and 2 rather large baked potatoes. She moved around the room setting up the table in front of him. It had all the fixings for dinner.
For two.
âOh what, you gonna pull the whole âeat in front of the prisonerâ gig? What, thatâs supposed to get me to talk?â
Robi didnât confirm or deny his question as she remained silent. Continuing to set up the dinner table, she picked up the plate with the steaks on it and the potatoes and made her way over to the grill. While she was putting both of the steaks on the grill, the sound of a vehicle approaching could be heard.
âI knew it! You canât do your own dirty work. Stupid cunt.â
Robi closed the lid of the grill and walked over to the table with the weapons on it and picked up a syringe. It had a clear liquid in it and she held it up so she could tap it a few times to get the air bubbles out of it before turning to make her way over to where the man was strapped up.
Just as she plunged the needle into his neck, the door opened. The man that walked in stood roughly six foot six and it was easy to tell that he was a man that was not to be fucked with.
The man moved over to Robiâs side and dropped a kiss onto the top of her head.
âHey, Sis. This the guy?â
Robi nodded silently, pulled the needle out of the manâs neck and turned to head back to the grill. She lifted the lid of the grill and reached for the fork to flip the steaks over. That done, she moved to grab the foil wrapped potatoes and put them inside with the steaks.
âDinner will be done soon.â
She said as she closed the lid and moved back over to the weapons table. She picked up an ice pick and walked over to the cross that held the man in place. She didnât speak, she simply placed the tip of the ice pick against the manâs shoulder and slowly pressed.
âAHHH!! YOU FUCKING CUNT!!!â
The man screamed as the blade of the ice pick entered the meaty part of his shoulder. He tried to strain against the restraints, but the shot sheâd given him moments before prevented him from moving. Once the hilt of the ice pick was flush with his shoulder, she jerked it out and suddenly slammed it back in again. Not caring if it went back into the same wound or created a new one.
She repeated this four or five more times. Creating new wounds with each stab of the ice pick. She left the ice pick in his shoulder after the last puncture and turned back to the weapons table. She browsed the selection silently and reached over for a pair of sheet metal snippers.
In the meantime, Robiâs twin brother, Leif, turned back to the man and began to set him up on an IV drip and then he set about the task of shoving a feeding tube up the guyâs nose and down the back of his throat.
Leif gave the guy a smack/pat to the face with a dark smile.
âGood Luck. Youâre gonna need it.â
Leif walked over to the table and looked it over.
âAs delectable as the food smells and as⊠gorgeous? As the table looks⊠Iâm gonna skip outta this one, Sis.â
Robi turned, hand on her his and meat fork in her hand, she gave him an incredulous look.
âYouâre passing up steak and potatoes? You sure youâre ok, SkjĂłta?â
A dark brow shot up at the use of his old nickname from days⊠No, years, gone by.
âYou havenât called me âSkjĂłtaâ in years, Robs..â
It had thrown him off for a moment. Hearing that old childhood nickname, but he wasnât about to let the man before them know that. Leif looked back to Robi and frowned a bit. Something was off with his sister. He knew it. And she knew that he knew.
She smiled at her twin brother and pressed a palm to his face.
âYouâre home, Leif. Thatâs all that matters.â
He didnât try to move her hand away. He simply closed his eyes and nodded before turning and heading out the door.
Robi then turned to the man on the âXâ device and smiled brightly at him.
âNow⊠Where were we?â
She advanced on him with the sheet metal snippers and fear filled his eyes as he let out a scream of pure fear.

âIâve been accused of being jealous of those whoâve come before me. Of the women in the Shieldmaidens whoâve gone before me in winning this belt and that belt. And, truth be told, thatâs the furthest thing from the truth. In fact, Iâm quite proud of the ones whoâve come before me. Even those whose existence Iâve disavowed.â
âSee, that just tells me that they never really knew me. And they know even less now. They donât know who I am now. They donât know what Iâve become. They donât know what Iâm capable of. They run around making back alley deals and putting bullseyes on their own backs.â
âAnd the fucking hilarious thing is⊠At some point⊠Theyâre going to come to me and beg for my help. And you know what Iâm going to do? Iâm going to help. But, theyâll know that my help now comes at a price. And itâs one Iâm not sure any of them are willing to pay.â
âNotâŠâ
âAâŠâ
âSingleâŠâ
âOneâŠâ
â...will be willing to pay that price. Because itâs going to be a price far more expensive than the blood theyâll offer. Far more expensive than the life theyâll offer. Because this time⊠The price will be their very Soul.â
Valkyrie was standing on the roof of a building. The where and how was unimportant. The fact that she was there was what mattered.
âWhen I took my leave of the Shieldmaidens, I left to go on a sabbatical. I left to go âfind myselfâ. And boy did I ever. But, Iâm not so sure certain people will like whatâs come back. Iâm not so sure people will like what Iâve found and become. In fact, I know they wonât.â
âEspecially when they see what Iâm capable of now. The Robi before cared what other people thought. She cared about how people felt. If they got hurt, she was there. If they ran afoul of something, she took care of it. And each time, one by one, each of them shoved a dagger in her fucking back. And she said not one⊠fucking...word.â
âNot one.â
âI simply left. I kissed my husband and children âgood-byeâ and left. For a year.â
Valkyrie began to pace slowly back and forth on that rooftop. Her golden blonde hair pulled back into various braids with a multitude of beads, crystals and other baubles braided in the strands.
âThe woman that returned was shown the error of her ways. People want to believe they can just say and do whatever-the-fuck they want and that Iâll simply sit back and not say a word. And you know whatâŠ?â
âI just might do that.. For a while. But, when it comes time for their dues to be paid? You can bet that theyâll beg for the return of their Souls.â
âI am NOT the woman who left New Orleans, not anymore. Iâm something⊠Different. Something far more primal and feral. More instinctual. Iâd sooner put a bullet in someoneâs brainpan than to offer them a helping hand. I am not that weak woman anymore.â
She stopped pacing for a moment and loosened her shoulders by rolling them and popping the joints in her neck.
âWhich brings me to this weekâs show⊠A Number One Contenderâs match. A match to see who gets to face the Noble Champion. And I have to sayâŠâ
âIâm looking forward to it, in fact.â
She began to pace back and forth again. This time, her arms crossed over her chest.
âYou both have, most likely, been in this business longer than me. In fact, I can almost promise you have. Yaâll most likely come from a long line or family of wrestlers that gives you a hand up. Hell, Iâve taken time off here and there so my time in the ring is even less than someone whoâs been in the business a couple of years. I wasnât born into the life of a wrestler. Sure, I watched it on TV growing up. As most Southerners do⊠But, until I had my stint in prison, I never had a desire or want to step in the ring.â
âThen someone took me under her wing and taught me everything I needed to know. How to fall, how to move, how to bounce off the ropes without hurting myself. Everything. I sit and watch all the other wrestlers out there and I still learn something new. Every single day.â
âIâve sat, for hours, watching match after match. Studying moves and falls. And yet, I know thereâs still more for me to learn.â
âButâŠâ
She paused in her pacing and glanced back at the camera.
â...I digress.â
âSee, for all of the matches Iâve watched. For all of the tapes and videos Iâve reviewed⊠They arenât able to prepare me for how important this match is for me. Because this is MY time. Itâs MY turn to have a chance at a belt. Even if I donât walk out of that ring with it around my waist... â
âAt least I took the chance.â
She began to pace once again.
âAnd thatâs where you two come in. You two are stepping stones. Because you can bet your ass that Iâm going to fight with EVERYTHING I have to take both of you downâŠâ
She stopped and turned fully to the camera.
âEven if I have to bleed for it.â
And the camera goes black.
