When you now turn on your television set, power up your computer or laptop, sign into your app and watch from whatever device you have to so you can watch Project:Honor wrestling, you’ll now see a new face. Sure, you’ll see others since the whole Project:Honor Draft, but you’ve probably seen them on another brand. But what about a “free agent”. Just curious but would you classify Zack as a “free agent” since he signed with PH and technically, at the time, he wasn’t part of any brand? If so, when the draft happened, the “free agent” was drafted to the Thursday night Fallout brand. Now we find out when his first match will be and against whom. Whispers have been heard that his first match would be a Dark Match and that seemed reasonable as he was new. In previous places, a Dark Match for him meant that it was a “testing” phase that in order to be deemed fit to make it the “big show” or a televised show, he would have to win a Dark Match regardless if he was on that specific brand or not. That, however, was not the case with Project:Honor.
No, it was explained to him as he took his concern to various Project:Honor staff as Zack was also trying to find his place within the company and the moral backstage. His first impression of the company is that it was clearly above any place he had been. Some were busy and to themselves but that wasn’t a knock to him, they were just busy with their own things. There were others who found time to shake his hand and welcome him to the company and then there were those who sat down with him and explained how things worked. It was a new scenery but it was his new home and he planned on making the best of it.
The Dark Match that marked his first ever match within Project:Honor would be a match in which Zack would face two women. On top of that, the first ever match Zack will have with Project:Honor will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Canadian fans, wrestling fans, are like how Showtime at the Apollo was to their live performances. If they hate you, they'll boo you out of the building. If they liked you, maybe you’d be able to finish your entertainment routine and if they loved you, well you obviously won them over when it came down to judging. That’s how Canadian fans are when it comes to professional wrestling. Here it is 2021 and pro wrestling dates back to 1930 in Canada. So it’s not just History to them but heritage. So in retrospect to my arrival in Project:Honor and Canada, it seems only fitting that my first match happens in a place that has the same outlook on professional wrestling that I do when I used to watch the Sport when I was growing up. And to be a part of a company that not only has that same outlook but also bringing me to the place where it just surrounds me, it’s like walking through Disneyland as a kid after only just hearing about it and it overwhelms you.
But I’m not going to let the environment get the best of me, I’m almost to the arena from my motel so let’s talk more inside.
The Black suburban driven by his agent, remember the one that he mentioned when he first arrived at Project:Honor? That guy was driving and pulled into the loading and unloading area behind the building where talent and staff park. Exiting the vehicle and taking his bag into the building, his agent drives off to park. Of course Zack is an unknown but that still doesn’t stop the fans who are mob gathered outside the barricade to stop yelling, screaming, just causing commotion to get anyone from Project:Honor’s talent or staff to notice them you know, for the typical picture and autographs. Okay, I know, enough with the introduction right? You’re saying “get to the action already”. So let’s go in the arena and find Zack and get his first words pertaining to his debut.
[Project:Honor - FallOut]
[Bell Centre - Montreal, Quebec, Canada]
The Twenty-One thousand, Three hundred and Two (21,302) seated arena is sold out. Everyone is awaiting the debut of the new Project:Honor brand, Fallout, following the EWC Draft. Listed as the Second (2nd) match of the Dark Matches, it’s a stacked card but my first main goal is to get through my match and hope that’s it’s suitable for EWC standards and of course you want to impress the crowd, but also your boss since he’s the one that hired you.
What to do on your first day on the job? Obviously get yourself known. Yeah, I could’ve gone to Project:Honor’s website and did a whole interview thing but seriously, who am I right now? Nobody knows me. I could go up to Timothy Daniels or maybe Alyssa Nguyen but it’s best that his first impression is to let his actions do the talking. So here we go. Yes, it’s just about that time. The ring crew is in the arena going over last minute preparations from the sound to cueing the lights and making sure the ropes are tightened, all so doors can open up and let the crowd in to enjoy what’s going to be a huge night.
In the meantime, Zack is backstage pacing back and forth nervous as hell as he watches the monitors. It seemed that time went by so slowly as you watch everyone take their positions. Seeing Clara Olson in the ring and welcoming the crowd and then seeing the first match go on, it was great for him as Zack didn’t have that anxiety of going on first. But the crowd getting behind this warm-up match before the actual show started giving him those same feelings of how he did when he was watching matches from ringside when he was a kid. His adrenaline was starting to build and then here came the next match, his. At this point, his adrenaline started to turn into being nervous knowing that he was up next.
Standing at the entrance curtain and his first two opponents were in the ring, hearing just earlier the crowd’s reaction, his whole being nervous was gone as now he just anticipated his introduction.
Cue my introduction...
