It was one of those rare days when Lexi had the opportunity to put business aside and focus on living life away from the ring, so she decided to spend it at home, but still wanted some family time, so she invited her sister over along with her niece and nephew who she hadn't seen in months, so all of them were gathered together in the back of her residential home. The children were swinging away in the swing set, while Lexi and her sister Leslie sat together on the patio with a cup of coffee in their hands as they watched the children play. There was silence between them, then one of the children screamed, which broke the silence. Lexi sipped her drink, then turned to her sister, curiously wanting to know what she was thinking after witnessing the events of their grandma passing away.
Lexi Gold: I'm glad you and the kids could come here. I really missed you guys.
Leslie Gold: Me too. The kids have been asking about you a lot. I told them that you have been busy, and you will see them when you aren't busy body slamming everyone in sight.
Lexi laughs as a sense of guilt overcomes her.
Lexi Gold: I love my job, truthfully, but right now it feels good to not have to worry about all that. Honestly, my mind has been all over with the place, especially with grandma's passing. I don't know if I will ever accept the fact that she is gone. When I pass by the nursing home that she was staying at I always stop and just want to get out of the car and go inside to see her, but then I realize why? She isn't there….
Leslie pulls her in for a hug and wipes a single tear from her sister's eye.
Leslie Gold: I'm having a difficult time coming to the realization she is gone, too. I swear I saw her at the foot of my bed this morning, but I think my mind was playing tricks on me.
Lexi Gold: Wow… that is pretty crazy too and how did that make you feel?
Leslie Gold: Scared. I was doing my makeup in my bedroom with my back turned, and I had a feeling she was sitting on my bed watching me, but when I turned around, there was no one there.
A shiver runs up Lexi's spine once she hears that. She clears her throat and tries to change the subject.
Lexi Gold: I finally got a ring.
Leslie Gold: You are going to get married?
Lexi Gold: No. A wrestling ring. It should be here next month. I wanted to make gram happy, because she would always tell me I should get one. It will be set up here in the backyard.
Leslie Gold: The kids are going to love it. Hell, I'm sure you could teach me a few moves of yours. I've been watching. You got some new ones. I want to learn.
She plays with a strand of her nervously. She realized her sister was an adult, but she couldn't help but worry whether her sister could take the bumps, but from her tone of voice she seemed enthused, and didn't want to take that away.
Lexi Gold: You got a deal, but I'll warn you it's not easy. You should learn the basic stuff first, and then we can work on the more advanced moves. Okay?
Leslie Gold: Sounds like a great plan. You just let me know when it's a good time to do it.
Lexi nods, and the two sisters go inside to refill their cups and enjoy each other's company.
“Rumble matches in the past and present have always proven to be unsuccessful for me, no matter what game plan I acquired. I think it is because there are so many people involved in the ring that it is hard to focus on just one person and trying to eliminate them is no easy task, but no matter what the end result is I am going to try my damn hardest. I know my partner will share the same mentality when she steps into this. I'm putting myself on the hotspot when I ask this, but what would happen should we meet
in the middle of the ring? Picture that scenario for a moment.”
She rubs her chin and ponders that thought.
I think the assumption is that one of us turns on each other. We've all seen it played out numerous times, so I can understand why it would come into question, but turning on her would serve me no benefit. I don't care if there is a prize awaiting me or not. I have no intentions of stabbing my partner in the back. However, I do wish her luck and hope she does well.
As far as the others involved in this match, you better hope and pray you have eyes in the back of your head, because I'm coming in hot and ready to dump your ass outside the ring. I've watched plenty of talent here from past to present live to tell their success story, and I think now it's about time I write my own.
