Oh, sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, and sing for the tear
Sing it with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

How does one pretend to be someone that they’re not?
A simple question that’s lived inside of the head of the entity ever since the day that changed him for good—the day that made him turn from a super terrorist from another dimension to a normal mortal being left with nothing left to fight for—and it’s made become more so of a liability to everyone that he’s sided with and fought with throughout the past few months. It’s been the same fucked up question stuck inside of his mind ever since February. That same stupid fucking question that just doesn’t make sense anymore. That same fucking question that’s corrupted his mind ever since he’s constantly tried and tried and tried some more to become the man he wished to have become and corrupt the world some more by showing an alternate version of Jason Long – which would’ve led to the world finally breaking and just crumbling at the palm of his own hand.
The entity looked over Los Angeles, standing right in front of the Hollywood sign and looking out into the Hollywood neighbourhood, the wind breezed through his hair as he shook his head—but that breeze that passed through seemed to be getting stronger out of nowhere, and the entity closed his eyes for a moment, shaking his head from side to side. It was a sign that he knew that he wasn’t alone.
“Safe to say you look like shit, don’t you?”
As if they had appeared out of nowhere, that voice belonged to Meliodas. They stood right behind the entity and brought their hand onto his shoulder—the entity’s bright whitened eyes quickly switched back to normal. A deep breath from the entity before he slowly turned around to come face to face with Meliodas, a scowling look along his face.
“Such a great way to start the conversation out of nowhere, dickhead.”
“Jason, come on. If anything, I’m just being brutally honest with you. Though, I’m sure that I’m the last person that you’re willing to see at this very moment in time. You know, with you losing the Rumble and all that, just once again showing some disappointment—and hell, didn’t even break at least top fifteen of the damn thing—so I have a feeling you know yourself what I’m doing here.”
There was nothing more than silence that came from the entity, he knew what would’ve come if he had lost but admitting to his own actions were something that he just could not do at all—it was the one thing he just couldn’t ever bear to speak up about—and soon enough, he simply turned away from Meliodas to go looking back out to the Hollywood neighbourhood. A last glance out into the sun, if you would.
“You know, if you’re going to put an end to me—”
“I wish it was, Jason. I honestly do wish it was the day that I put a fucking bullet inside of your thick skull and your new mortal soul would’ve vanished into the fucking thin air—but we’re proven to be wrong, Jason. The Guardians—not those fucking pussy shits that is in this world—but our guardians have decided that they’re not going to kill you just yet. I don’t fucking know why they won’t kill you– but they’re willing to make sure one thing happens.”
“Oh, I’m sure I’m very grateful for the fact that they’re willing to let me live a little bit longer but if punishment is something that they’re just going to hand out towards me every so fucking often– then why aren’t you trying to fucking kill me already? I’m not the same as I used to be, Meliodas. When I transferred into this body, the last thing that I expected was a weakness that’ll slowly turn me away from using my powers. You know, I used to be stronger and I used to be faster, I used to be an un-fucking-beatable entity of a human being from another dimension that this world has never seen before. But now—”
An echoing click of his fingers turned everything around the two into darkness, finding themselves back inside of The Infinity Realms and not in the sunny state of California like expected to have been—but as the entity turned to have faced Meliodas? They seemed to have been slowly walking away from the entity, back turned to him and they kept walking before the entity himself gave chase.
“—you want something to be done to me, and I fucking know damn well that you want to, so cut the shit and give me the punishment that The Guardians want me to suffer through, Meliodas. You’ve waited weeks, if not months, to finally give the fucking liability of The Guardians a piece of his own mind. This is what you wanted, right? This is what your own fucking father would’ve wanted when he banished me from my own throne before he died.”
“That’s the thing.”
Meliodas stopped in his tracks, taking a deep breath, before turning back around to face the entity.
“That’s the fucking thing, Jason. I’d love to make sure you fucking suffer so much but I really, really cannot bring myself to just fucking murder you like I wanted to. You’d never ever understand how much that truly begins to grind my gears—”
“SENTENCE ME TO FUCKING DEATH THEN YOU PRICK! ‘Guardian of peace and prosperity’, my fuckin’ arse you are. You sentence me to death in a way that you can without interfeering with the rest of those poxy fucking psycho cunts. And that’s to take away all of my power, lock that shit up and make sure nobody gets near it. All I’ll be is a walking mortal being just like the rest of the pricks in that world with everyone getting their eyes on me and wishing my death was caused by them. I have about three, four, maybe even five names right now who’d love to make sure my hearts stop beating. I’ll be dead by the end of the summer, if I’m lucky to keep dodging them for this long, so let me fight my own fight by myself. Let me fight with my hands, not with the powers that you lot have fucking cursed me with all of those years ago.”
“So, you want these blessings we’ve given you to vanish and leave you as a mere mortal human being in a rotting and decaying corpse? Are you even thinking straight or have you truly lost your damned fucking mind, Jason? This isn’t even sentencing you to death, this might as well have been murder in the highest form when it comes to what we pled an oath to.”
“I broke that fucking oath when I began to mercilessly kill people for fun and entertainment. I just want to be a human again, I don’t want to fucking live like the lot of you anymore. I don’t want to be that person anymore. I’ve asked and I’ve asked – over and over again – and it’s only now, when I’ve risen from my cell chamber and became a god again just to fall down a rabbit hole and become weaker and weaker as the weeks and months have gone by, that I’m a fucking liability and something that’s holding all of you back.”
A sigh came from Meliodas as they began to step closer and closer towards the entity, a disgruntled look resting along their face as they began to shake their head.
“Have it your way... I’m sorry, Jason, and I wish you the best of luck.”
But, soon enough, they brought their hand right to the chest of the entity. The eyes of the entity began to glow pure white, his hands began to shake with the pressure being put into his chest. It’s feeling like one of his hearts was being crushed by the hand of Meliodas, and that’s exactly what was happening inside of his body. His second heart, it was crushing up and becoming non-existent. His whole body, on the inside it was all changing, and within a large flash of light as Meliodas pulled something out of the chest of the entity.
The entity, or the soul of one, was dead.
