Time for another Declan introduction. Charlotte, North Carolina. Friday 27th May. (On-Camera)
Charlotte was a very lucky state this weekend because they only do not have wrestling to look forward to, but they also have a special sports event where Declan stands in the middle of a race track after trucks had finished up for the night, NASCAR. Although to a lot of wrestling fans, it's a boring sport, but because Declan had never seen a NASCAR race before, he thought to come on by at Charlotte Motor Speedway to catch up on all the action, planning to be there for the Sunday race as well. It was all new, fresh and exciting to him. Project Honor camera crew came along for the experience and Declan smiles, although a little nervous because of him having another rumble match.
Declan O'Connor: "What great racing I've seen here today with the trucks along with practice and qualifying sessions with Xfinity series, even saw a wrestler here doing NASCAR as a part-time job. Firstly I think it's cool a wrestler can do both sports at the same time, I sure couldn't. Secondly, I can go to other attractions anytime, but you can't go to something like this every time you go to Charlotte. Anyway, let's get into it. Me in the Gates of Hell match. Admittedly, I did a solid job, it has to be said. Especially a lot of people expected me to be the first wrestler eliminated. Although I didn't win and that doesn't matter, I think I can credit myself as doing a great job as someone that's never been inside of a cage-type match before and in only my 3rd ever match in my entire wrestling career too."
Declan pauses as there were sound effects of NASCAR cars going around with an advertisement of Charlotte Motor Speedway for the race on Sunday, consistently happening in the background, along with the large podium where the winner and the car will be.
Declan O'Connor: "It's pretty cool that Proving Ground want to do a wrestling show the same weekend as NASCAR races are on. Anyway, enough of that, let's get into this rumble or rather a bit more about myself because I don't know any of my opponents and I don't have time to jot down their names and trash them when I have no knowledge about them. However, this is my second ever battle royal match and I can say I've been in more stipulated matches than I have with singles wrestling. Find that odd and funny. When I walked into Infinity Wrestling Federation, I was signed up by my wrestling school to do a one-off match. I came into the ring in twelfth and then got eliminated pretty fast so I say so far, I'm not very good at battle royals. I always thought they were luck-based matches."
Declan shook his head at having to do another battle royal match, knowing he was tired of them, but it was something he had to do, even if he sighs in disgust.
Declan O'Connor: "Again I have no information about trashing anyone so I can't get into my opponents, but it doesn't mean I won't give everything into the match because I always find it's best you learn about your opponents more in the ring anyway. At the same time, I can't deny that just like NASCAR, battle royals can be very competitive matches. I never got to tell a bit about myself. So you know about my anger issues. Well, I have something to tell you all. I'm not a very rich person at all. I'm not one of those disadvantaged kids living on the streets either. I'm a guy that lives in a cheap home my parents can barely afford and I didn't get into the business on an easy ticket. In fact, I had to get free lessons because I couldn't afford them by cleaning the wrestling school. I can't even afford a place of my own at the moment because I haven't got enough money."
It was a hard life Declan had to live by and he only came to the NASCAR race because someone in America was selling tickets they couldn't go to the race at the weekend anymore at a cheap price.
Declan O'Connor: "But just because I don't enjoy these battle royals, it doesn't mean I'm incapable of being the last person standing because out of everyone in this match, I believe I'm a better wrestler, especially I did outperform the top guys that have matches here tonight. Anyone that gets in my way, I will throw everyone out of the ring. I may not win this match either because of the luck-based match, I also believe I'm a different wrestler than most with my power and technical wrestling at my age and size too. I will go and be the last person standing. It's not for anything special other than for me to prove myself once again. Because that's the way of The Irish Diamond and he will win this match."
It wasn't very much, mostly because his opponents weren't named as the cameras went black.
