Declan's shocking discovery. Cork, Republic Of Ireland. Tuesday 19th April. (Off-Camera)
Ever since he came home from wrestling in his first ever solo's match against Serrano Poblano, he had been busy cleaning the gym along with other chores he had to do just to get free wrestling lessons or in this case, free gym work training. Although he still is learning to wrestle, it was still things he needed to understand, especially the mentality side of things. Because of the hot head Declan was, he had to not get too far with his anger. So far, he had things under control, but knows at the same time, Declan might just lose it if wrestlers go too far.
Although his parents also discovered Declan going to and from America to wrestle now for Project Honor who were proud of Declan, nobody in his world was more prouder than his wrestling coach, Cillian Doyle. Although he did recently meet a friend who was inspired by Declan's wrestling and started speaking while cleaning the floors together
Declan O'Connor: “So Finn, where do you live?”
Finn: “I don't live in a house. I live on the streets. My parents died when I was only a baby. I was at home with a babysitter, while my parents got killed in a car accident.”
Declan O'Connor: “I'm sorry to hear that. Well, at least I know this place will get clean when I'm away wrestling in America. I can't live there at the moment because I have no money to afford a place. Although getting a visa to work there was a bitch and a half to fight for.”
Finn: “I can imagine. Well I hope by doing the cleaning that it would get me off the streets. I can be aggressive and get angry, but that's because I wasn't lucky to have a family.”
Declan saw how scared Finn was, shaking everywhere because of the fear of being killed. Declan had never been in that situation and he was lucky in that retrospect of parents giving Declan all the love in the world. Declan pat's Finn's shoulder, giving him a bit of comfort.
Declan O'Connor: “I don't want to ever imagine myself in that situation, but I understand that it's a scary world out there, especially the gangs we have around here is a lot.”
Finn: “Wait, you're not homeless at all? Then why are you doing cleaning with me if that's not the case?”
Declan O'Connor: “Because while I live with my parents, they don't make enough money to afford wrestling lessons for me. I'm the only child so at least that's one good thing they have. They love me a lot and get lots of care.”
Finn: “Wow, I didn't realise people who lived with their families weren't loaded with money. Guess I learn something new every single day.”
Declan nodded his head, hearing everything Finn had to say regarding his new friend who wanted to help, but mostly teaching him how to clean the floors with correct cleaning tools and everything else and it was good for Declan to talk to someone since he didn't have many friends to interact with.
Declan O'Connor: “Yes, you do indeed my young friend. We should go out to the park later for a walk, what do you say?”
Finn: “I'd like that. I only want to do wrestling because to keep me off the streets. I hate sitting in the alleyway, in cold weather sometimes without shelter. All the other sports including boxing and MMA does not interest me. I want to be a professional wrestler where people will take notice of me since I was never adopted in my life.”
Declan O'Connor: “You will get there one day kid, I promise you. I would've laughed if I said to my parents sometime ago I would be a professional wrestler, but now I'm here and I wouldn't miss training or workout sessions for the world.”
Suddenly, large footsteps come in and saw Declan and Finn cleaning floors from different end of the room. The large footsteps belonged to Cillian Doyle who oversaw everything Declan and Finn doing everything with the cleaning, seeing them getting along only brought joy to his face. Applauding them.
Cillian Doyle: “Great job boys. Glad you two are getting along so well. However, I need to talk to Declan in my office privately. Not done anything wrong, in fact you've done a great job lately guiding Finn around here.”
Declan O'Connor: “Wait for me outside so we can go to the park.”
Finn nodded his head, accepting Declan's deal with walking to the park to get to know each other, however, it was highly unusual for Cillian to tell Declan to walk away from an unfinished job, but at the same time, he had extra help this time. They leave the gym and ring area to head to Cillian's office. Declan takes a seat on the chair as Cillian closes the office door behind him and took a seat, clearing his throat with Declan confused.
Declan O'Connor: “What's up?”
Cillian Doyle: “I didn't think Project Honor were going to go in that direction with you so fast. No, not a title shot by the way. They think you're ready to make yourself a star.”
Declan O'Connor: “What do you mean? I've only had two matches in my entire career, bit early to say that, isn't it?”
Cillian Doyle: “It might be early, admittedly when as you said only had two wrestling matches, but at the same time, going up against guys like Brandon Hendrix, Casanova English.”
Declan widens his eyes, of course because he's still very green to wrestling, makes a comment.
Declan O'Connor: “Oh, I get to face an Englishman in the ring?”
Cillian Doyle: “No, he comes from Canada. I wasn't done. You have Douglas Crane, Emmanuelle, James Raymond, Silas Naberius and Stella Jade too. In this The Gates Of Hell match where if you win, you get rewarded. I don't know what cos they didn't say.”
Declan O'Connor: “I may know a lot about wrestling matches, but what's Gates Of Hell match?”
Cillian even didn't know at the time when Project Wrestling mentioned the match to him what Gates Of Hell match was. Until a fax came through with the layout picture of Gates Of Hell and the rules of it. Declan nodded, gaining more experience as a wrestler is something he wanted since he was very green and unknown.
Declan O'Connor: “Looks like an elimination chamber to me. But different access to gates.”
Cillian Doyle: “They told me that you simply get eliminated by not advancing through the gate. You have five minutes to get through the gate. Unfortunately, we don't have anything like that to practice with. But those are basically the rules of the match. They do this match every year, being the main attraction for Disputed Territory.”
Declan O'Connor: “It's nice of them to feel I'm ready for this opportunity, but I personally think it's too early for me. I've only had my first solo's match the other week.”
Cillian Doyle: “You have to take those opportunities when you can, no matter if it's too early for you. Because chances like this don't come everyday. Nobody expects you to win due to how green you are, but you can prove to the world that Declan can come to play. You have as much chance of winning as the top guys of Project Honor do.”
It was a valuable lesson for Declan that he and Cillian agreed it is too early, but at the same time, Cillian wasn't wrong about opportunities not always coming his way either, but Declan decides that knowing who he was facing and the opportunity it presents himself, he got up from his chair and leaves the office. Finn finished sweeping the floor so Declan grabs his wrestling gear from the locker room and met with Finn. As they walk to the park, Finn saw Declan not looking satisfied.
Finn: “Did something bother you so much when you spoke with Cillian?”
Declan O'Connor: “More that I got a lot to think about. I discuss more with you in the park. Let's just walk without talking.”
Finn was concerned about Declan, but at the same time, he accepted the request of letting Declan think over some things for a bit. Until they got to the park as they watch the ducks being fed by kids with parents, quacking quite loudly for bread and some gave ducks grapes as well. Declan scratched his head.
Declan O'Connor: “So here's what I got on my mind. Cillian told me I'm in Gates Of Hell match against some of the top wrestlers in the company. Problem is I've only had two wrestling matches in my entire career so far and I don't feel I'm ready to take on names that have way more experience than me.”
Finn: “Wow, they want to throw you in with the big dogs after one match in Project Honor? I can understand that pressure for sure. That is a bit too far in advance, but I'm sure Cillian said you have to take the opportunity when it presents itself.”
Declan O'Connor: “He did. I just feel shocked with being unsure how I'll perform I guess. I heard something about that match on the last Proving Ground show, but I didn't expect at any point I'll be in it.”
Declan sighs as he wasn't entirely satisfied, but he had to be because not many people in their third ever wrestling match would be thrown in the deep end. Finn sees the other side of the argument of what Declan was so unsure about.
Finn: “Nobody expects you to win and I know for sure, the pressure is more on the guys that are expected to win. You got nothing to lose and everything to gain, regardless if you win or lose. It's a chance for you to prove yourself, to prove you belong in wrestling and threaten the top names. You should be proud to get this opportunity.”
Declan O'Connor: “It's a shock. Gates Of Hell sounds like the kind of match I'd enjoy. Looks like it involves violence and I like that kind of wrestling, especially with my past anger issues. I have to get through the gates to avoid being eliminated and the last two have to climb the ladder for the briefcase.”
Finn: “You can do it. Everyone has faith in you. We're might not be the same and will eventually argue, but I root you and everyone at that school does. You can do it and can be the best wrestler of them all in only your third match which would be impressive for you. You're the underdog in this match and you'll shine through it.”
Declan O'Connor: “You're right. I see your point cleanly that I'm fussing about the match for nothing. I'll work hard everyday in the gym and learn new moves so I can get better and be prepared to take on some of Project Honor's best wrestlers. It's nice been hanging out, but I'll meet you up tomorrow and we get to know each other properly. Sorry for today.”
Declan had felt bad that he never got to know Finn more because of the match hitting him on the head and completely forgot about that. Declan went home and got out a Formula One colouring book and does colouring as apart of his mental training. Even when he gets home, he does wrestling related training because that's how dedicated Declan is about wrestling.

On Camera in Declan's hotel room in Newark, New Jersey.
“I'm not sure what to say on this shocking opportunity I've been given. I mean in my third ever wrestling match and second ever in Project Honor wrestling. I get to compete in a seven person gates of hell match. From the information I was given, I saw that I have to avoid being eliminated by going through the gates in five minutes and the last two have to climb a ladder to reach the briefcase. It's amazing how the staff think I'm ready for this.
However, I'm not going to go easy on all of you because at the same time, I'm prone to be chaotic in my life. Because when I first done training to be a professional wrestler, I was a very hot headed guy, having so much anger issues that I had to go through anger management. Now, I don't get angry easily anymore because instead, I use the anger I could potentially have inside of the wrestling ring instead and that's when things clicked for me. I became a technician because of my size that was also limited in wrestling.
So I go off from going from the videos from the last shows or PPV in the case of one brand since I'm still getting to know all the wrestlers in Project Honor because I only joined a few weeks ago and I try not to trash anyone because of my limited knowledge. I think I go with someone I've heard the name before somewhere, Casanova English. Now he's a guy from what I remember has won some titles in Carnage Wrestling and in Visionaries of Wrestling companies.
Seems you're one of the big names around here. Now granted, you can be a violent wrestler that can manhandle anyone, but you're angry for no reason it seems. I have anger inside of me that I let out in the ring, not out of it. You should consider doing it someday and only use violence on occasions. I also read you've been champion here as well. So the pressure is on you in a way because of the expectation of winning this match.
Brandon Hendrix, I've also heard of your name as well, you briefly wrestled for SinCW and seen some of your matches on Level Up company. You are one impressive guy and certainly one I can respect fully. You have done a lot in your time in Project Honor and I feel you can grow around here. But you seem to have that arrogant attitude about you and I don't know, but small amount of arrogance is good, but not overly over the top like you. You're big and a great wrestler, but until you can be convinced that you're the real deal around here, you'll know it. So I don't know if I want to like you with your attitude, but you're a great wrestler no doubt about it.
Ah so I guess I'm not the only new guy in this match that's on the roster. It's also great to face other British wrestlers, even though I come from Ireland. However, I don't think you should be wrestling with the crimes you committed. How haven't you been in prison for your crimes? But you also lost the tag match for yourself and your partner. But you got plenty of years ahead of you so you got time to improve and be a great wrestler.
I don't think it's a good idea to be with someone in wrestling in a relationship, Stella Jade because matches like this can mess everything up in your life. I heard you're also a rookie to the sport like I am and this is my third every match as a whole, but second on the roster. I think you also still need a lot of improvement as well as I do. But I'm looking forward to facing someone that also has nothing to lose as well. But it's at a massive cost of a relationship that you'll likely not advance.
Ah, you have anger issues as well, do you, Douglas Crane? Interesting, but it is to be expected that you're a massive guy to have crane as the last name. I want to see what you can do to someone like me in the ring and do your worst on beating the hell out of me, but if you do, I'll get up and continuously use technical moves to make you exhausted to a point you'll be eliminated.
I know that Emmanuelle has been the top champion around here. I look forward to gaining my experience with her talented wrestling skills and it seems you love the wrestling business and take it seriously. I knew you have a ton of talent and I also read you beat English recently in a match. I view you as a future top champion of this place. You're fantastic, but I won't be going down without a fight.
Ah, another British guy in the match is known as James Raymond. I know you've got all the talent in the world and sure I've seen you get a win two weeks ago. I can see you having a bright future of this business and looking forward to seeing what you can do in the ring too. All that being said though, there is only one man that will be walking out of the match as the winner, that's me.
I've been working hard to get better and learn from the first match I've had here and make an effect of being better and this is my second ever PPV match. I've had more PPV matches than any rookie has. I will go out there and put on a show everyone wants to see out of The Irish Diamond and perform the best wrestling of my life. I will prove to everyone why Project Honor made the right decision to put me in this match to showcase my skills and why I can be one brutal man that can beat anyone in the ring. I will show you all that I'm made of and perform the best match of my life. I see you all tomorrow in the ring when I grab that briefcase after going through different gates to get there and I'll use weapons to win."
