She entered the park for the first time in years and everything looked almost the same, except some playground equipment was replaced with new ones. The feeling of being there gave her a sense of comfort. It was empty. No one occupied the park except her, so she found a nice bench to sit down at. Her eyes focused on the swings, recalling her eight-year-old self falling off of them several times, crying afterwards while her grandma attended to her each time. The thought consumed her mind too much, therefore made her quite tired, so she rested her head back and dozed off for a bit. After a few minutes, she felt someone tap her shoulder repeatedly and called her name, unfamiliar with whom the voice belonged to.
?: Lexi, sweetheart, wake up. I want to push you down the slide.
A groggy Lexi finally opened her eyes and saw her grandma sitting next to her, but she appeared much younger. She rubbed her eyes in confusion.
Lexi Gold: Grandma, what are you doing here? Also, why do you look so much younger?
Grandma: I don't know what you are talking about. I think your dad let you have too much sugar. Now I'm going to ask this once again, would you like me to push you down the slide?
Lexi turned her head to look at the slide that was mentioned, thinking to herself how difficult it would be to slide down it before turning her head back to look at her grandma, who had a smile pasted on her face the whole time.
Lexi Gold: I don't think that would work now. That slide is simply too small for me. I'm not a kid anymore, Gram.
Her grandma chuckles and play's with a strand of Lexi's hair.
Grandma: You are a kid at heart, darling. Never forget. Can I ask you something?
Lexi Gold: Sure. What is it?
Grandma: Why did it take you so long to visit here? This used to be your favorite park in the whole world. You would always beg me to bring you here.
She looked taken back by that question, making her feel somewhat guilty of this.
Lexi Gold: I would say because of my busy schedule, but that's still no excuse. I'm sorry.
Grandma: Don't apologize. I love you no matter what. I just wanted to pay you a visit and talk to you one last time before-
Her alarm clock caused a disturbance in her dream before it could finish. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, confusion took over regarding the dream. Her grandma was still in the nursing home last time she visited her. Perhaps it was a sign that another visit was needed. She looked at the photograph of her and her grandma together on the table next to the bed before getting up out of bed and leaving the room to shower.
If you had asked me a year from now if I would be in a tag team again, I would have give you the middle finger and say you are fucking nuts. The tables sure have turned in a big way, and now the formation of The Golden Goddesses have been born. We have yet to add a win into our column, but what we lack in wins, we make up for by showing consistency and determination.
She exhales while looking at the camera with a serious look in her eyes.
Cadillac Jackson and TJ Thompson may still be eating their celebratory cake while gloating over their win, but we proved that you shouldn't and will not look past us. While we may not have that longevity as a tag team, I believe if things go well that could change, and I'm willing to correct my faults in the past to ensure this is successful.
With that being said, Betsy and I will walk another path side by side, but this time it won't be held on Proving Ground. Instead, our opportunity awaits us at the pay-per-view known as Disputed Territory II. We talked it over. We know what is at stake and are aware this is going to be a very difficult challenge to overcome, but we knew what we signed up for when we signed on the dotted line, even if that means traveling to hell and back to get our prizes, then so be it.
She looks down at the open palms of her hands, imagining grasping gold in her hands, before looking up and continuing to speak.
I know all teams will gun for that same prize like a pair of crazy hyenas, but unlike many of the teams involved, we will allow our body to be used as a weapon in the most destructive way possible in order to feed our hunger for victory and gold. It may be far, but I can taste it. I know I have history with some of these teams in some way, but in my head I'm going to treat this as if I've been going to battle with them for years and this is the final opportunity at gold. It may not be everyone's strategy, but it's mine and I know it will work to my advantage and push me to bring everything I got.
