I know people use the quote live life to the fullest quite often when referencing certain situations, but in Lexi's case she wants to apply it more. Her grandma's illness has been on her mind lately, and she wasn't sure how much time she is going to have with her, so there she was standing outside the building of the nursing home. Part of her was scared to see her over fear of breaking down and crying, but she knew she had to control her emotions and express her feelings toward her. After taking a deep breath, she continued her walk towards the front of the building. Eventually finding an entrance and heading inside.
Once inside, she walked around, noticing the group of old folks sitting in their wheelchairs watching television, or playing games, but no signs of her grandma as she continued her search, finding herself in her grandma's bedroom where the elderly woman was asleep, but woke up when she heard Lexi's footsteps. She grabbed a chair and placed it near her bedside, sat on it, then grabbed her grandma's hand and held it as she looked at her. The woman looked to be in happy spirits over the company she was receiving.
“You came to see me. I've been waiting all day for you. I've been telling my friends about you. Have you met them yet?”
“Not yet. I only just got here. I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. I got caught up with helping mom declutter the house. I swear, that woman didn't want to throw anything away. I finally had to put my foot down and get mad.”
Lexi sighed and brushed the old woman's hair with her hand before she pulled the blankets up more, not wanting her to experience the coldness in the room.
“Your mother has always been that way for years. We had fights as a result, but after a while I gave up on trying to reason with her.”
Lexi laughed, trying to avoid the feeling of sadness, but the thought of her passing anytime at a moment kept replaying in her head. If she had a way to go inside her brain and remove it physically, she would.
“Yeah… so um how are you feeling? Is there anything I can get you? Food? Drink?”
“I don't need anything right now. Just you being here is enough. When the day comes when I do leave this world, I don't want you to be sad, my dear. You are still young. You got the whole world ahead of you. Be happy. Go use the money I leave you with and buy you that wrestling ring you always dreamed of having.”
Tears rolled down her cheek, unable to hold back her emotions, hearing those words hit her like a ton of bricks. She wiped her tears with her hand and sighed.
“The money is not important to me. It's not my top priority. You are and damn it as selfish as this may seem I just want to keep you around forever. I want you to be able to travel around the world with me, be there in the crowd for my matches, and be there when I have a family of my own….”
“Blame old age, darling. Don't cry. We all have to get old eventually. Just remember I'll always be looking down at you, proud of what you do.”
“I know. It's just hard to process all this. I wish there was more I could do, or say to express what I'm going through. I love you. You have done so much for me and Leslie growing up. Without you there to help guide us through life, I don't think I would be the person I am now. I-”
“You are a terrific person. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I'd love to talk more, but I'm tired. I need to sleep now. Come visit me again tomorrow. You can tell me the happenings with your wrestling thing.”
She got up and kissed her forehead, wishing she didn't have to leave already, but respected her wishes. First thing in the morning, she will be back and couldn't wait to see her again, grabbing the chair now and placing it back where it was before, then headed for the door, but stopped to turn her head slightly back.
“I love you. I will see you tomorrow.”
Then before you know it she was out the door and left the nursing home that day with a feeling of sadness, guilt and anger.
“With this business you are never certain what outcome you will be dealt with, but no matter what it is you just have to keep the wheels rolling in hope that one day you will be at the top of the food chain with the likes of Myojin, Emmanuelle, and Arata Asakura to name a few. I have a long way to go before I reach those heights. Mikey Hero proved in my last match that he is capable of doing that. Despite the hardship he faced in it he prevailed. I'm not bitter as a result of that. Instead, I applaud and commend him.”
She claps her hands together in approval.
“While I may have praised him, it doesn't mean I'm by no means kissing his ass. I'm sure he and I will cross paths again one day, but this time I will be better than what you saw of me in that match, resulting in it ending differently.”
“Moving on. It seems like the higher powers love booking me in tag matches for some reason, which doesn't really bother me, because unlike certain people on the roster, I actually respect Betsy Gallagher in and out of the ring. She is not only smart, but also very insightful. Obviously, she has shown to respect me as well, which is rare to come across in this business. Nevertheless, I know she is dying to get revenge and back on the winning side of things after suffering that tough loss, but guess what, so am I? I want us to use that built up frustration and apply it in this match. Unfortunately, for TJ and this Cadillac Jackson fella, this will be one of those cases where it's the wrong time and wrong place for them.”
She rubbed her hands together quickly in anticipation for what's to come in that ring.
“I dislike Cadillac for the simple fact that he is too big-headed and probably assumes it's his world and we all just live in it. I am sorry, but that's not how it goes around here, or anywhere for that matter. I'll have no problem crushing your ego down a couple notches. Maybe if I did that, it'll help you to be a better person. Don't be a version of my former self. It'll only hurt you rather than save you. However, I doubt my words will be helpful to you.”
“As far as his partner goes, I'm not familiar with TJ and what his intentions are with this match, but from what I read of him he doesn't seem problematic. I could be wrong, though. Either way, I'm going to grow eyes everywhere, cautiously, and for every move you try on me, I'm going to hit you with one of my own and beat you at your own game. That's not a promise. That is a sure guarantee.”
She nodded her head slowly and looked at the camera, wanting to show off her actions rather than tell them.
“I'm also not worried about my partner having my back when needed. She hasn't given reason not to be, but can't say the same for the two of you. It might lead to your faults. Either way, you can expect us to be unstoppable and rise to this occasion as a result. We aren't letting our losses get in the way of asserting dominance and proving just because we aren't champions, or at the top of the kingdom doesn't mean you should underestimate what we offer to the table. We will end up turning them in the end.”
