JAMES EDGEBROOK: Welcome to another edition of…
Before James Edgebrook can get any further, he is interrupted by the sound of joyful organ music. As an evangelical chorus sings along to the music, Julius makes his way onto the set, a pleasant smile on his face and his arms held wide open.
“Please call my name (I want to hear my name)
Please call my name (I want to hear my name)
Please call my name (from above)
Please (yeah)
Please call my name (ooh ooh ooh)
Put my faith to the test (hey, hey, faith to the test, yeah)
Lord, give me eyes of righteousness (ooh, give me eyes, so I can see)”
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, happy day! Rejoice, brother James, for the salvation of this program is at hand!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Uhhhh…
Edgebrook looks very uncomfortable as Julius makes his way around the desk and leans down toward his co-host. The expression given off by James Edgebrook is one of uncertainty as Julius wraps his arms around him for a friendly embrace. After holding the hug for an uncomfortably long time, Julius finally pulls back just far enough to plant a kiss on James’ cheek. With that complete, the church music starts to fade as Julius makes his way to his side of the desk.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Um…are you…feeling okay, Julius?
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, brother James. How delightful it is for you to ask. The sweet baby Jesus has gifted us with another day together, so I couldn’t be anything less than fine.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s…just great, Julius. I’m happy to have you here as well. Shall we get started with this week’s program?
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: My heart sings out for that, James, but first, I feel that it’s only proper to share some good words with all of the fine men, women, and children who are joining us for this uplifting program. Have no fear, brothers and sisters, for we shall be right back after this powerful and uplifting advertisement!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Welcome back to The F’n Edge. This week I’m here with Julius…Fineweather? Is that correct?
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: It certainly is, my dear friend, James
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Right…tonight we’ll have our normal segments, but we’ll also be bringing you an exclusive interview with Lou Robertson and Lexi Gold. In addition to that, I’m told we’ll have a special guest as we make predictions for The Crowning II. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, so let’s get into this week’s Elite Ten!
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Before we reveal number ten, I just want to share the love by giving a few of Project: Honor’s noble competitors an honorable mention. While he may not have won his match in the most honorable of ways, we should point out that Slade Castle achieved the biggest win of his career over Elena DeDraca. Also, Alyssa Grace earned her way into Fallout’s main event with a win over that disgusting and reprehensible Julius Foulweather.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s…a good point. Those are definitely worth honorable mentions at least, but Proving Ground has its own stars that are turning heads. Tara Fenix has been on an absolute tear as of late, and we can’t forget that Swindle Shelldrake captured the victory for his team in last week’s main event.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Well said, dearest James.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Coming in at number ten this week is Ozymandias. This was a difficult call, as his record would certainly earn him a higher spot. However, the Legacy Champion was arrested earlier this week, leaving his future with the company in doubt. It would seem as if he’ll be absent from Project: Honor for the foreseeable future, which also puts the fate of the Legacy Championship up in the air. For now, we’re leaving him on our list, but it seems as if this may be the last time we see his name in our top ten.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: With Betsy Galagher and Sonya Benson suffering their first losses in the company, a new undefeated competitor enters our top ten this week. Lexi Gold has already made some enemies during her brief stint, but that hasn’t stopped her from winning three matches in a row. Bless your kind soul, Lexi.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Dropping one spot this week is Mr. Wright. With a week off from competition, the Noble Champion slips a little bit, but that’s more a case of the stiff competition on our list as opposed to anything he did wrong. A return to action and a potential title defense could see him move right back up in our rankings.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: What a tenacious man our reigning Gatekeeper Champion has turned out to be! He successfully defended his title on Proving Ground against three other competitors. While it didn’t turn out to be much of a match, it was still an impressive performance and moved Mr. Hyde up two positions. Bless his heart!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: A return to defending his Warrior Rising Championship is all it took to bump Casanova higher in our rankings. Betsy Galagher was a very tough opponent, and English managed to hand her her first loss on Proving Ground. With three challengers coming after him at The Crowning, it’s hard to tell if Casanova will move up on our list or get bumped off completely by the rise of a new title holder.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Poor Jason. He seems so confused lately. I’m not even sure if we should call him Jason or The Entity. I hate to see someone struggle with identity issues, so I will certainly be praying for him tonight. Nonetheless, he defended the Ascension Championship in the main event of Fallout, so at least he’s moving up in the rankings. Bless you, Jason. If you need to hear a friendly voice, I’m only a phone call away!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: The Prime Champion slips from our number one spot this week after an extremely hard-fought battle against his fellow teammates on the last Fallout. A win would have solidified him in the top spot, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Still, Havoc remains the Prime Champion and has to be considered one of the favorites to win the Tyrant’s Crown. No matter what, I don’t foresee him leaving our list anytime soon.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: With all due respect to the lovely Miss Lexi Gold, our number three entrant is reserved for the prettiest competitor in all of Project: Honor. MYOJIN found success alongside his teammates in Proving Ground’s main event, but unfortunately that just isn’t enough to move them higher on our list. Of course, it doesn’t knock them down any lower either. MYOJIN remains at number three on our list but number one in our hearts. Bless them.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Hey, y’all got any more of that Billy Bennett? Why yes, we do. A win over her teammates in the True Society catapults Billy to the number two spot this week. Earning a win over Havoc, Syndicate, and Angelo Caito is no small feat, and with her impressive record intact, Billy Bennet very nearly took this week’s top spot, even without championship gold in her possession.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: And last but certainly not least, our top spot goes to Project: Honor’s Grand Champion this week. The Platinum Standard has not missed a step since winning the title and outlasted Archimedes J. Manson in a hard-fought headliner on Proving Ground. She’s set for a collision course with Arata Asakura at The Crowning, but it seems as if she will be up to the challenge. Bless her heart.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s it for this week’s Elite Ten. Stay tuned for our Medals of Honor coming up next!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: After two tremendous episodes last week, our fans have spoken, and this week’s Medals of Honor have been decided. As always, there’s no better way to kick things off than by highlighting the best promos from each brand!
BEST FALLOUT PROMO - Billy Bennett’s “Bow Down”
RUNNER UP - Havoc’s “One True King””
BEST PROVING GROUND PROMO - Emmanuelle’s “Assessment Time”
RUNNER UP - Tara Fenix’s “I Need This”
JAMES EDGEBROOK: There was a lot of fire on the microphones and in the video packages submitted by our superstars regarding the last episodes of Fallout and Proving Ground. On the green brand, Billy Bennett continues to turn heads with her unique style. Any comments on Fallout’s runner up, Julius?
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: No. He scares me.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Good enough. Over on Proving Ground, Emmanuelle caught the fans’ attention as always En route to her non-title match with Archimedes J. Manson.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Tara Fenix had quite a bit to say regarding her own match. I wonder if those two lovely ladies got together for tea and girl talk before producing their promotional material this week…
BEST SEGMENT - True Society’s Poker Game
RUNNER UP - Proving Ground’s Don’t Try This at Home
JAMES EDGEBROOK: On the segment side of things, our fans really enjoyed seeing The True Society try their hands at poker, even if things nearly got out of control. Meanwhile on Proving Ground, the superstars of Project: Honor reminded our fans to avoid trying to recreate their favorite matches and moments at home.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Goodness gracious! I wouldn’t even try some of those things at work!
BEST FEUD - True Society vs. Big Drip Worldwide
RUNNER UP - Giovanni vs. Lexi Gold
JAMES EDGEBROOK: While feuds between the likes of Emmanuelle and Arata Asakura on Proving Ground or Alyssa Grace and Savannah Sunshine on Fallout continue to advance towards The Crowning, our fans were interested in two other rivalries.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: The ill feelings between True Society and Big Drip Worldwide continue to escalate. I’m glad The KaVengers were there to try sharing love and friendship with both of those overly violent groups.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: The bad blood between Giovanni and Lexi Gold continued to build as well, but I’m sure we’ll hear more about that later when Lou Robertson sits down for a few words with Lexi.
BEST SPOT - The Betsy Galagher/Casanova English False Finishes
RUNNER UP - Savannah Sunshine works over Alyssa Grace
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: While it didn’t win match of the week, the false finishes between Betsy Galagher and Casanova English had our fans on the edges of their seats. Bless both their hearts!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: On Fallout, the fans were more interested in something a little more hardcore, as Savannah Sunshine tried to give Alyssa Grace permanent brain damage.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh my!
BEST MOMENT - Elena DeDraca moves to Proving Ground
RUNNER UP - The Closing of Proving Ground
JAMES EDGEBROOK: There was no bigger news during the week than when Adam Ekaterin announced Elena DeDraca’s move from Fallout to Proving Ground. The British Raven has been a staple of Fallout for the past year, and fans are salivating at the thought of her conquering new territory.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Elena was involved in the runner up as well, as all heck broke loose at the end of Proving Ground. Please forgive my language, by the way.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: We saw The True Society beat down Big Drip Worldwide, Ratman stand tall against insurmountable odds, and Adam Ekaterin lay down the law with his announcements for The Crowning II.
BEST MATCH - Fallout’s Throne of Blood Match
RUNNER UP - Fallout’s Ascension Title Main Event
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Proving Ground had its share of exciting contests, but while voting for those matches was all over the place, two matches stood head and shoulders above the rest on Fallout. The Throne of Blood Match was a favorite among a large number of fans, with the Ascension Title Match following close behind.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: I just couldn’t bring myself to watch either of them. That much violence creates turmoil with my digestion. I did pray for all of those involved, however.
SUPERSTAR OF THE WEEK - Slade Castle
RUNNER UP - Billy Bennett
JAMES EDGEBROOK: You can count the number of Project: Honor superstars who have beaten Elena in singles competition on one hand. While he may have had some outside help, Slade Castle is now among those elite few. That upset victory made him the superstar of the week in the eyes of many, and I can’t really argue with it.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Only Billy Bennett came close with her win in that dreadful Throne of Blood Match. I hope both Slade and Billy find inner peace and embrace the spirit of sweet Baby Jesus in the weeks ahead.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s…very kind of you, Julius. We’ll be right back with Lou Robertson’s exclusive interview with Lexi Gold, so don’t change that dial!
LOU ROBERTSON: Welcome to a very special interview segment on this week’s F’n Edge, I’m Lou Robertson. Tonight, I have a very special guest with me in the studio. While she is somewhat of a new face on Proving Ground, Lexi Gold has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in Professional Wrestling. Lexi, thank you for taking the time to talk with me today.
She walks into the frame wearing a beautiful tassel diamond dress with matching heels and takes a seat with a smile on her face.
LEXI GOLD: No problem. I'm happy to be here.
LOU ROBERTSON: Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, tell us a little about your wrestling background and what you’re bringing to the table for the fans of Project: Honor.
LEXI GOLD: I started wrestling in 2019. I wrestled for a few companies for a few years, but didn't really branch out all that much, because I felt happy with the places I was in. It wasn't until this year when I felt like I wanted to see what other opportunities were out there for me. I've been following the Project: Honor Twitter account for a while now and I also would occasionally catch a video of their shows, so I was somewhat familiar with it. It definitely piqued my interest every time.
She pauses and brushes her hair back before she continues to speak.
This company has one of the best rosters in the world, so it's impossible to overlook it. I wanted to be very much involved, so after a few meetings I decided to sign on the dotted line and the rest is history. As far as what I am bringing to the table, I'm bringing in respect, determination, and most importantly the ability to stand up for myself if needed.
LOU ROBERTSON: Your brief time with us on Proving Ground has already created some interesting situations. We’ll get to Giovanni in a moment, but first, what are your thoughts on Douglas Crane? This bizarre individual seemed to target you as a future contender to the Warrior Rising Championship, and it seems as if he wanted to eliminate you from that scene preemptively.
LEXI GOLD: He can target me however he chooses. At the end of the day, I'm going to pull my weight at The Crowning. I just hope he has it in him to do the same for his match.
She adjusts herself in her seat and grins.
LOU ROBERTSON: Let’s discuss your upcoming opponent at The Crowning II Pay-Per-View. Giovanni has been a consistent thorn in your side as of late. What are your thoughts on the self-proclaimed artist, and what does it mean to have a one-on-one shot against him?
LEXI GOLD: If you look past that cowardly, egotistical act, I see a lot of potential in him and I could see him holding so much gold. Unfortunately, I think he is stuck with his ways, and I doubt anyone is going to change how he is as a person. I doubt this match will change him either. I am not worried, though. I am focusing more on my well-being and heading in there with the intention of continuing to prove my dominance.
LOU ROBERTSON: Giovanni currently has 2 opportunities at the Warrior Rising Championship, one that earned in a tag team match, and another granted to him by Sonya Benson. I’ve been told that Giovanni is willing to put one of those shots on the line when he faces you at the Crowning. Thoughts?
LEXI GOLD: If it happens, it happens and if it doesn't, I'm totally fine with that too. One thing you will realize about me is I'm not one to bitch, moan, or throw a hissy fit if I don't have a championship to my name. When the day comes where I do earn it, then I'd be very appreciative and show why I earned it and earned it the correct way, no easy handouts, or favoritism involved. That's how I prefer things now and forever.
LOU ROBERTSON: With Giovanni and Douglas Crane aside, who are some of the other Project: Honor stars you’re looking forward to facing?
She rubs her chin and carefully thinks over this question before answering.
LEXI GOLD: There are so many I could name at the top of my head, but the first person that comes to mind is Tara Fenix. I know I've had the privilege of teaming with her before. I feel like if you put both of us on opposite sides of the ring, we could blow the roof off any building. MYOJIN is another person I could see myself having a great match with. He's naturally gifted, and his performances are incredible to witness, and last but certainly not least, I'd be crazy not to include Emmanuelle. She is a workhorse and tough as nails, but I welcome the best.
LOU ROBERTSON: As we wrap up our time together, share with us your goals on Proving Ground and in Project: Honor as a whole.
LEXI GOLD: My goal is to continue to work hard and improve in any way I can so one day I can be at the top and be thankful for the many highs and lows life has brought me.
LOU ROBERTSON: I’d like to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to join me today, Lexi. It was a pleasure having you as my guest. Any final thoughts to share?
LEXI GOLD: Thank you to everyone who has been supportive of my career thus far.
LOU ROBERTSON: There you have it, directly from one of Proving Ground’s rising stars, Lexi Gold. And on a personal note, I’d just like to thank you for leaving the pet snakes at home. The F’n Edge will be right back with James and Julius revealing their predictions for The Crowning II alongside a very special guest of their own.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, we do! Ladies and gentlemen, it fills my heart with joy to introduce one of my dearest friends! This man convinced me to fight by his side in Wargames, even though I deeply despise violence in all shapes and sizes. Please welcome…Percival “Ratman” Burque!
“Rats” by Ghost begins to play, as Percy walks into the studio with a smile on his face. As he draws closer to the co-hosts, we can see that Julius is placing some lace doilies on his desk. He then produces a pair of teacups and saucers from a desk drawer, before finally setting a fancy tea kettle in the center. Julius and Percy then exchange a big hug and sway back and forth, as if neither wants to let the other one go. Finally, Percy’s music fades away and he takes a seat right alongside his KaVengers’ teammate.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Well, this is quite a surprise. Welcome to the show, Percival.
RATMAN: Thank you, Jimmy. I’m a big fan.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Heh…of course you are. Now before we get started, I should point out that both Julius and I had six correct predictions regarding last week’s shows, bringing our current tally to forty-three correct predictions for Julius and thirty-eight correct predictions for myself.
JAMES EDGEBROOK - 38 CORRECT PREDICTIONS
JULIUS FAIR/FOUL/FINEWEATHER - 43 CORRECT PREDICTIONS
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, how lovely!
RATMAN: Congratulations, friend!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: But that’s all going to change this week, because I’ve studied The Crowning II card inside and out! Prepare for my comeback!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: There will be a Battle Royal featuring the stars of Pursuit of the Ring on the preshow, but as we usually stick to just Fallout and Proving Ground, we’ll skip that one for now. Instead, let’s take a look at our opening match for the Gatekeeper Championship. I’ve got to say, Henry Lee Hyde has been an impressive champion so far, and I don’t see him losing the belt, even against two former champions.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Well, isn’t that special. Good choice, James. I, however, must disagree. While I don’t care for his use of bricks or his bad attitude, it seems like Angelo Caito is hungry to regain the title. I’ll pick him and pray for his success.
RATMAN: Well said, friend! I hate to disagree with you since I’m your guest, but I’m picking the big man who says ‘hey, boy’. I think he wants the title back even more than the brick man, and he was also able to beat two members of the KaVengers on Fallout last week! What an amazing accomplishment!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: This feud has been brewing for several weeks now, and Lexi Gold finally has the chance to get her hands on Giovanni one-on-one. I just don’t see how she cna let that opportunity pass her by. With one of Giovanni’s Warrior Rising opportunities at stake, Lexi has twice the motivation to kick his ass.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Language!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Oh…sorry, I guess?
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: I forgive you, James. I could never be mad at you. I also agree that Lexi Gold will win this match. Giovanni has been so rude and disrespectful to her, and she’s such a lovely young woman!
RATMAN: I, Ratman, Wrestling Supreme, also pick the pretty blonde lady to beat the fancy pants friend of my favorite former childhood movie star.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: A clean sweep for Lexi in the predictions? Interesting…
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Common sense would say that Casanova English is the safe bet, but I’m predicting a slight upset here. Douglas Crane has been looking forward to this opportunity since he joined the company, and I think he has what it takes to become the new champion. The fact that Casanova doesn’t have to be pinned to lose the title only makes Crane more of a favorite in my eyes.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: That’s a very well-thought-out choice, James. I’m tempted to agree, but I see someone else as a likely new champion. LeeAnn Morgan will want to avenge her loss to Crane, and what better way to do it than by winning the title he so desperately wants?
RATMAN: Hmmm…you both make a good point. After listening to your points, Ratman chooses the pretty English lady.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: You mean Betsy Galagher?
RATMAN: Yes, pretty English lady is what Ratman said, Jimmy.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: There is so much bad blood in this match that it’s difficult to call. After much consideration, I’m picking Alyssa Grace to finally capture the gold. Jasan and Savannah will be too preoccupied with each other, and she’ll slip in the backdoor to outsmart both of them.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh my. I hope this one doesn’t get too violent. Once upon a time, I would have chosen Savannah, but she’s given in to her hate and now she just makes me sad. On the other hand, I have so much sympathy for what Jason Long is going through, so he is my sentimental favorite. Jason will overcome his inner demons and retain the title in the process.
RATMAN: Ratman likes candy, so Ratman also likes the Candyland Queen. I’m picking her to put boots to butts and win the title.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Let’s face it, guys. This one is a crapshoot. With twenty-one competitors entering at random times during the match, it’s extremely difficult to pick one winner. Champions like Havoc and Mr. Wright have to be odds-on favorites, but I think we’re going to see a dark horse emerge with the Tyrant’s Crown. Sonya Benson may not have the in-ring skill, but she has the looks and resources to get exactly what she wants. I think that’s exactly what will happen as Sonya becomes the Tyrant of Project: Honor.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, how dreadful that would be! That woman is simply not in tune with the sweet Baby Jesus. I do agree that a dark horse is the way to go, however. That’s why I’m picking the one and only Pat the Postman!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: What? He’s not even booked in the match…
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: But what would a match like this be without surprises? Pat comes back to spread love and joy to children around the world!
RATMAN: Hmmm…as much as I would love to see Pat win the match and go on to join The KaVengers, it may be too much of a stretch. Ratman looks at the line-up and the one who stands out the most is the one Ratman cannot see. The winner will be Big Match John Blade, hero of the people and benevolent Tyrant of Project: Honor!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Oh boy. Arik Holt is gonna get his ass…er…behind kicked by Elena DeDraca. We all know Arik will have something up his sleeve, but Adam Ekaterin has gone out of his way to make sure this will be a one-on-one match. If that is indeed the case, Arik doesn’t have a cold chance in hell…er…heck.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: That evil little man has had this coming to him for a long time. He has put Elena in unwinnable situations and robbed her of victory. Now he gets his comeuppance as Elena earns redemption.
RATMAN: Ratman really likes pretty English ladies. Ratman will continue to pick them as winners.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: A clean sweep for Elena as well, although that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: This is the biggest title match scheduled on the card, and I’m expecting it to be one of the best one-on-one encounters we’ve seen this year. The two out of three fall stipulation makes it tough to call, but we’ve seen Emmanuelle outsmart Arata before, and I think she can do it again. I’m picking Emmanuelle to retain in this one, but she’s not going to have an easy time doing it.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Arata Asakura is such an angry man. Emmanuelle isn’t much nicer, but she is nice enough to get my vote. I only hope they give each other a big hug when it’s all over so that we are all winners.
RATMAN: I agree that Arata is mean, but he also hates Gaijins. Ratman does not know what a Gaijin is, but I probably don’t like them either. That makes Arata and Ratman a lot alike. We are almost brothers! Ratman picks Arata Asakura.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: And that brings us to our main event. Initially, I really liked Big Drip Worldwide’s chances, but with the recent news that Ozymandias has been arrested and replaced in this match by Lil’ Petey, I’m starting to see things differently. As they showed us on Proving Ground, if the True Society is united, there is no one who can stand against them. With that in mind, I have to pick True Society emerging as Project: Honor’s dominant stable.
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, James. Choosing such terrible people is beyond my ability to forgive. I only hope that sweet Baby Jesus can help you see the light. I actually like Big Drip Worldwide’s chances even more now that they have a true leader in Lil’ Petey. Still, I cannot bring myself to overlook the power of friendship. The KaVengers welcomed me when no one else would, and that’s why I proudly predict them to win!
RATMAN: We are not the strongest. We are not the fastest or smartest. We are not the best wrestlers in the match, but we have something the other teams don’t have. We have each other! All we wanted was a group of our own so we wouldn’t be kicked out of catering, and if we have to beat the other teams to fulfill our destiny, that is what we shall do! They may try to hurt us, Julius…
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: …oh?
RATMAN: …they may try to pummel us…
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh my!
RATMAN: …but they will never destroy the power of friendship! KaVengers for the win!
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: Oh, amen, brother Percy! Amen!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Well, that was predictable. Thank you for joining us, everyone! For Lou Robertson, Julius Fineweather, and Percival Burque, this is James Edgebrook saying goodnight and…
JULIUS FINEWEATHER: …God bless you all! Hallelujah!
