So, to make a long story short and for those who aren't familiar with Lexi's story. Lexi and her older sister were placed in an orphanage when they were younger and were later adopted into a new family. For years she struggled with finding her biological parents until sometime last year when she discovered, but as grateful for that as she was, part of her still felt like there were some missing pieces of their story she hadn't discovered yet.
Nevertheless, in a few minutes she is supposed to meet her real father for breakfast, so she quickly needs to finish getting ready. She rushed to her bedroom and attempted to find her sneakers, struggling to locate them. It turns out they got shoved under her bed. She retrieves them and puts them on her feet, then grabs her keys off her dresser and makes her downstairs and sets off to locate the restaurant.
Once at the restaurant, Lexi sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather LA had to offer. While she waited for her father's arrival she sipped on her tea and looked down at her phone. Her eyes looked up and her father was standing across from her, leaned in for a hug, then pulled up a chair and the two smiled at one another before engaging in a conversation.
Elliot Gold: “Nice little restaurant. Do you come to this one often?”
Lexi Gold: “This is my first time coming here actually. I saw it had a good review online so why not try it.”
She set her phone down and looked at the menu, then decided what she wanted before glancing at her father as his face was still buried in his menu. She didn't want to immediately dive into any questions, so it was best to wait. The waiter came to their table and took their drink order. Lexi smiled while she looked at him, thinking about how great it was to be reunited with him again and to share a moment like this.
Elliot Gold: “How's the wrestling coming along for you? I'm sure it is taking up a lot of your free time.”
Lexi Gold: “It's keeping me very busy for sure, but this is what I dreamed of doing for so long, so I won't complain and instead I'm just counting my blessings.”
He nods his head in approval, happy for his daughter living out her dream while he stands by and supports her. Meanwhile, the waiter arrives with their drinks and takes their food order followed by their menus. She took a long, slow sip of her drink and relaxed back in her chair. The questions were eating her up inside until she couldn't help, but blurt out the first one that came to mind.
Lexi Gold: “You never told me why you and mom decided to place me and Leslie in that orphanage. Is it because we were too much to handle?”
Elliot Gold: “Lex…”
Lexi Gold: “Please… I'd really like a straightforward honest answer.”
He sighs, unsure how to answer that question without sounding like the worst father ever, but she also deserved to know.
Elliot Gold: “You and your sister were great kids that could have entered our lives, but at the same time we weren't ready for the responsibility it brought us. You both deserved better and as hard of a decision it was we felt it was only right for the both of you to enter into a new family that could care for you and Leslie.”
She looks a bit taken back by that answer, but she respected his honesty. The old her would have blown a fuse over that answer, but that's not how she wants to live her life now.
Lexi Gold: “I understand now. For years it bothered me. I didn't understand why, and did it make me angry? Yes, but I've grown up over the years and have been trying to better myself and be forgiving, so I forgive you. I love you, dad. Just know that okay?”
Elliot Gold: “I love you too, sweetheart.”
They get up and lean forward over the table for another hug. Just as they did the food arrives unexpectedly. They laugh and sit back down and enjoy their meal, her dad noticing the snake necklace around her neck.
Elliot Gold: “I never would have pictured you as someone who is fond of snakes.”
Lexi shovels food into her mouth, then wipes it and chuckles.
Lexi Gold: “There is a lot that you don't know about me, but we will discuss them another time. For now let us enjoy this moment together.”
Elliot Gold: “Sounds good to me! I can't wait to hear more about you.”
They continued enjoying their food while laughing and engaging in different topics as the screen faded to black.
“Normally I would be super cheerful over my win last week against Stella Jade. However, instead I am left with a bittersweet moment to hold onto. While I'm appreciative I had a great opponent that showed the same respect back, it almost felt like I cheated my way to a victory, but I didn't which is the weird part. I blame Giovanni and his group for creating that paranoia in my mind. Good job.”
She shakes her head in disgust after thinking about their actions last week, but tries to block out that image in her head as she continues speaking.
“However, I will not let that idea rule over me. I'm in a better position than I was last year and I at least owned up to my mistakes. Something you and your goon squad failed to do, Gio. I'm sure by now you are laughing somewhere at the situation and even applauding your work, but guess what? I'll be the last one laughing when I get my hands on all of you in the match. That even includes you Sonya Benson.”
She takes a deep breath and stares into the camera intensely.
“It is unfortunate you have to be involved in this situation, but I'm going to grow eyes in the back of my head to ensure you don't attack me when I'm not expecting it like the snake in the grass that you are. I know your past history in other other places and I also know how vocal you can get, but guess what, daddy's princess?”
“So can I. I make sure to back it up through my actions though. This match will not be an exception. Sonya, just know I won't take you lightly. I know you and your partners will do whatever it takes to win even if it involves cheating, but that's where me and my partners will come in and prevent that from happening.”
She brushes her hair away from her face and looks down at her thumbs, recalling her past reactions when someone would mention the word partners to her.
“I used to be against the idea of having tag partners. I thought the idea was dumb, but I'm willing to put those assumptions behind me and give it another chance again. I realize I don't have to go out of my way to befriend Tara Fenix nor Brandon Hendrix, but at least the respect will be shown on my end. I'm sure they along with the fans are tired of the mockery and the disrespect being shown night in and night out by our opponents, so it is only best we make things right by fighting the good fight while kicking ass all over that ring and ultimately clearing out the ring and leaving the rightful winners to celebrate.”
“The world will bear witness to a collective unit who will not play games when that bell rings, or hide behind one another like cowardly human beings. Instead, our actions are to be taken seriously and will prove to be effective and to the point. I hope you've come prepared.”
Nevertheless, in a few minutes she is supposed to meet her real father for breakfast, so she quickly needs to finish getting ready.
