As the graphics and music fade away, we see James Edgebrook seated behind the double desk he normally shares with Julius Fairweather, but his co-host is nowhere to be seen.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Welcome to another edition of The F’n Edge. I’m your host, James Edgebrook, and it looks as if I may be going solo tonight…
Just then, the lights in the studio are dimmed as a pipe organ plays the ominous “Phantom of the Opera Overture”. Then, with a methodical pace, we see the man formerly known as Julius Fairweather walk onto the set. His eyes are clouded over by an opaque fog and his previously bald head is now covered by a patch of white hair that stands on end. He moves toward the desk with his unblinking gaze set on James Edgebrook.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: What the fu…
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Good evening, James. I apologize for my tardiness, but I happened upon a lost kitten on my way into the studio. Feeling it’s delicate spine crack under the heel of my boot brought me such overwhelming pleasure that I simply lost track of time.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: ….are you feeling okay?
Julius takes his seat as a flabbergasted Edgebrook looks at him with concern.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: I’ve never felt better, James. In fact, I believe the virgin blood of that unfortunate feline has given me a vigor unlike any I’ve previously felt.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: No…you didn’t…
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Oh yes, I did. Now then, shall we begin our program?
Edgebrook, flushed with a greenish hue, cannot help but stare at the traces of animal blood on his co-host’s chin.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: I…uh…think I’m gonna need a second. Commercial!!
Back from commercial break, we can see that the appropriate color has returned to James’ face. Seated across from him at their joint desk with the digital monitor hanging between them, Julius Foulweather has his hands clasped on top of the desk while he stares bug-eyed at the camera.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Ah, Casanova English. That is a young man with exquisite taste. If only everyone could display his refined qualities.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Right…um…welcome back to The F’n Edge, everyone. It seems like we may be in for an interesting night, so how about we get started with this week’s Elite 10? Before we jump into that number 10 spot, we should give out a couple of honorable mentions. First, LeeAnn Morgan scored a win by disqualification over Angelo Caito, knocking him out of the Elite 10 and propelling herself forward in the process. While she hasn’t cracked the list quite yet, Ms. Morgan may be one to watch in the coming weeks.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: While on Fallout, the fans continue to buzz over the return of Elena DeDraca. While she came just short of winning Fallout’s main event last week, her appearance on Unbreakable Resolution alongside Ozymandias has turned many heads. One does not need to have a blackened heart like myself to see that The British Raven is a threat to everyone on our list this week.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: And now, on to our top ten!
#10 - SONYA BENSON
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Coming in at number 10 is a new face on our list, as Sonya Benson earns her first ranking. As of now, Ms. Benson is undefeated and was also able to score the winning pinfall in an eight-person tag team match, earning herself a future shot at the Warrior Rising Championship. While she may have given that opportunity to Giovanni, it doesn’t erase her accomplishment. After paying off Guy to take a fall and sneaking in to pin an opponent without any attempts at offense, I’m hopeful that we’ll actually see Sonya break out some wrestling moves eventually.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Bah! Wrestling moves are overrated. What Sonya Benson really needs is a loaded gun or a sharp knife. And speaking of glorious homicide…
#9 - JASON LONG
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Jason Long returns to the Elite Ten with his victory in last week’s Fallout Main Event. While I was attempting to enjoy myself by hurling the lovely British Raven off the side of the cage, Jason kept his eye on the prize. It occurs to me that this never would have happened if Arik Holt was better at handling sharp objects. I find when stabbing a victim, that it’s better to go for wounds measured by the dozen than single digits. I beseech you, Arki, to put the knife in my hand next time. Then neither of us will have to see Jason Long on this list again, and the lovely Miss Sunshine would be free to explore her darkest desires…
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Jesus…! Are you sure you’re feeling okay?
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: I assure you, your concern is misplaced. Especially when you should be worried about your own well-being, James…
#8 - CASANOVA ENGLISH
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Um…coming in at number eight is…uh…
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Please, allow me. While he came up short in his championship match against MYOJIN, Casanova English is still a force to be reckoned with. He proved that by leaving his opponent as a quivering mass of flesh in the center of the ring. I only wish Mr. English would have continued to bash MYOJIN’s skull until he was no longer recognizable. Then again, there’s always next time. My congratulations, Mr. English, on continuing to conduct a beautiful symphony of violence as the Warrior Rising Champion.
#7 - ARATA ASAKURA
JAMES EDGEBROOK: At number seven is Arata Asakura, who’s first reign as Grand Champion proved to be a shockingly short one. I emphasize the word first, because something tells me that The One Real Shogun will not let things between him and Emmanuelle end so easily. Despite dropping the strap, it’s still hard to ignore Asakura’s recent success against Tara Fenix and Ozymandias, keeping him firmly in the top ten this week.
#6 - BILLY BENNETT
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Ah, Billy Bennett. What a lovely young woman. It is with great honor that I reveal another member of Arik Holt’s virtuous True Society in this week’s Elite Ten. Not only is Billy still the Noble Champion, but a tag team win alongside Havoc has moved her up in the rankings. It fills my darkened soul with joy to know that individuals with psychotic tendencies have a place on our list. Like Casanova before her, Billy has an impeccable penchant for violence, and that’s something worth celebrating.
#5 - EMMANUELLE
JAMES EDGEBROOK: The new Grand Champion debuts at number five with a shocking victory over Arata Asakura at Unbreakable Resolution. While no one in their right mind would doubt the abilities of the Platinum Standard, her ascension to the top of Proving Ground seemed to come out of nowhere. She’ll have some big challenges ahead of her in the coming weeks, but something tells me she won’t be leaving this list anytime soon.
#4 - MYOJIN
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Blech…MYOJIN. Such a bright light of positivity. My delicate sensitivities are shaken from just having to read their name. You should handle this one, James.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Um…sure. MYOJIN had an impressive title defense at Unbreakable Resolution, overcoming Casanova English when many thought that the Warrior Rising Champion would be walking out of the Pay-Per-View with two belts. Instead, Osaka’s Golden Sun reminded everyone just how good they are by handing English his first pinfall defeat in Project: Honor. With that victory, one has to wonder just how far MYOJIN can take this run as champ. Could there be Grand or even Legacy gold in their sights?
#3 - SYNDICATE
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Syndicate, while no longer our Legacy Champion, remains high upon the Elite Ten list. In a previous life, I had the honor of battling with The Los Angeles Outlaw, and I know that a Picasso of Pain such as himself will not be kept down for long.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Picasso of…?!
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Losing to the avatar of a Great Old One is nothing for Syndicate to be ashamed of, and given the chance, he may rise back up to smother Ozymandias in a tsunami of his own making. Now that he’s free from the shackles that were placed upon him as champion, there’s no telling where Syndicate could focus his ire next…
#2 - HAVOC
JAMES EDGEBROOK: While Arata Asakura and Syndicate were unable to defend their championships successfully at Unbreakable Resolution, Havoc remains as Fallout’s Prime Champion. That could very well change with what lies in store for next week’s show, but until then, no one deserves the second spot on our list more than the Nightmare King. In fact, there was only one thing keeping him from claiming the top spot this week…
#1 - OZYMANDIAS
JAMES EDGEBROOK: …and that was Ozymandias’ victory in Unbreakable Resolution’s main event. It would seem like The Butcher of Reine has had his sights set on the Legacy Championship for a while now, and he made the most of his opportunity. Dethroning Syndicate was no easy task, but that’s exactly what Ozymandias was able to do, not only earning him the most revered championship in Project: Honor, but also the top spot in our Elite Ten.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: “The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.”
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Uh…yeah. What he said. That does it for this week’s Elite Ten! Congratulations to all of those who made the cut and good luck to holding onto those precious spots after the next episodes of Fallout and Proving Ground. We’ll be right back with this week’s Medals of Honor, so don’t go anywhere!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Welcome back! Last week was full of excitement with a new episode of Fallout and Proving Ground’s Unbreakable Resolution Pay-Per-View, which means it’s time for us to hand out some brand-new Medals of Honor!
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Honor? And who are you to determine what is and what is not honorable? When one-man stabs another in the back, is it dishonorable simply because he’s following his true nature?
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That…uh…sounds like a deeper philosophical question than I’m prepared to answer on a wrestling review show…
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: The simple-minded rarely give thought to the implications of their words.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: I think I liked it better when you said motherfucker every other word. At least then you were jovial. Now you’re just…foul.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Now you’re getting it.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Anyway, let’s kick things off with the week’s best promos!
BEST PROMO - Ozymandias’ “Dear Diary…”
RUNNER UP - Emmanuelle’s “Business AND Pleasure”
JAMES EDGEBROOK: In somewhat of a surprising turn of events, Ozymandias went back to his roots and chronicled his struggles as a man torn between two faiths. It was an introspective look into what many see as a masked monster, and it also showed how heavily his match against Syndicate for the Legacy Championship was weighing on his mind.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Another strong outing was delivered by Emmanuelle, as she expounded on her tumultuous relationship with Arata Asakura. If you’re the type of person who’s interested in one’s strength of character, this may have been the promo for you.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: In week filled with top notch material from the likes of Jason Long, Elena DeDraca, MYOJIN, and so many others, I’m sure our judges had a difficult time narrowing the field down to just a winner and a runner up.
BEST SEGMENT - The Grand Entrance of Johnny Levy
RUNNER UP - The debut of Adam Ekaterin
JAMES EDGEBROOK: When it came to segments on both shows, it was hard to overlook the spectacle of Johnny’s Levy’s entrance, especially when you combine it with his post-match antics, including the formation of an alliance between he and Giovanni. It was certainly something to behold, although if I had to sit through something like that every week, I’d probably add a few tablespoons of rat poison to my morning coffee.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: The debut of this new…figurehead…within the Project: Honor power structure received its own fair share of votes. While the new owner of the company remains a mystery, it would seem that Mr. Ekaterin will be speaking on their behalf moving forward. While I personally hope this new position brings him excruciating pain and blood loss, it seems as if some people out there actually enjoy the thought of bringing order to chaos. Detestable.
BEST FEUD - Ozymandias versus Syndicate
RUNNER UP - Arik Holt versus Sanity
JAMES EDGEBROOK: With the Legacy Championship on the line, it’s hard to deny that Ozymandias and Syndicate continue to have one of the most heated rivalries in the company. With the two men meeting up yet again in next week’s Fallout tag team main event, it seems like the bad blood won’t be going away any time soon.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Next is…what kind of mockery is this?! Arik Holt is a man of vision, a passionate man who strives to bring out the best in all of us. To accuse him of insanity is to attack his very character. I won’t even dignify this with a response. In fact, it only makes Arik Holt and his True Society more relatable in my mind. Stay strong, brother Arik.
BEST SPOT - Angelo Caito’s Obsession with Bricks
RUNNER UP - Julius powerbombs Elena off the cage
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Another week, another brick. Angelo Caito’s use of his preferred illegal weapon continues to be a favorite spot amongst fans, whether they like him or not. Adding some fuel to his bricklaying legacy, Angelo not only retained his championship by disqualification for using a brick, but he also revealed himself as the newest member of the True Society. As if those weirdos needed more members…
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: While I would normally be delighted to see my name on this list, it will take more than an honorable mention to bring me joy. Had I broken Elena’s back with my efforts, I may be convinced to smile, but alas, I fear she has already recovered. I can only endeavor to increase my output of violence in the coming weeks, so that I might improve my standing. Perhaps I will peel off my co-host’s face and staple it back to his skull inside-out…
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Let’s…not do that…
BEST MOMENT - Elena DeDraca and Ozymandias Join Forces
RUNNER UP - Angelo Caito Joins True Society
JAMES EDGEBROOK: When it comes to shocking or memorable moments, it’s really hard to measure up to the sight of two elite competitors joining forces. No, I’m not talking about Levy and Giovanni, I’m talking about Elena and Ozymandias. If their mutual display of respect at the end of Unbreakable Resolution was a sign of things to come, everyone on the roster should be very nervous.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: While maybe not as impactful as that alliance, The True Society also welcomed a new member as Angelo Caito joined the team. After fighting against them recently, it appears that Mr. Caito has adopted the philosophy of “if you can’t beat them, join them”. What his addition to the alliance might mean is difficult to determine, but I do love it when birds of prey flock together.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: I’m not sure that’s how the saying goes…
BEST MATCH - Reach for the Stars Match
RUNNER UP - Ozymandias vs. Syndicate
JAMES EDGEBROOK: While Unbreakable Resolution gave us many memorable one-on-one encounters, it’s hard to measure up to a match featuring eight of Fallout’s best and brightest. The Reach for the Stars match was unpredictable and violent, which is just what the fans of the brand have come to expect. There was no topping it this week.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: If anything could come close, it would be a rare contest for the Legacy Championship. Ozymandias and Syndicate gave it their all in and around the ring, ultimately leading to The Butcher of Reine rising from the depths to claim the prize. While I personally would have appreciated more blood and broken bones, this battle of brutality was worth a few laughs.
SUPERSTAR OF THE WEEK - Ozymandias
RUNNER UP - Jason Long
JAMES EDGEBROOK: While he may have to settle for runner up in Match of the Week, there’s no denying that capturing Project: Honor’s biggest prize qualifies Ozymandias as this week’s featured warrior. As far as opponents go, there aren’t many who come any tougher than Syndicate. The era of Ozymandias has begun, and we should all pay homage to champ.
JULIUS FAIRWEATHER: It seems as if the name Jason Long is coming up far too much for my liking, yet here he is again, nipping at the heels of our new Legacy Champion as a runner up. Winning the Reach for the Stars match was impressive, but not quite on the level of becoming Legacy Champion. Of course, Jason Long should be used to that kind of disappointment by now.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s it for our Medals of Honor this week. Congratulations to all the winners, runners-up, and so many more that we simply don’t have time to mention. We’ll be right back after this message for a look at our Fallout and Proving Ground Predictions!
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Before we get started, we should let everyone at home know where we currently stand on our predictions, and oh what a difference a week can make. I was ahead with two wins on our last episode, but it seems like it wasn’t my week to gamble. Julius has pulled ahead, now with thirty correct predictions to my twenty-seven.
JULIUS FAIRWEATHER: Just imagine how many more I’ll have next time, now that I’m much more enlightened than I was two weeks ago.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: It’s also worth pointing out that we both got a point for our Angelo Caito/LeeAnn Morgan predictions. While I chose LeeAnn to win, your prediction was for Angelo to retain his title. Both of those things happened, so we were both winners.
BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS
EARL BOYDE VS. LOGAN BURGESS
JAMES EDGEBROOK: It’s not difficult to pick Earl Boyde here. Burgess has been floundering as of late, while Boyde continues to give strong performances. The fans really seem to like the guy as well. Who would’ve thought that a catch phrase as simple as ‘Hey, Boy’ could catch on?
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: I believe Logan Burgess may be nearing his breaking point, and that can make a man desperate. As they say, desperate men do desperate things. It’s time for him to unleash his inner villain and prove that he belongs here. I predict that Burgess does just that, earning himself a victory.
BIANCA MCBRIDE VS. MICHAEL BISHOP
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: We have had a taste of the violence Michael Bishop is capable of, and I don’t think that McBride can rise to that level. Bishop surely wants to return to the championship hunt, and he will do so at Bianca’s expense.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: I’m going to second that, Julius. I think Bishop is hungrier than Bianca McBride and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he makes an example of her in this match. Sounds like we’re both picking Michael Bishop with the win here.
DRUSCILLA WHITE VS. SAVANNAH SUNSHINE
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: My other self-tested Druscilla White and found her wanting. While I have a newfound respect and admiration for Arik Holt’s True Society, I fear that he’s become lax in membership requirements. Savannah Sunshine will take advantage of this and make an example of White in the process, further damaging the True Society’s reputation. Such a shame.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Druscilla has that killer instinct that Savannah seems to keep locked away, and that could be the deciding factor. It’s a close fight but being a part of True Society might just be what helps Druscilla get the victory. Even if it’s with added shenanigans, I’m picking Druscilla White in a close contest.
HAVOC, BILLY BENNETT, ANGELO CAITO, SYNDICATE, AND CASANOVA ENGLISH AND ?? VS. ELENA DEDRACA, JASON LONG, HENRY LEE HYDE, ALYSSA GRACE, MR. WRIGHT, AND OZYMANDIAS
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Here’s the big one. With so many titles on the line and so many participants, we’ve decided to make things interesting by making picks for who we think will walk away with each of the prizes up for grabs. With Valkyrie’s recent firing, there is an empty spot on the True Society’s team, but I wouldn’t put it past Arik Holt to have a superior replacement in mind before the event goes down.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: A superior replacement? That shouldn’t be difficult. I’m tempted to volunteer myself, but that would be like replacing a toddler in a plastic Viking helmet with the God of Mischief himself.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: I think the constant upheavals in the ranks of the True Society are going to have an impact here. With that in mind, I’m picking Alyssa Grace to walk out as the Prime Champion, Jason Long as the new Noble Champion, Mr. Wright laying claim to the Ascension Championship, and Elena DeDraca capturing Syndicate’s Universal Briefcase. That’s not to say that the True Society will be totally empty handed, because I’m picking Syndicate to get his hands on the Gatekeeper Championship.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: James Edgebrook, you have once again proven yourself to be a monkey amongst men. Those choices make absolutely no sense. Allow me to retort with a more logical outcome. The diabolical Havoc will retain the Prime Championship just like Billy Bennett will break the curse of the Noble Title with a victory of her own. From there, Casanova English will achieve his dreams of becoming a double champion when he wins the Ascension Title. Finally, the True Society will show their dominance with Angelo Caito and Syndicate retaining their prizes as well. The True Society has only been made stronger by the recent departures while their opponents are an odd collection of egomaniacs who will never work together effectively. This will be proven during Fallout’s main event.
THE RAT RACE
BETSY GALAGHER VS. SKYLAR RAMSAY
JAMES EDGEBROOK: From there it’s on to Proving Ground, as Percival Burque cashes in his chance to be the brand’s General Manager for an evening. Ratman has booked quite a card, starting off with these two young women in a basic match officiated by Noah Hope. To kick things off, I’m going with Skylar here. I don’t think she’s made quite the impact that she’d hoped for on the blue brand, and she’ll be determined to prevent the newcomer from showing her up.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: You’re assuming that Ramsay will show up at all. She has yet to show the focus needed to advance up the card, while Galagher is a hungry newcomer looking to make her mark. Betsy Galagher will take Skylar Ramsay to school in this match.
LEXI GOLD VS. STELLA JADE
JAMES EDGEBROOK: We have two more newcomers in our next match, but for my money, Lexi Gold is the one to watch here. She’s already had an impressive career elsewhere and she arrived on Proving Ground with some fanfare behind her. Stella on the other hand, may have been the weak link on her team at Unbreakable Resolution. I say Lexi picks up the win and starts to set her sights on some of Proving Ground’s championship gold.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: To be honest, both women are far too nice for my tastes. If Lexi had brought some snakes or spiders along for the ride, perhaps I would appreciate her more. Instead, she insists on trying to be a good person. Ugh…it’s so offensive. I’ll choose Stella Jade with the slim hope that she’s slightly more of a wicked witch than her opponent.
GOLD AND PLATINUM VS. THE PHANTOM TROUPE
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Hmmm. A tag team match consisting of two teams that cannot hope to match Slade Castle and myself. In the end, it doesn’t matter which of them win, because they will never be the Tag Team Champions. I’ll choose the Phantom Troupe, simply because Emmanuelle’s ego will have expanded after her recent victory, fracturing her occasional partnership with MYOJIN once and for all.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s quite a bold prediction, but one I don’t agree with in the slightest. All four competitors are coming off of big wins at Unbreakable Resolution, but the momentum has to be greater for Emmanuelle and MYOJIN. The Phantom Troupe were impressive on Pay-Per-View, but I don’t see how you can compare Pepper Jack Cheese with Gold and Platinum. Emmy and MYO are taking this one all the way.
DIANA VS. LEEANN MORGAN
JAMES EDGEBROOK: In a way, this one is a rematch of sorts. A few weeks back, Diana was victorious in a four-way Pole Match that LeeAnn was also involved in. That’s the only loss marring LeeAnn’s record thus far, and I don’t think she’s forgotten it. Plus, she has to have some built-up frustration with the way Angelo kept his title at the Pay-Per-View. LeeAnn avenges her loss here.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: LeeAnn Morgan must be filled with great vengeance and furious anger…
Julius pauses for a moment, as if he’s confused. He then seems to shake off that confusion just as quickly as it emerged.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: *Ahem* As I was saying, LeeAnn Morgan will have a vendetta in this match, and there’s nothing Diana will be able to do to stop her.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s it? Are you okay?
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: Exquisite. Next match.
GIOVANNI, JOHNNY LEVY, AND SONYA BENSON VS. ARCHIMEDES J. MANSON, SWINDLE SHELLDRAKE, AND TJ THOMPSON
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Looking at this match, I think we need to accept the fact that the Big Drip Alliance isn’t shaping up to be as strong as we’d hoped. That’s nothing against their individual members, but we have yet to see them show the same kind of team mentality that the True Society has. This is their opportunity to turn things around and build some momentum, so I’m picking Archie, TJ, and Swindle in this one. If they can send a message to the True Society with a win here, and maybe show some unity with Ozymandias and MYOJIN…well…it could really turn things around in a hurry.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: That’s nothing more than wishful thinking on your behalf. The new alliance between Giovanni and Johnny Levy will make both men stronger, and if they continue to complement their team with competitors like Sonya Benson, they will only grow stronger. Defeating their opponents this week will be their first step towards greater glory.
OFFICER GREYFIELD VS. TARA FENIX
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: While we continue to wait with bated breath to see when and where Tara Fenix will cash in her opportunity at the Grand Championship, The Phoenix Queen continues to impress in the ring. A strong victory last week was helpful in putting recent setbacks behind her. I cannot see Officer Greyfield halting her momentum, no matter what kind of underhanded tricks he may employ.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: You’re wrong on this one, Julius. There’s something about Officer Greyfield that I just can’t get enough of, whether he’s punishing perps with his nightstick or beating up his own tag team partners. Tara will serve hard time at this week’s Proving Ground, and Greyfield will advance his own position in the process.
PEPPER JACK CHEESE VS. SLADE CASTLE AND JULIUS FOULWEATHER
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Finally, we come to our last match of the week for the Project: Honor Tag Team Championships. As the man in charge, Percival has booked himself and his tag team partner, Serrano Poblano, for a shot at the belts held by my co-host and his partner, Slade Castle. So far, Pepper Jack Cheese haven’t won a single match as a team and they’re coming off a tough loss at Unbreakable Resolution. Still, there’s something about those two that just makes me hopeful. It may be a crazy prediction, they may be massive underdogs, but I’m fully behind Percival and Serrano here. It’s the kind of heart-warming underdog story the company needs right now, and I can’t wait to see it unfold.
For a moment, there is absolute silence as Julius stares across the desk at his co-host, his eyes filled with hatred.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: How…dare…you? To choose a sewer-dwelling freak and an obese hipster over myself and the heroic Slade Castle? You, sir, are just as ignorant as our opponents.
Julius slowly rises from his chair and it’s impossible to ignore the nervousness on James Edgebrook’s face.
JULIUS FOULWEATHER: We are not only going to defeat them, but we will embarrass them. We will break their spirits and force them to realize that the power of friendship is a farce. They will be broken and bloodied physically…obliterated mentally…and ultimately decimated in the name of everything that is evil and unholy! Then, with their blood still staining my lips, I will return here in two weeks and give you a mere taste of the atrocities that they’ve suffered! You will rue the day you spoke out against me, James Edgebrook!
With that, Julius spins away from the desk and marches off the set, leaving James Edgebrook all alone.
JAMES EDGEBROOK: Uh…that about does it for this week. Before we close this edition of the F’n Edge, I’d like to remind you all that Project: Honor Cares is an outreach program where the warriors you see in the ring tackle important issues that you may face at home. With that in mind, here’s our latest PSA from not other than Earl Boyde…
JAMES EDGEBROOK: That’s a message we should all remember as we fight the post-holiday bulge. So for my confused co-host, this is James Edgebrook saying be kind to each other, and be kind to yourself. Goodnight!
