Present somewhere along the coast of Lake Huron
The camera feed begins with Slade is sitting in his car staring ahead out the window. The camera begins to pan around showing that the car is sitting on a ledge overlooking Lake Huron miles away from Detroit, the usual setting we see Slade. Slade's hand is furiously tapping his steering wheel but Slade doesn't look angry. He appears to be lost in thought.
Slade Castle: I'm not gonna lie to you all. I couldn't give a single shit about this match. I'm just not sure my heart is in it. I've been reassessing what I'm doing here. Why I've made the choices I have. Who is Slade Castle? I don't know any better than any of you. When I came home from... well, I can't actually say... All of my friends were dead, I had no family, the military didn't want me anymore, and really, I had nothing to live for. Purpose. Purpose is what I've been fighting to achieve. I keep telling myself that if I just keep my head down and fists up eventually I'll find it. Is that purpose with True Society? Maybe. This may very well be what I was destined to do. If this is my destiny though, than why is it my own "teammate" that took the Noble Championship from me. Now, I'm thrown into this match with all these perceived top talents. I'm sure they are as tough as everyone seems to think they are. Any other day, maybe I'd see this as an opportunity to continue to prove myself. Right now though, I got nothing to prove? I'm just gonna fight to see where this takes me. For now I have Julius to deal with. Despite being my new tag team partner, I'm sure he has some "great vengeance" or whatever the hell it is he says for me.
Slade runs his hand through his hair brushing it back and leans back into his seat. A glimmer of remorse can be seen in his eyes before he quickly snaps back to his semi usual self.
2 Days Prior at Mental Gardens Institute
Slade Castle: He never showed.
Sarah Green: I'm sure whoever this person is your looking for, you'll find him eventually. I must say, you haven't exactly been very open as to why your searching for him, or what you want with him.
Slade is sitting across from Sarah in her office. A typical check-in that both parties are ready to ease back into from all the chaos that had ensued over the past few weeks.
Slade Castle: I'm not sure I'm ready to tell you the why but to be honest... I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when I find him either.
Sarah Green: Well why don't you get your emotions in check before you do. He has really had you in a spiral as of late. I know you try to hide it but...
Slade Castle: I don't hide shit. I just don't trust most people to let them see that side of myself.
Sarah Green: Maybe this new tag team partner will be a good chance to do that? I saw you won the tag team championships.
Slade sort of shakes his head in confusion.
Slade Castle: You want me to open up to Julius goddamn Fairweather? Are you crazy? Julie hates my guts right now. I'm not sure there's gonna be much in the way of talking right now anyways. Plus, didn't I tell you not to watch those shows?
Sarah smiles and laughs nervously.
Sarah Green: While I may have started watching because of you, doesn't mean that's the only reason I watch. I became somewhat of a fan.
Slade Castle: Oh god...
Slade pauses for a moment and sits with the feeling of discomfort.
Slade Castle: At least tell me you haven't chosen any...
Sarah Green: I really like that Jason Long guy, he's kinda cute too.
Slade cringes the moment Sarah says Jason's name.
Slade Castle: You know I'm against him at the next show right? Me and him ain't exactly on the best terms right now either.
Sarah Green: Don't worry, as long as your in the ring I'm rooting for you.
Slade Castle: That's not what I'm... Oh forget it.
Back to Present
Slade Castle: I mean, look at the people I have to go against. First we got Jacob Steele and Matt Knox, don't know who the fuck they are but I'm sure they've done something to earn spots in this match. Then we got Savannah whom I can't escape apparently, although I know I can beat her as I've done time and time again. Fellow stablemate Drucilla is in the match, but at this point after what happened with Bennet I'm really starting to wonder if that actually means anything. Jason Long who put me on my ass at the Purge. Probably deserved after I had that free win off him a few months back. Elena Dedraca who is a former Legacy champion and one with a decent reign at that. Then, of course, Julius.
Slade shakes his head.
Slade Castle: I understand the importance of this match, I really do. Now just isn't the time for me. This match, and I can't believe I'm saying this, is a real challenge. I can go in there, and I can have all the fun I want breaking faces, but if I can't figure out why I'm here than why am I doing this at all?
Slade grips the wheel tightly as he turns the key in the ignition firing up the car. The camera begins to shake as the cameraman gets nervous as the car is very close to the ledge.
Slade Castle: You can chill man. I'm not so depressed that I'm gonna drive off the cliff or some shit. Just reassessing is all.
Slade looks back to his view over Lake Huron.
Slade Castle: I like to come out to this place when I just need silence and a place to think. It's peaceful.
They sit there for a few moments before Slade looks back to the camera.
Slade Castle: You know what? Fuck it. I wish you all the best of luck in this monstrosity of a match. Yeah, all of you. May the best fighter win.
Slade begins to back out of his spot as the camera begins to fade to black.
