“I don’t know if I want to go back in there again. It’s cold, creepy and it is dark..”
She sat down on the edge of her bed inside of her Los Angeles home as her snake wrapped itself around her arm and flicked its tongue at her. She stroked it and looked around unsure about some things as she continued talking to the snake.
“I just worry that if I go inside it I will start to have those feelings again.”
“…”
“I suppose you are right. Sometimes you gotta take risks. This is a BIG risk…”
She sighed deeply and got up off the bed. Her snake unwrapped himself from her and slithered his way back inside his tank as she watched on for a bit before she walked to her closet to retrieve her leather jacket followed by some keys, then zipped up her jacket and stepped foot out the door and left her room as she made her way down the long flight of steps and went out the door. At this point of time it was already night, and quiet for the most part. She reached into her jacket pocket and grabbed the keys then clutched it tightly in her hand as she began walking to the side of the house and eventually she came across a shed. It was closed and had a lock on it to keep intruders away, so she attempted to open it up, but because it was pitch black out, the struggle to find the hole became apparent. After a few minutes went by, Lexi entered the shed and grabbed the nearest flashlight, turning it on and the light is shown on posters that are hanging on some rope with clothespins holding them up.
“What the hell was I even thinking?” She muttered to herself, and sighed under her breath.
These weren’t just any posters; however, they contained images of what appeared to be promo pictures of various wrestlers with spiders attached to their faces and the words NEXT written in big bold letters. She pulled one down and looked it over, shocked at herself that she would go this far. Eventually, she grew tired of seeing it, so she started ripping up the poster in half along with the rest of them as she watched the last remaining pieces fall to the ground. Next, she turns her head to notice in the corner. a metal trash can, she walks over to it and reaches inside to pull out a denim jacket that had blood stains on it. The jacket belonged to her sister, Leslie and she specifically remembered her wearing this on the day Lexi attacked her on the stage in front of the fans and force fed her worms. It was disgusting and uncalled for. As the memories of that day began to become more clearer, Lexi started to sob as she clutched the jacket tightly against her chest, then ran out of that shed with tears streaming down her face. She reached the front of her steps and sat down, then laid the jacket down on her lap as she wiped her tears from her face, taking a moment to put herself together.
“I’m sorry Leslie. I know I can’t go back and change what I did that night, but what I can promise is change. To be a better person just like you even if it kills me. I love you.”
She runs her hands along the buttons of the jacket and takes a deep breath before she gets up and decides to head back inside as the scene fades to black.
Lexi Gold signs with Project:Honor.
“Who would have expected the headlines to read that? I don't think anyone was expecting the news of me signing to the company, but we are entering a new year and it's all about creating new opportunities. I believe Project:Honor is my window of opportunity and looking out from it I see very talented names gracing the shows with their presence, but before I could get into all that along with my opponent I'd like to address something. Most specifically my past.”
She sighs heavily and takes a seat, preparing to go back to some things that may cause a trigger within herself.
“I have danced with the devil before and I ultimately became him is the best way to describe my past. I hurt people. Innocent people, especially my own flesh and blood. It led me to burn so many bridges along the way. It became so scary that people started to fear being around me. My marriage was on the rocks at this time and I struggled with finding ways to resolve it, so I used my anger and sadness and took it out on people.”
She buried her head on her lap, then looked up and looked around as if she was searching for something.
“A couple months ago I was in a match and although I ended up winning it, I thought it was career ending. I was severely beaten and in so much pain. It left me on the sidelines for a bit, but I had time to reflect on my life and I felt like that match was my wake up call to do better and be a better person, so I strived to make that happen. Forward to today…I'm still a work in progress, but I’m happy that I let my past go and I’m moving forward with a mindset and a new opportunity on the horizon here in Project:Honor. That opportunity begins at a pay-per-view known as Unbreakable Resolution.”
She smiles and runs a hand through her blonde hair and gathers her thoughts before continuing to speak.
“I was not expecting to be booked this quickly, but I’m not complaining. In fact I’m grateful they are allowing me to be part of the show even if it's only just a dark match. My opponent is known as Guy. What a simple name to go by. I like it. I’ve come to find that he is a delivery man and has had no experience in the ring before he joined the company. While I can appreciate his honesty, courage and how hardworking he is, I don’t foresee him being able to pick up a victory against me. The effort will be shown on his part, but my ability will prove to be too much for him to overcome, which will lead him to fall in defeat. When I was away from the ring and was in the right headspace I made sure to study, and train excessively to ensure I was ready for a return. I would not allow myself back in the ring if I came unprepared. All my preparations and hard work will be poured into this match, so, guy if you are watching this I hope you had time to prepare too, because I ain’t no walk in the park nor am I someone who is coming in for the fame and money. I’m hungry for competition and the learning experience that comes with it.”
“I want to show people watching my match in particular that you don’t have to be at the top of the card or even a big name to get people invested. If you show up and bring your best to the table regardless if you win or not in the end people will appreciate it and applaud your work. I realize I have many challenges ahead once this match concludes, but I’m ready to face them head on, the good, the bad and the in between it don’t matter, because they are all going to meet a very determined Lexi Gold who will use her pain that she experienced before and use it to shape her into a warrior for all to see. See you at Unbreakable Resolution II.”
The camera gets a close up on the serious expression shown on her face before zooming out and watches her take her leave before the screen turns to black.
