“Amazing grace,
How sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me,
I once was lost, but now I'm found,
Was blind, but now I see…”
The six feet, one inch tall Joseph Blaze stands at the Pulpit, a raised stand for Preachers to preach to their congregation. Out in front of where the bearded, long-haired Joseph stood were the congregation. Every single one of them with a black hooded robe on and all that was visible was a black mask.
It wasn’t a fancy church like most with stained glass windows and other religious artifacts around the place. In fact, it was just some barn that had been converted into a place of worship. Of course, the Pulpit was up on a raised stage in the center looking out upon the congregation.
“That’s true. The Amazing Grace song. Grace my wife was amazing. She was everything to me. Yet she was taken away from me. Taken by a man who chose to give in to his sins. As that Devil juice hit his lips he didn’t stop to think about any of his consequences. Drunk, he got into his truck and thought it was a good idea to go out driving. Only had he not let the temptation of that Devil juice overcome him, my wife would still be here today. The worse thing about it is it was until the accident that I found out my wife was pregnant too, so I lost them both.”
Pausing for a moment to compose himself, Joseph turns away taking a big gulp and hiding the lone tear that fell from his face. Turning to face back towards the congregation, Joseph has a smile upon his face. A smile that clearly hides a lot of pain but one that he feels has the desired effect to show he was okay, kind of.
“So once again, the Amazing Grace song is true. I once was lost, but now I’m found. I was blind, but now I see. That’s only thanks to one person. That person ended up becoming my Savior and today we’re here to celebrate him. All of us are here because in one way or another he has saved us in some way. Take ‘The Protector’ Lurch over there.”
As he finished addressing the congregation, ‘The Messenger’ Joseph Blaze with an open hand points over at the three hundred and ten pound bald-headed guy standing there. Lurch stood at six feet and four inches tall. He was dressed in a blue boiler suit and was very intimidating looking which is probably why he gets the nickname ‘The Protector’ from.
“Our Savior saved Lurch from a life of crime. He was on a sinful path that would’ve led to the end of the world for him. Each and every one of you here have your own story of being saved by our Savior. I know that Lurch and I are the only ones to not wear a mask but our Savior granted that. You see, The Savior has decided to branch out so he picked Lurch and me to help him do that. He was quite capable of doing so himself since you all know our Savior has gone through hell and back yet is still alive and stronger than ever. The reason he has picked Lurch and me is that I’ve been training to wrestle, our Savior has been teaching me. He picked Lurch too to be there as my personal Protector. There are dangers out there that are far too great for me to deal with alone. I will send out a message to those in need of receiving one and I know with our Savior’s guidance and Lurch’s protection I will be able to do so. Our Savior has managed to get me signed up with a company called Project Underground which is a part of Project Honor. Project Honor is one of the biggest wrestling companies out there, saying that they’re probably the biggest out there. Let’s just say that everyone at Project Underground will get the message. Whether it’s through the words of our Savior that I deliver or through the blood and violence that I deliver, it’ll make no difference because the message will be received. There are a lot of sinners who are going to not agree with us and our ways but as sinners do, they will be punished.”
There is now a very sadistic looking smirk upon Joseph’s face as Lurch stands in the background with no emotion whatsoever.
“I will not fail our Savior and I will not fail any of you either. Our message will be sent, our message will be heard and our message will be spread. Project Underground is just the start, there are far too many sinners, so the rivers will be flowing red my brothers and sisters. I’ve said all I need to say, now please welcome our Savior.”
As soon as he’d done addressing the congregation, Joseph gets down on one knee as does Lurch and the congregation. As soon as everyone was on one knee, “Hallelujah” starts to play as in walks The Savior himself.
The Savior makes his way to the Pulpit and stands there looking out at his congregation and signals for them all to rise to their feet. Joseph and Lurch also rise to their feet and take their place beside him. Joseph stood to the right of The Savior as Lurch stood to the left of The Savior.
“I may be your Savior but you all were the ones to accept being saved. Sometimes it takes more persuasion for some than it does for others. This is why I’ve taught Joseph my ways of wrestling and dealing with things. I only wish that I could be the one to go do it but after an unfortunate problem, I can’t. Don’t worry though, I have my full faith in Joseph and Lurch as you all do me. So let’s pray for salvation not only for ourselves but for others out there.”
[ON CAMERA]
The Sermon Of Our Savior was over. The only two left were ‘The Messenger’ Joseph Blaze and ‘The Protector’ Lurch. Lurch was still in his blue boiler suit as he stands in the background. Joseph was once again at the Pulpit as if he was ready to give out another Sermon. Just like earlier, Joseph was dressed in a black leather jacket, a black Skillet t-shirt and blue denim jeans tucked into black combat boots. His hair was done up in a bun like Joseph Seed from Far Cry Five.
“Not long ago I was giving a Sermon to The Savior’s congregation and now I’m about to give a Sermon to my opponent Kuromiya and the rest of Project Underground. There is only one reason why I wanted to become a wrestler and that was to spread the message of my Savior. You’re either with us or against us and I hope for your wellbeing that it’s with us. Accept my Savior as your Savior and he can change your life like he has mine. If you fail to accept him as your Savior, the message that will be sent your way is just what a sinner like you will deserve. You’ll end up covered in blood, I won’t hesitate to get as violent as I have to in the name of my Savior. He trained me to be able to do what I do, to go to the lengths that I will go to, and most of all to be able to accept pain just as much as I’ll dish it out. I will make sure that all the sinners burn in hell because I’m not afraid to play with fire to get the job done if need be. I’ve already been through hell and it wasn’t pretty but I came out the other side stronger than ever.”
Just then Joseph is interrupted by someone walking in who shouldn’t be there. Lurch is quick to respond out of the camera shot. The camera swings around just in time to catch Lurch throwing an unconscious man over his shoulder. Lurch heads out of the barn that was used as a place of worship and closes the barn door behind him. The camera quickly swings back around to Joseph after the cameraman is started by a loud cough from Joseph to get his attention.
“Before I was rudely interrupted by a sinner who will now pay for his sins, let me get back to my Sermon. I have watched wrestling before on television and was a fan but it wasn’t until The Savior saved me that I started to train. I knew from day one of training that it wouldn’t be easy but I knew I was being trained by a man that had that burning desire within him. A man who’s been a champion in wrestling. The guidance of my Savior is all I need and it’s all Kuromiya and the rest of Project Underground need. My long-term goal here in Project Underground is to make sure that the message of my Savior gets out to everyone. I will be starting with Kuromiya who would be smart to ask for forgiveness for their sins. Everyone is worthy of a second chance but if you blow it or don’t accept it, there are punishments The Savior will set upon you. Kuromiya, these are not punishments that have to come your way but they’re punishments that I’m willing to give you. You have until the first show to decide what happens when the match starts. You can accept the offer of being saved or accept that your blood will be spilled in the name of my Savior. Not only that, an example of what will happen to others will be made of you. I have a message to send and one way or another people will accept it.”
After Joseph has bowed his head for a moment, he slowly raises his head up and looks into the camera. The look on his face is one of someone who isn’t staring at you but in fact right through you. The sinister looking corner mouth smirk appears on his face as thoughts race through his mind.
“Kuromiya, I suggest you read the Bible, one verse in particular I suggest too. Hebrews 5:9, And, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. The Savior became the source of my eternal salvation and it can be so that he can become yours too. All you have to do is accept salvation and obey him and you’ll forever be grateful for a better life. Refusing salvation isn’t going to help you or others around you. It’s just going to lead to a lot of people getting burned alive. I look forward to our match because whether you choose to accept or not, I’m still going out there to win in the name of my SAVIOR and to forever accept his SALVATION and to prove that I OBEY him.”
It’s just as ‘The Messenger’ Joseph Blaze finishes addressing Kuromiya and everyone else that screams can be heard. The screams are soon accompanied by the sounds of Joseph’s laughter echoing throughout the barn.
“Those screams you hear are those of a sinner who refuses to accept salvation from The Savior. There are only two options, you accept or you continue to suffer until you burn alive. See you soon Kuromiya.”
The spine chilling laughter of Joseph’s once again echoes throughout the barn as he turns his back to the camera and holds his arms out wide to signal the shape of a cross.
The last thing we see is a quote appearing on the black screen…
“The refusal of salvation leads to a world of punishment, you will burn alive.” - The Savior
