There was a point where many believed that MYOJIN would never finally make it past their bad luck, that they would continue to be a choke artist in Project: Honor despite their success in other wrestling promotions around the world. A growing amount of people had started to truly believe that the Shining Star would never win a championship-
And then they did.
They beat one of the few names in the company to have ever pinned them clean to win the X-Factor Championship at Night of Honor. The first golden belt that they had ever earned- and then the goalpost was moved, some believed that they wouldn't be able to survive their first title defense against Cadillac Jackson at Clash for the Cup.
And then they did.
No matter the pain and soreness from taking high falls onto steel ladders, no matter as many times KaChow tried to interfere- neither him or Jackson were able to stop the Shining Star from reaching up and reclaiming the gold that they had fought an entire years worth of time to earn- and suffice to say, they were proud of themself. Happy over their victory, despite the aches and inevitable bruising. It was worth it. Every moment of it was worth it, as they stared down at the golden reflection of their face within the main plate of the X-Factor Championship. They breathed in and out, sitting within their hotel room as they thought to themself. Though a sudden sting on the small of their back caused them to jolt with a small gasp as they winced, “Ow! (Himari, take it easy on me-!)”
Himari, sitting next to them with a damp cloth raised her hands in defense with a glare on her face. "(It's not my fault that you decided to pick pro wrestling as your job. Now stay still and stop complaining, I'm trying to clean this cut on your back from where you fell. Next time just go to a hospital if I'm doing such a bad job! You know I don't like blood anyways...)” She demanded, MYOJIN sighed, sitting their X-Factor Championship to the side of the bed.
"(Then why are you cleaning me up?)” MYOJIN responded with an annoying grin on their face. Himari- unamused, simply pressed the damp cloth firmly against the scrape on their back.
"(Because I love you and someone has to take care of you because you sure won't, you stupid idiot!)"
"OW! {Okay, okay! I'm sorry, jeez!)”
A few minutes passed of silence as she continued to take care of their small injuries. She finished cleaning the blood as the wound finally stopped bleeding, pressing a few bandaids against the area. MYOJIN took a deep breath before finally laying against the bed, still in their wrestling gear for the night as they stared up at the ceiling. Himari laid down next to them, laying her head against their shoulder with a thoughtful expression on her face.
"(So, how does it feel?)” She asked, lightly tapping her fingers against the bare skin of their chest. She looked up at them with her pretty brown eyes, MYOJIN returning the glance by raising their eyebrows curiously.
"(What do you mean?)” The blonde asked in returning, sitting up a bit while supporting their weight with their elbows against the bed.
"(Finally getting what you wanted. You did it tonight, you won and proved what you wanted to.)” Their fiancee responded, a pretty smile growing on her face as her hand then reached to gently caress their cheek. MYOJIN leaned their head into her touch, their eyes going back toward the ceiling as they seemed to think the whole thing over.
“(I have to admit, it does feel pretty great. It feels great that I still have this title, even if…. Retaining it managed to hurt a lot. It feels even better having you by my side. Things are perfect… Just the way that they should be I think.)” They responded with a growing smile in return, rubbing their thick head of hair. Things did feel perfect. Things felt right- like everything that they had been fighting for, everything that they had been working their hardest for in the past few recent months had finally paid off… All their life, they had become pretty accustomed to expecting the worse. That was how they were taught to see things.
"(I have to admit, it's refreshing seeing you with some happiness on your face instead of being all brooding, staying up late night in the gym. By the way? You should stop doing that, it gets really annoying when I'm trying to sleep.)” Himari spoke, poking their chin lightly. MYOJIN rolled their eyes but nodded.
“(All jokes aside, I'm truly happy to see you be happy… You know, it's been nearly a full year since we've met. And it feels like you're different than then, you were so troubled during those times- and now… It's hard to explain. I think you've grown a lot as a person, and while you act like a jerk a lot of the time on television, I know you.. And you've become better.)”
MYOJIN playfully frowned at being referred to as a jerk, but continued to listen."(It's because of you and everyone else that's supported me this far. Himari, you've made me a far better person than I ever was- you're my strength. My everything, and I wouldn't have gotten this far without you.)” Their facial features softened as they leaned forward to place a light kiss on Himari's lips with a little sigh, going back to lean their head on the pillow once more. She sat up, intimately running a hand in their hair.
“(Where would you be without me, hm?)” She asked.
"(I have no clue.)” MYOJIN responded with a laugh. She snorted before walking toward the bathroom, closing the door behind her as she did so. MYOJIN yawned softly as they took one more glance at their championship, before finding themself growing sleepy- their eyes feeling heavier as they slowly began to close their eyes… Until the sound of their phone ringing woke them back up, startling them as they sat up to turn toward to see their phone.
It was Caden. Caden Yung. The Assistant (to the) General Manager who just got his job saved by them. MYOJIN exhaled sharply, debating whether to simply let it ring or going to pick it up. Against their better judgement, the blonde looked at the phone and answered it- placing it against their ear with a tired grunt. “Caden, it's almost midnight. What the hell could you possibly want right now? If it's not a thank you for saving your ass, I'm going to hang up.”
“Woah, woah, woah! First off, you don't have to be such a rude diva all the time. As matter of fact, I was calling to say thank you- but now I'm not even sure if I want to. Hmph!” The energetic voice of Caden rang out from through the speaker. From the sound of it, it seemed like he had been celebrating the events of Clash of the Cup by downing some White Claws- given his speech was slightly slurred. MYOJIN pinched the bridge of their nose.
“Caden,” The exasperation was clear in their voice. “I'm going to ask one more time: why are you calling me close to midnight?”
The blonde could practically hear the pout on the Assistant (to the) General Manager's voice from the other side. “Okay, sheesh. You can be such a buzzkill sometimes. I called to let you know about some pretty great news! It's actually two things for you.”
“And that is?”
“I got you booked for the upcoming Mall of America match! It's going to be fun, and I heard that there are going to be some worthwhile rewards if you succeed in that match. So, what do you say, are you in for it?” Caden asked.
MYOJIN pondered on the thought before reluctantly taking a deep breath, “Sure, fine. Sounds like it'll be interesting I think. So, what's the other good news?”
“I'm OFFICIALLY your new manager!”
“....You're my WHAT?!
It's growing close to being that time of the year again, isn't it? The festive holidays! Eating massive amounts of unhealthy food and being happy, and the most annoying, repetitive Christmas music hits the radio stations all around the world. It's a very exciting time, isn't it? Or at least, it's supposed to be. Though to be honest? I've never really been a fan of… Thanksgiving. I mean, I'm not exactly someone who finds celebrating diseased Europeans colonizing a land that never belonged to them in the first place- and I'm not that much into the food… And I do realize that I probably sound a lot like the biggest Grinch alive right now, but believe it or not- grumpy ol' MYOJIN does have a lot of things to be thankful for!
Like successfully defending my X-Factor Championship and getting rid of the two constant thorns in my side. Like being engaged to the most beautiful woman I have ever met in my life- oh, and what else? Oh, right. Being THAT bitch.
The Heart and Soul of Project: Honor. The star of the whole fucking show. The person with the most wins in the entire company, someone who's been on almost every Proving Ground since the very first one. The only person to compete in the only two Iron Man matches this company has ever had AND the only one to have won both. Also now, just recently the only person to have won two ladder matches… at least on Proving Ground. Sorry, I don't really know what goes on over there at Fallout.
Speaking of Fallout! I do recognize the talent that comes from there- and some heavy hitters are coming to this… Black Friday match. Ah, yeah, a match based on a bunch of people treating each other like utter shit over materialistic things because capitalism calls for it.
Sorry, sorry, I know I'm being such a buzzkill- but when you work as hard as me? I think you've earned the right to say how you feel with your chest.
Which is what some of you haven't accomplished. A lot of you faces from Fallout think that you can walk into Proving Ground and suddenly act like top dog. Angelo Caito looks like a crackhead and yells so loudly because he loves to hear the sound of his own voice even though he recently got his ass humbled and thrown off a boat. Both Casanova English and Slade Castle really seem like they've been blackpilled and have spent way too much time on Reddit for their own good. The Legacy Champion himself, Syndicate- Hey, didn't I make this wannabe poser tap out in XHF to retain the Junior Heavyweight title during my reign last year? And Jason Long, a close friend of mine, but I seriously owe him a receipt and I've been waiting MONTHS to give it to gim.
When I look at Fallout, I do see a lot of talent- just not in this match. I see a bunch of these edgy True Society members who seem like they never left their Tumblr phase trying to be intimidating- and we already have someone who fits that role, it's the ever so spooky Ozymandias- the Grand Champion.
But I'm not here to throw shade- I'm here to be festive. So let's have a good time everyone.
I know I will when I get my present.
