The scene opens in a dark gloomy room with a single source of light emanating from a considerable distance. It’s almost as if it’s situated in a giant empty warehouse with a measly lightbulb as the only source of light. From the little surface that is exposed to the light, we see a wooden chair with a person tied up to it with a thick rope. As we get closer to the subject, we realize that it is of a familiar face. Christopher Sabertooth-- The host of Havoc, who was last seen getting banished deep into the subconscious mind by the Nightmare King. Sabertooth slowly opens his eyes, squinting ahead in the distance. His movements are slow and weak as he tries to shake the ropes loose to no avail. Sabertooth tries to speak but words don’t come out. It’s almost as if he had forgotten how to talk in the first place. In a desperate need of water to quench his thirst, Sabertooth tries to signal for it but there’s nobody to watch him do so. After moments of struggle, he finally gives in-- shifting his weight and collapsing onto the floor to a loud thud.
It hurt him, but the agony was enough to get a squeal out of him. A squeal that got “someone’s” attention.
“So, you have finally woken up.”
Said a deep demonic voice echoing throughout the empty space as Sabertooth gets startled by the volume of it.
“Wha-- what… am I do-doing here?”
He questioned as words barely rolled off his tongue. He tries to take deep breaths in to get ample oxygen flowing through his body. It almost felt like it had been ages since Sabertooth had even felt a gentle breeze flow by his skin.
“Ah yes. You had been thrown into the void the last time we interacted, isn’t it? Must be feeling worse for wear because of it. I don’t blame you. Take your time, cause your day is only getting started. This is probably the most comfortable you’ll feel for the rest of the evening before I send you back into the void. I have been feeling a lot better with you locked away. I have been able to channel my killer instincts without having to worry about human emotion. But there’s an important night heading my way-- A night that will determine my position in the wrestling world as a world-beater. A night where I will prove that I can walk into ANY company and win championship gold because I am THAT good. It should have been undisputed already but it seems like the people one last proof of dominance. But for you? I have something special for you today. I have brought you out of the void to see what you COULDN’T become. Constantly I have to deal with your complaints and desperate cries for pity talking about your dark past. You’re not the only one with a problem, Christopher. And guess what? Most of those people didn’t have to beg a demon to save them. But I can’t be too mad at it, for your body gave me an opportunity to walk down the halls of this world again. Gone were the days where I just mindlessly wandered around the world as a cursed soul meant to be stuck here for the rest of eternity. So-- I am going to honor you by winning the Noble Championship. Before that, I need you to realize that you’re not as bad off as you think you are.”
A finger snap is heard in the background as suddenly an image appears in front of Chris. His pupils are dilated because of the sudden source of light coming from this bright image. The image of Sabertooth posing with his father.
“You constantly mention how you went against your father’s will to become a pro-wrestler. And to this day, you don’t have his support and love. Boohoo-- At least you know where your father is! At least he is alive and well while there are people in the world who have NEVER seen their father. NEVER had an opportunity to share a photograph such as this. Was he wrong to doubt your career choices? Was he? You were one of the lucky few who made it-- What about the people that put their fucking bodies on the line for twenty people to watch at a high school gymnasium. Would you have been happy in that position, even if you were doing what you love? You desperately want your life back BECAUSE you had it so good. A woman who loves you. People that care about you. While there are COUNTLESS people in this world, starving in the gutters of the street hoping for a better life. Hoping that their life matters one day. If they were to be gone tomorrow, nobody would blink an eye. People will remember you. YOU have it good, Chris.”
He snaps his finger yet again as now a video is broadcasted in front of Sabertooth. A CCTV footage of the fight he had with Devin, a local wrestler that ended up dying on the night of this footage. A death that would be linked to Sabertooth and end up getting him wrongfully locked in prison for a murder he did not commit. We see a photo of Sabertooth behind bars, looking miserable.
“Life must suck for you to end up there, isn’t it? After all, being in a max security prison while being innocent does sting. But guess what? You’re not the ONLY one in that prison to have been wrongfully convicted. Some of them end up on death row and losing their lives. The rest ROT in prison for the rest of their lives while you’re lucky to have gotten out and gone on to live a normal life. But you have it bad, don’t you? Uh ah-- Don’t even think about bringing up O’Shea. O’Shea lost his life trying to protect you, right? Why should anybody feel bad for you? It’s his family that suffered. It’s his daughter, who lost her father. And let’s not forget, O’Shea died in the line of duty. Something he was well aware of getting into the field. If he didn’t die that day, there was a bullet with his name on it that would have gotten him at some point. That’s the sad reality of this world. You do NOT get my sympathy. You got out of prison while his family had to continue on without their husband-- father. And you went on to live quite a luxurious life for yourself. Wrestling pays well when you’re at the top, isn’t it? But hey-- Those hundred-dollar bills weren’t enough to wipe your tears away. Do I remind you of what happened in prison? You were getting your ass kicked until one day that you snapped! You beat down that prison yard bully and even got stabbed in the process. People did respect you inside the prison going forward and even called you by a name-- Do you remember what it was? HAVOC! That’s right. YOU made it out of that place because of me. I may have surfaced into your life a lot later from that incident but the prison yard was the best place for host shopping. Vulnerable people at their lowest are susceptible to let me in and I FOUND you. I helped you to get out of there with your limbs intact. You need to THANK me and not chastise me for what I did to you.“
He snaps his finger yet again to show Hana Nakajima using Havoc’s power at OWA’s Boiling Point to win Athena’s cup this past month. Sabertooth has a look of horror as he sees Havoc take control over the love of his life. He looked on helplessly.
“You tried to stop me from getting to her. You tried to hold me back but LOOK what I did for her. From being a meddling wrestler lost in the shuffle, right to the MAIN EVENT! A bonafide future world champion. I did that for Hana out of courtesy. With you out of the way, it was easy to get to her. Do not worry-- I will make sure that she reaches heights of success like no other. You can thank me for that as well. These are the traumatic incidents that shaped your life, isn’t it? These are the incidents that brought ME into your life. And yet ALL OF THEM pale in comparison to the tragedies I had to deal with. But you don’t know that!”
A hand grabbed the chair and rotated to a different angle as a spotlight appeared in the distance. Underneath that light stood a life-like statue of Maverick. Or Jason Long, as he is known today. It’s like time had been stopped in its place as Maverick is seen reaching out to grab the chair out of Havoc’s hands at Final Destination.
“I trusted THAT man. I treated him like my brother in arms. I taught him EVERYTHING I know and that is what I got in return. Betrayal. There is NOTHING in this world worse than betrayal. And this wasn’t the first time I was betrayed. I was banished from the realms of the Gods for having a different opinion. I was CURSED to roam the world endlessly for not agreeing to the cruelty that was being carried out by the Gods themselves. And after roaming this pathetic planet for eons, I got betrayed YET AGAIN! And this time from somebody who I cared deeply about. I would have DIED for Jason. I really would! I saw potential like no other inside of him and I was right. Just look at what he has achieved now. If he plays it off like he didn’t learn anything out of our relationship, then he’s a LIAR. This betrayal broke me, Chris. I couldn’t wrap my mind around it. I couldn’t move on. Not only had I lost my title-- But I had lost grip over the Ashes. I had lost my brother in arms. I tried to justify it. I tried to forgive him and be the bigger man but it wasn’t to be! I couldn’t do it! So, I made a plan. Having conquered every other promotion I was in-- There was only one place left to conquer. A place where he cannot be sheltered any longer. OWA has kept me away from Jason and they’re clever to do that. But Project Honor was going to be my opportunity for retribution.”
Another snap follows as we see Havoc’s arm being raised in victory at Guts, Gold, and Glory. The stage was set. Havoc had a chance at the belt that Jason possessed. All that was left was the eventual showdown. Until-- Imagery of Jason being stabbed at Fallout X plays in front of Sabertooth’s eyes.
“He-- He got killed?”
Asked Sabertooth as the voice of Havoc let out a grunt.
“That would have been simpler, wouldn't it? Then I would have known who to channel my hatred against. Then I would have known to BEHEAD Arik and put his skull on a pike. But it wasn’t that simple. Nothing really is in our lives, is it? Jason was alive. While I was thankful to hear that-- I was shaken to my core when I heard that he will be forced to vacate the Noble Championship. Why? Isn’t Jason man enough to defend two belts? Or was it DeMarco’s idea of protecting his so-called King from me? Maybe I would be able to convince myself that DeMarco didn’t think it was fit for one man to hold two championships and not be able to defend them both. So, to make the playing ground fair for everybody-- Noble Championship will be up for grabs with a new champion guaranteed. So-- You would think that Jason would have a tough battle ahead of him to defend the Prime Championship at Night of Honor. But that’s not the case! No! DeMarco, having stripped him of his second title has NOW given his golden boy a chance to win the Legacy Championship from that GOTH bitch. WHAT HAPPENED TO HOLD TWO BELTS THEN? WHY ISN’T HE STRIPPED OF THE PRIME CHAMPIONSHIP?! And the worst of all, after what Arik did to him-- Jason, lets his bimbo girlfriend fight his battles while he pursues a piece of gold? THAT IS THE ANTITHESIS OF WHAT I TAUGHT HIM! Is this the man, or lack thereof, he is now? They ROBBED me, Chris! They ROBBED me out of an opportunity at retribution just so they can print more money. Now, I have to fucking wait to get my hands on Jason Long because he’s TOO good to fight for his fucking pride. That sellout prick! A BETRAYAL AND A ROBBERY! HOW COULD HE GET AWAY WITH IT?! HOW COULD HE!?”
The demonic screams of the Nightmare King echo throughout the background as Sabertooth has shivers running down his spine.
“I-- I am sorry. I don’t know the place as well, but they must have a reason behind their decisions.”
Sabertooth responded, not to the liking of Havoc.
“What decisions? How difficult is it for them to just open their fucking ears and listen to me! I have been BEGGING, going out of my character to get this match and they go against it. What was the point of me winning at Guts, Gold, and Glory when I had to win my chance at the Noble belt YET AGAIN at Fallout XI while Mr. Pyro gets to walk into Night of Honor with a title shot over a STUPID FUCKING DEAD BY DAYLIGHT STIPULATION! They had a KILLER like myself trying to escape away from the man that I have BEEN wanting to kill. How does that even make sense? If they put me in Pyro’s position-- Yelich, Artemis, Pandalike, and that fucking moron Mason Destruction wouldn’t have made it out alive. Why did HE get to be a fucking killer while I had to be a miserable little cunt trying to escape away like a bitch! So, I chose not to. I wanted to get my hands on Jason that day but they wouldn’t let me! I guess people are forgetting that I had to beat the likes of Syndicate AND Pyro at GGG to get my title shot. Why did I have to defend my chances of making it to the show while Pyro reaped all the benefits?! He LOST at GGG so it is righteous of me to be asked to be the Killer at Fallout X and not HIM! I AM THE NIGHTMARE KING AND I WAS ASKED TO RUN AWAY FROM A SCRAWNY LITTLE IRISH KID! So, I don’t want to hear anybody talking about how Pyro deserves to be in this position. I have no problems EARNING my way to a title but that sentiment should carry forward to EVERYBODY and not just me! At this point, it’s obvious that DeMarco has it against me. But I continue to defy his expectation and make it to a title shot-- where his ONLY hope of success is placed into the hands of Pyro. What a fucking shame! Because I am going to shove his expectations up Pyro’s ass and make him into my personal little puppet.”
The sadistic and twisted tone of Havoc is enough to make a grown man weep but he had every intention to uphold his end of the promise.
“I-I see. I agree… This hasn’t been fair to you. That is our life, I suppose. Nothing has ever been fair to us and that trend carries forward to every company we step our foot into. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am on your side. I don’t like when a company plays favorites and it’s clear that you’re not one of them. But now you have a chance of forcing that narrative into a reality when you walk out of Night of Honor with the Noble Championship. What I don’t get is what you want from me? I didn’t expect to be brought out of the void for a chat. There must be a reason behind this, right?”
Sabertooth inquired, being sympathetic towards Havoc to the surprise of the Nightmare King. Out of the shadows, Havoc stepped in front of Sabertooth with his gleamy red eyes.
“You’ve got me there. I do have to ask you something. While your emotions are no longer holding me back, your body is acting like a bottleneck. You may have heard but I recently met up with Arata Asakura. You know the situation going on with him, as Raijin has taken over his body and is making Arata into a fine specimen. Raijin and Arata are in cahoots for the entire duration. They have a symbiotic relationship as Arata uses his newly found Godly powers while Raijin gets one step closer to being reincarnated into the present world. Because of it, Arata has managed to exponentially grow in power and rival me in strength in such a short duration of time. I thought that locking you away will rid me of all the pathetic humanity that you possess. But having met Arata, I have realized that it isn’t the case. You mentioned being on my side for once-- I know it’s a big ask from you, but I need you to open your eyes and see me for who I am. Tonight, you accept me. Tonight, we become one Christopher. In exchange, I will let your conscience back to the forefront when we’re not in the ring. You will be able to spend your time with Hana while I use your body to bring some change to this world. We tried this with you actively trying to stop me and free yourself. We tried this with me locking you out of your own body. And neither of those has been able to bring out my full potential. But Arata and Raijin have shown me the way. I brought you here-- for acceptance.”
Havoc stared into the eyes of Sabertooth who wasn’t sure how he should take this information. To be one with Havoc and forgive him for all the pain that he brought him wouldn’t be easy for Chris. But an opportunity to be with Hana and live a normal life was enticing. It sure was better than being locked away in an endless void with no way out.
“It’s so easy for you to change your mind and do with my body as you please. You force my cooperation and then lock me out. And now, you want us to be working together? You want us to be in a coalition. It’s always catered to your whims and fancy, isn’t it? You want my help to grow stronger. Why should I care?! When have you cared about me!”
Sabertooth retaliated as he did before. But this time garnering no reaction out of the Nightmare King. He patiently listened to what Chris had to say before letting out a smile.
“You’re not wrong. I have been difficult with you. I have been a reason for your pain and suffering. I have tortured your mind and soul into submission before. But when I took over your body-- I took over your memory as well. Your painful past hurts me as much as it hurts you! And I am tired, Chris. I am tired of all the injustice in this world and I want to accelerate this process of change. I have been blabbering about this supposed change to come but it’s taking FAR too long. My patience has run thin and I know the only way for me to grow stronger is with you by my side. So, you’re right. I DO need you. But let’s not forget about all the things that I did bring you. Your world championships-- I won them and you get to take the credit. You’re a STAR in the wrestling world and your stock is higher than ever because of what I accomplished with your body. I fulfilled your dream, Chris. The dream that you conjured with your best friend O’Shea when you were a little kid. I helped to make that a reality. You cannot deny that. And now, I am giving you an opportunity to be a part of this journey. To be on the right side of history.”
Havoc showed sincerity for possibly the first time in his life.
“And what is to say that you wouldn’t take all of that back when things don’t go your way? What is to say that I won’t be locked into the void again?”
Chris questioned, weighing out his options.
“Then nothing changes for you, isn’t it? You’d be back to where you are right now. I am not saying I would do that but even if I did, it can’t get worse than what it already is. But what I can guarantee is that you joining my side will make your life better. Join me, Chris. We’ll be a force of nature together. We’ll be unstoppable!”
Havoc goaded Chris to make a favorable decision as Sabertooth pondered about everything that was being presented to him.
“If I say yes-- What happens?”
“We’ll share a single mind at once, every instant. Our voice will become one. We’ll be equal partners in this relationship going forward. You’ll be able to voice your opinions while I am in charge. Opinions that will be heard! You let me in before Chris. This time it is different. This time, we’re equal. This time… WE are Havoc.”
Moments of silence pass as Sabertooth gets close to making a decision.
“... Fine. I agree to your terms.”
A devious smirk appears on Havoc’s face as he gets closer to Sabertooth.
“Welcome to our future, Chris.”
Havoc places his hand over Sabertooth as the scene distorts. Sabertooth’s body gets sucked into Havoc as only a single figure remains standing. That man was Christopher Sabertooth. That man was Havoc. They were one. Havoc’s eyes glow a crimson red as he maniacally laughs to his heart’s content. The scenery changes around him as now Havoc finds himself standing in front of an iron throne. There are skulls fashioned around as feng shui and play into the gloomy setup with the Nightmare King at its helm. A camera is now rolling to record his feelings heading into NOH.
“Oh, this feels WONDERFUL! So, this is the power that Raijin and Arata were speaking of. I should have let this happen sooner! This body feels like my own! Like it was my own flesh and blood. Oh boy! PYRO IS FUCKED! He is so fucked! And to think that I even gave him an opportunity to join the Ashes of the Wake. I gave him an opportunity to be part of something larger than his insignificant self. But he had to be all righteous with me! While it’s clear that Project Honor does not want to see me succeed. But I will leave them with no choice! Shinigami no Tensei is in full effect. Arata Asakura and I put our differences aside to realize that our goals are one and the same. We HATE how the world has treated us as outsiders and labeled us as terrorists for looking out for our people! It’s funny how Pyro chose to put his differences with Julius aside after having his ass beat and over and over again. I am sure he would LOVE to blame me for the handicap match loss all those weeks ago. But let’s not forget why I was brought down to that position in the first place. Pyro had REFUSED to join my side and went on to even SABOTAGE me from winning that match for the two of us. His ego could not handle being outdone to such an extent! But what did I do? I shut him the fuck up at Guts, Glory, Gold, and EARNED my way into a title match at Night of Honor. Something Pyro DID NOT do. I HAVE beaten him already while he can’t say that same thing. I am sure people will bring the nature of that victory under scrutiny-- But that is thrown out of the fucking picture when you realize what Pyro had to do to get into this match. Dead By Daylight was absurd and it’s bullshit that Pyro is being rewarded for ‘killing’ bums like Mason Destruction. That motherfucker got pinned THRICE at Fallout XI and lost his job and yet he somehow finds himself in a marquee matchup on the show. What a load of bullshit! The world can say that Pyro is ready to ascend to the next level but that was before the Project Honor world MET ME!”
Havoc continues to gloat about his dominance since his arrival at Project Honor. Despite a few hiccups, his position as a challenger cannot be denied.
“Collision Course will serve as a spoiler for what is to come for Pyro because he’ll be ending that night with his back against the canvas while my hand is being raised as champion. Shinigami no Tensei will run through the opposition and ascend to the levels of Godhood through sheer brutality! We’re BOUND to be Tag Team Champions and you can be sure that I will be carrying that belt into Night of Honor. When I walk down the ramp and stare Pyro in his eyes, the title on my waist will be a constant reminder of his failures! He failed to beat me at GGG. He and Julius will fail yet again at Collision Course if they even make it to the finals. Let's be honest, Pyro isn’t really known for his results, is he? In fact, I will be handing him his tenth defeat at Night of Honor! It doesn’t matter how many bums he has beaten before-- I have added to his loss column before and I will do it again AND AGAIN! Maybe this time I will get it across his meathead to realize that he’s not as cunning as he thinks he is. Maybe then he’ll realize that he’s better of being my fucking puppet-- my servant perhaps, than being whatever the fuck he is right now. Look what it did for Jason Long. He is main eventing Night of Honor with a chance of making history! The first-ever Grand Slam in Project Honor history. I don’t know how that works considering he hasn’t been tag team champions but hey-- we’ll let them shape the narrative in favor of their golden boy. Do me proud, Jason! Show that goth bitch that you’re tougher than you’ve been made to look these past couple of weeks. Do you see how Jason is a bonafide star in Project Honor, Pyro? That’s what I could have done for you! I was nice and understanding before but that moment has passed. You don’t have a choice in how your future is entailed. Everything depends on how I feel at Night of Honor. Maybe I am feeling a little merciful and I’ll let you be my lapdog for the next couple of months. Or I’m in the mood to kill and I am not talking about the stupid shit you pulled off at Fallout X. I am talking about you being six feet -- Nah, you don’t even deserve to be buried properly. A shallow grave will serve that purpose for a piss stain of a human being that you are.”
Havoc is playing into his anger of not being able to face Jason at Night of Honor and channeling it against Pyro.
“Frankly, it seems like you’re in the right place at the wrong time. This COULD have been your moment until my name was attached to this match. I wanted Jason Long, after having waited for FAR too long and I haven’t been afforded that opportunity. I am frustrated, to say the very least. And I need to take it out on somebody. You are the perfect example of that, Pyro. When somebody looks at you, they think of you as a monster. A pyromaniac hellbent on leaving chaos in his wake. If I were Yelich or somebody bland like him, I would be shaking in my boots. But Pyro doesn’t scare me. Not even a bit. His brand of chaos is built has no purpose attached to it. He has a one-track mind transfixed on destruction but he himself has no answers for why he wants to burn the world down. A man without a purpose is only as dangerous as his actions. While a normal human being should be afraid of fire, I have no reason to fear the flames of the fallen. Even if Pyro was to set me alight and leave nothing but my ashes in its wake, I would rise out of it like a Phoenix reborn at a moment’s notice. Pyro can’t hurt me! When I get hit, I don’t fall down and squirm away for safety-- I stand back up and look into the eyes of the perpetrator before reading them their final rites of passage. Pyro should have been SO MUCH more by now but his lack of direction and stupidity holds him back. And now, his partnership with Julius will serve him no benefit. He looks like a pussy bitch for trying to team with the guy he couldn’t beat. Hey-- Maybe he’d join me after I curb stomp his head into the canvas until it’s mush. It seems like Pyro might be submissive and breedable. It’s time I make him my bitch and humble him in defeat. Do NOT talk big when you can’t back it up! After being handed an opportunity, you cannot play it off like the two of us have EQUAL claims to be called a champion. After Jason chose the bitchmade route of vacating the Noble Championship, I should have been HANDED the belt as the ONLY deserving number one contender. I stuffed Pyro’s ass into a fucking cell at GGG and I am going to spike him on his cranium so hard that he wishes he was still locked in that barbed wire cage for safety. Pyro-- You’re not that guy, pal. You’re not that guy! These people might be fooled by your exterior but I see you for who you truly are. A brainless freak who has been dropped on his head far too many times than one should be. It’s to the point that he’s gotten delusional! I am surprised that he even convinced himself that he could beat me knowing how his confidence is always shaken by the slightest of comments. Pyro is literally free-- Like, I genuinely feel bad to be bullying him. Naaah! I take that back. I don’t want to show him empathy or pity his existence. That’ll be too courteous for somebody of his nature. All he needs is an ass whooping that he won’t forget.”
Havoc pulls himself closer to the iron throne before taking a seat.
“The throne has been set. The crown is ready. The nobility fit of being a King is soon to follow. Project Honor-- I have waited FAR too long to let this opportunity go to the wayside. It’s time for my ascension to the top. Pyro will fail as he has before-- And when his confidence takes a hit, I will swoop right in and whisper everything that he wants to hear to him and sway him into my favor. He’s going to be easy pickings after Night of Honor. I’ll put him to use, for a change. After all, a King needs a footrest. I will walk out of Night of Honor with the Tag Team AND the Noble title. And when I do, I will use my position of power to bring the truth out to the world. Project Honor is full of corruption that will be exposed soon enough. DeMarco and the rest of the corporate suits that think they own me-- They’re in for a rude awakening. Their strongest and most feared fighter in Pyro is about to be made to look like an amateur. Pyro is beneath me. He will be a simple stepping stone for bigger things to come. Night of Honor might be the most important night in Project Honor history for more than one reason. It will be marked in history as the day Havoc took over. Don’t be fooled by the look on my face. I am fucking livid. I am annoyed beyond comprehension that Jason’s death isn’t scheduled by my hands as expected. So, I will be needing a punching bag. Pyro almost serves the same purpose, apart from the fact that a punching bag hits harder. But I can’t stop smiling because I know what is on the horizon. My ascension. My coronation. My Kingdom. The Nightmare Era is upon Project Honor. Be there to witness it at Night of Honor. And for Pyro? When he’s down on his back, rethinking his life decisions -- I’d give him a hand. A FINAL chance of joining my side. All his sins will be absolved. All he has to do is take my hand… And I promise him… YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE!”
With that final phrase uttered, Havoc’s devious smile turns into that of conviction. He has a lot to prove to the world and Night of Honor provides him with an opportunity to do just that. Project Honor will follow suit with the numerous companies that were conquered by the Nightmare King. Chapter One of his journey comes to an end on this day. It’s time to etch his name into the history books. Havoc is ready to be crowned as the Noble Champion as we fade to black.
