Human beings in a mob.
What's a mob to a king?
What's a king to a God?
What's a God to a non-believer who don't believe in anything?
Will he make it out alive?
Alright, alright.
No church in the wild.
June 17th, 2021... the first time Redd had changed his route from Kasey to Savannah. The first time that Savannah’s life had been flipped around so suddenly. The first time she had been thrust head first into such a dangerous situation… and yet, she did her best to hide the fear she truly felt. Deep down, she felt that if she had joined Redd, that it would keep everyone else safe. Little had she known, that was not the truth. His sights had turned from one person who needed his “help”, to someone who was far easier to manipulate and mold into his image. Savannah was stronger than she looked, that much was true. In fact, she had more than proven she could handle herself during her time here with Project: Honor.
The night had been far too busy and chaotic for her liking. She hadn’t come with Jason and Nathan to the show, but she was still there nonetheless. Jason and Nathan had spent a lot of time searching for her… and for Redd. Throughout the night, that’s how it had gone. Except what no one had taken into account was that Nathan had been left alone too long. It gave a couple of Redd’s goons time to sneak in and attack Nathan, leaving him beaten at the end of it all. Savannah had no idea, really.
Maybe that was the problem in hindsight, she had no idea what kind of darkness Redd was capable of. She had no idea what she was getting herself into by allowing herself to be connected with him in any way. But, how could she deny herself the mere thought of going further and welcoming the chances of promises of gold in her future? It was better to have someone there to give you the proper guidance to do so.
The triple threat hadn’t gone how she had expected that night, but it had gone as best as it could. There was obvious tension between herself and Jason, not to mention the ongoing issues with Kayla too. Though, Savannah had come out the winner at the end of it all. Savannah had tried to prevent Jason and Redd from brawling that night, only for Jason to catch a Dreamkiller from Kayla during the dispute. When Kayla’s attention focuses on Savannah and she seems ready to attack… The arena went dark, before the ring was surrounded and filled with green purge masks… and a red mask that stood in front of Savannah. It was enough so that Kayla had backed down and away from the situation.
Savannah was left alone in the ring moments later, only after Redd and his crew bow in her direction. Before they seemingly disappear into thin air. It’s all so much to handle, but it’s hard to deny that this much attention does wonders for her confidence. The start of a mere partnership that had at first seemed one sided, turned into something far more. If only someone could have thought that things could have gotten far worse from there on out. Yet, no one knew exactly what Redd was capable of… and that was the problem.
Over the next several weeks, it’s all a spiral of chaos and darkness. Redd and his crew helped aid Savannah in getting one up over Pixie. Christian’s silly little games played throughout the night, only for Savannah to walk away with the Noble Championship at the end of the night. However, that did not come without the price of being tossed into Kayla and Jason’s seemingly never ending war.
Guts, Gold, and Glory rolled around shortly after the events of that episode of Fallout. Arik had so many leads on Redd that it made Savannah’s head spin. Though, she believed that Jason and Redd would be getting on the same page soon. It hadn’t gone how Savannah would have planned. In fact, she had lost the Noble Championship that night. But, part of her was still happy because Jason was the one to come out of it with not one shiny… But, two shinies.
So much had happened in so little time, it was hard to pinpoint when it had all started and when it should have ended. The lines blurred between personal and business and it was all so much to handle. She knew she never should have gotten involved with Redd when the people she loved were getting hurt at his hands. Especially after the events of Dead By Daylight, where Redd had attempted to kill Jason. In fact, he had succeeded for a brief amount of time.
Savannah had believed Jason to be dead that night when they had reached the emergency room at the hospital. She had been covered in Jason’s blood, had sobbed and cried to her heart’s content when they had declared him dead for a total of thirty six minutes. So many thoughts had run through her head then and there. But, the most prominent thought? Putting an end to Redd once and for all. No matter what, after everything he had done to not only her, but to others, she swore that she would be the one to put an end to all of this.
At the following show, everyone was on edge. Frustration, guilt, anxiety. So many emotions ran through Savannah as she went through everything. She had known the plan ahead of time, had perfected playing the soft and naive girl once again. But, it came as a surprise to Redd when the coffin opened and Jason was not inside. In fact, Jason had managed to snatch that stupid mask right from Redd’s face before he could scurry off to lick his own wounds. The night ticked by too slow for her liking. Yet, when it came time for Redd to be revealed? It was not who any of them had expected.
When it had been Arik revealing himself to have been the one behind Redd the entire time, everyone seemed shocked. How could she have overlooked things so badly? How could she have allowed her own issues to blind her to the fact that Redd had been there this whole time? Oh, how wrong she had been for so long. But, she had vowed that night that while Arik had issued the challenge at Night of Honor? She would be the real victor when his blood was on her hands. That much she swore to and that much she would accomplish if nothing else.
It’s too late into the night to know what time it is, in fact, how could she know what time it is? Plagued by another night of nightmares, this time brought into a frenzy of a panic attack as she sat up in the bed abruptly with a screech. It was hard to breathe, hard to focus, hard to do anything other than scream at the top of her lungs. Jason stirred beside her in a panic as the bedside lamp flickered to life. Duvet was tossed carefully aside as Jason set into action to help Savannah through her current panic attack. This was not an odd occurrence, in fact, the nightmares and panic attacks had been common even before Jason had nearly died. They had only gotten worse after that night.
“Come on, darling. Breathe with me, okay?” His words are gentle as Savannah does her best to focus on him. His hands gently cupping her cheeks to help her properly focus on his face. Hands only dropping after a few moments when he’s sure she’s focused on him. With each deep breath, she feels calmer and calmer. Even as slick and cold sweat beads across her skin, throat sore from panicked screaming. Tears stain her cheeks and hands shake slightly as he offers her a water bottle, kept safely beside the bed. A couple of small sips taken from the bottle with shaky hands as she settles the bottle down into her lap. Eyes close momentarily as she slowly manages to come down from the panic attack. Jason carefully watches from the opposite side of her, brushing curls from her face gently. She nuzzles into his hand, welcoming the familiar feeling.
A gentle sigh falls from plush lips as she presses a kiss to his palm. “Sorry for waking you.” Her voice is gentle, slightly rough from all of the screaming. But, Jason is hardly phased as he shrugs slightly. “It’s fine. I’m used to it. Not that it would be a problem even if I weren’t used to it, you’re my first priority. Always.” He leans in, stealing a lingering kiss as Savannah eases herself back against the pillows behind her. Jason follows suit on the opposite side of her as one arm wraps around her waist lazily. “Same nightmare again?” His voice is a low murmur, chin resting atop her head as she curls inwardly into him. She shakes her head, brows furrowing slightly as she inhales a gentle breath. It takes her a few moments to properly put the nightmare into words.
“No, not this time. This one was a little different. A lot scarier, a lot more real. A lot more dangerous.” She swallows hard, feeling suddenly parched. Picking up her water bottle, she takes a long sip before continuing. “This one, this one was a lot. You died. I mean, actually died. Nothing could save you, no matter how much I tried… and, and he was there. He was just standing there with this satisfied little stupid grin on his face.” Hands wring together, clutching at the duvet beneath them. “He seemed so satisfied to finally have succeeded and he thought that I would finally be his. But, I refused. Just like I do every single time.” She pauses, licking over her lips. “I refused and I kicked and I screamed and I fought until…” A pause, a beat, so silent you could hear a pin drop. “Until he stole the very breath from my lungs. His hands wrapped around my neck and he gripped so tight that I couldn’t breathe. Everything started to fade to darkness and then… Then, I woke up.”
It’s evident that this particular nightmare has stirred her beyond the usual. One hand absentmindedly reaches up to touch her neck, where she almost imagines bruises in the form of Arik Holt’s fingers. Jason shuffles, sits up against the pillows as he keeps Savannah tucked beneath his arm. “You won’t die. You can’t. You’re stronger than that. You’ve been through a lot and this is just another obstacle in your way. You have to dig down deep and bring out a side of you that you’ve kept locked down deep because of your own fears.” He pokes her in the chest gently and it causes a very brief laugh to spill from her lips. She understands what he means, that dark and dangerous side that she buried deep within. The side she hated to show unless she absolutely needed to… and this was one of those times.
“But, what if-” She cuts herself off, they’ve had this discussion before. What if she wakes the sleeping beast that seems dormant? What if she can’t come back from that darkness? What if that darkness swallows her up whole? Hands gently cup her face and those eyes that she loved so much practically gaze into her soul. “You won’t. You’ll never go back to that place again, do you hear me? Not as long as I live and breathe. I won’t let you get that far. I promise.” His words are gentle and to the point, even if that fear resides within her very core. But, she ignores it for now as she steals a lingering kiss. Nose nuzzling against his as eyes close gently, gentle breath exhaled as her forehead rests against his with a grin.
“You don’t have to make promises you might not be able to keep. Don’t try to argue with me either. None of us knows how this match is going to go. But, no matter what… I’m going to do whatever it takes in making sure no one else has to suffer because of this man. By any means necessary.” Teeth grit slightly as she nods firmly, fingers gently capturing one of Jason’s hands as fingers interlock with one another. Silence falling over the pair as they await what’s in store for them both.
Fingers lightly trail across the railing she’s leaning against, arms resting against it after a moment as she stares out at the ocean ahead. “Arik Holt is nothing but a liar.” The words are not said without malice. Not a hint of happiness or a smile. “After all of the claims of wanting to help me, wanting to save me, wanting to help me reach my full potential… He made the worst mistake possible. He made an enemy out of me.” There it was, a smile full of malice planted firmly across her lips. “All along, he had some sick and twisted plan trying to be the one who came out on top. Trying to be the one who would end up keeping me forever. But, he doesn’t quite understand the grave decisions he has made leading up to this very moment. The moment where he is left with no pride, no sick claims, nothing.”
Fingers lightly trace against the railing, bare feet walking across the wooden walkway before reaching the sand. Feet continue to travel against the sand until she reaches the shore. Waves crashing against the shore and touching her toes as she inhales a gentle breath. “Before me, there were others. Other people that Redd targeted. Other people that Redd tried to mold and shape into his own image. By becoming one of his victims, I believed that I could prevent him from harming anyone else. I believed that I could stop him from being this horrible person and help him see that he didn’t need to be that person anymore.” She pauses, licking over her lips in trepidation. “But, I soon learned that I was very wrong. But, it wasn’t as simple as just walking away from him. It’s never that easy. Even now, after knowing who he truly is. Nothing is ever that simple.”
She’s dressed in a white sundress, almost angelic-like with the camera a few feet away. The setting sun casting a glow of sorts around her. “It was never my intention to make Arik believe that I was interested in him romantically. He came to that conclusion somehow in his own twisted mind. He believed getting rid of Jason meant that he would have the chance to truly sink his claws into me. But, he could never be that lucky. After his goons attacked Nathan, I should have known it would only get worse from there… and it did.” She swallows hard, gaze narrowing slightly as she tries to put her thoughts into proper order.
“I could have lost the one person that means the world to me. I could have lost someone who has a family, who has people that love him. It would have weighed heavily upon my shoulders to know that I was at fault for that. But, he’s alive and well and he’s not going anywhere.” Her words are firm and to the point as she nods. “Above all else, Arik Holt no longer has some moronic claim on me. Arik Holt no longer pulls the reins when it comes to my life. From here on out, I will be the ruler and controller of my own destiny… and when it comes to Arik Holt’s destiny?” She chuckles low, something dark and deadly as she stares out at the waves ahead. A few dolphins showing their families as they flip through the air and back into the water.
“I control that as well. At Night of Honor, I’m walking into a nightmare. I’m walking into a true battlefield where I haven’t the slightest clue as to what I am walking into. But, I know that at the end of it all? I’m not stopping until Arik Holt is unrecognizable. I’m not stopping until his blood is spilling across the land. I’m not stopping until he’s choking on his own goddamn teeth!” Her voice raises, breaks off in some spots as she clears her throat. She’s getting herself all worked up. But, she settles down after a few moments and a few deep breaths.
“Arik Holt wants to take credit for everything that I’ve done since Redd stepped into my life? Well, he can take credit for the monster he’s created then.” She pauses, grits her teeth. “I’m going to show him a side of me that I have never shown before. A side I keep buried deep down because I’ve always been so afraid of hurting everyone. But, when it comes to Arik Holt? I have no remorse. I no longer feel sorry for him. From here on out, I’m done being held back by some bald freak who obsesses over the women of the Project: Honor roster.” She kicks at some sand with her feet, watches as it flies around slightly.
“Night of Honor will not be where Savannah Sunshine takes her last breath. In fact, I will be the one standing tall over Arik Holt at the end of it all. Blood will be shed, tears will be shed, and sweat will be shed. Above all else, I’m putting an end to this psychopathic nightmare that was created by someone who has not a single sense of remorse.” She stares right at the camera, turns slightly as her gaze narrows. “Arik Holt… You have no idea what you have signed yourself up for. At Night of Honor, you will regret ever having made the decision to make an enemy out of me. You will regret the decision you made upon creating that silly little Redd persona. You will regret ever trying to hurt the people I love. Night of Honor will mark the death of Arik Holt and the persona known as Redd. Not just for me and the people I love, but for everyone he has ever hurt before. I am the ruler of your fate now, Arik Holt. As long as you live and breathe, I will be a goddamn shadow to you. I won’t stop until you’re begging me to let you live. Even then, I won’t stop until I am the one that ends your reign of terror. Mark my goddamn words.” She walks towards the camera, one hand reaching out to cover the lens and block the view. Before the camera falls into the sand and the scene fades to black.
