“Her love is like ice melting the barrier of fire around my heart.” - Pyro

JUNE 19TH, 2021
It was a couple of days after that last Fallout show, Anya Brendon and Pyro were back in Sanford, Florida. They were both at Anya’s place, Pyro had stayed there since they’d got back from Quito, Ecuador. Anya was still sleeping as Pyro was sitting at the bottom of the bed in an armchair. All that Pyro could think about was how lucky he was and how innocent and adorable Anya looked sleeping. There was a genuine smile on Pyro’s face but it didn’t stop him from also thinking about if he should walk away or not before he ended up driving Anya away or her coming to any harm. After all, all his life, Pyro has supposedly been known to hurt those he loves or for them to just abandon him. That just seemed to be the way of life for Pyro and Anya knew that but yet here she was in love with a man that others saw as a murdering freak.
It’s never been proven that Pyro has killed anyone but it still didn’t stop people from assuming he’d done so. That evening back when the fire happened, Pyro’s parents' bodies were never found. Yet, Pyro has had to live all his life being made to feel like he killed them. Maybe they’re dead or maybe they’re not. All Pyro knows is what he was told. How he was the reason the fire started at the house and that he was found watching it burn with the box of matches in his hand. Still admiring Anya as she was sleeping, Pyro started to drift off in thought. Over the years as he grew up, he’d never known about the fact that his parents’ bodies weren’t in the house as the house burned to the ground. Although Pyro’s memory wasn’t too clear about that day, what he does remember the most is being told that his parents were in the house as it burned to the ground. Pyro just assumed that the person telling him was something to do with the Police, yet he still didn’t understand why after handing him a box of matches that he tried to slip away before anyone else got there. Pyro also remembered a Black sedan-type car pulling away as the sirens got closer and closer.
No one would listen to Pyro though, they all just thought he was crazy and lying. All they saw was a building on fire, and him standing there with the box of matches in hand. This isn’t anything he has told anyone, there have been times he has thought about telling Anya but he wasn’t sure if she’d believe him or not. Especially since even though no bodies were found in the fire, the death of his parents was put on him. This is what has made Pyro become the person he is today. For whatever reason, that person gave him the matchbox, was to make Pyro become a monster. Instead of trying to fight it, Pyro embraced it, being made to believe that’s who he had to become. He often thought about how things could’ve been different and actually believed they would be until his now ex-wife walked out on him with their child. The more Pyro thought about that note that was left, the more he began to believe that it wasn’t his ex-wife that wrote it.
Yet who would do that to him?
Who wanted to ruin his life that much?
These were questions that Pyro didn’t have the answers to but would always wonder about. He knows full well that if he was ever to meet that man again he’d recognize him straight away. The smell of cigarettes, booze, and the type of cheap aftershave you’d get nowadays from the merchandise stand of Big Drip Productions. Pyro since the age of eighteen had been looking for this man but was yet to find him. He didn’t know if it was because the man changed his ways or was just hiding from him. Either way, Pyro had made a promise that if he did ever find him, he’d get answers whatever it took to get them. Pyro was a very dangerous man when he needed to be and it was thanks to this man that Pyro was the messed up individual that he is today.
Eventually, Pyro snaps out of his thoughts as he suddenly hears someone calling him and asking him if he was okay. Now back in the room, he looks to see Anya wrapped in the covers kneeling on the bed looking at him. She’d woken up and saw that something was wrong and was quite worried since he wouldn’t say anything.
“Um... Yes… I’m fine.”
Pyro says trying to force a smile to hide the fact he wasn’t fine at all.
“Pyro, look at me. I know you’re not fine. I’ve been calling you for the last three minutes.”
Anya now moves so she is sitting on the end of the bed, Pyro looks at her, the smile totally gone. He knew he wasn’t going to convince her he was fine when he wasn’t.
“I just have a lot of things going through my mind. I couldn’t sleep and I was just admiring how adorable and peaceful you looked.”
She smiles but it still didn’t hide the fact that she was concerned about him.
“What is wrong? You know you can talk to me.”
Once she’d finished talking, she cupped his face with her hand and stroked it with her thumb.
“I just feel like I’m going to screw things up again. It’s like things start to go well, then BOOM, they start going bad again. I just feel like I’m cursed and I just don’t want you to get hurt because of me.”
Pausing for a moment, Pyro places his hand on top of hers giving it a slight squeeze.
“I still can’t get my head around something that happened the day my parents died too and why no one would listen to me.”
Taking his hand from hers, she took her hand back noticing as Pyro’s head drops.
“First thing first mister, you’re not going to screw things up. Don’t let the past mess with your mind. In fact, don’t ever let any of them in Project: Honor do that either. Secondly, you definitely aren’t cursed, yes you’ve had more bad luck than most but things will get better. Thirdly, I’m not going to get hurt and you won’t hurt me, you and I aren’t like that, I know the real you Pyro.”
Looking up, Pyro smiles at her, she just seemed to have a way with words that had a good effect on him.
“Last but not least, you know I’ll listen to you. You can trust me with anything and I really mean that. I love you Pyro. I love you for who you’re and plenty of people would too if they got to see what I do.”
“Anya, I love you too.”
Pyro takes a deep sigh before continuing on.
“It’s just that… Well… Um… I have memories of something that just doesn’t seem right and back then no one would believe me. Once I stepped out of the house because it was on fire, I stood there feeling helpless because my parents were still in there. I wanted to go get them out but I just froze on the spot. I stood there watching the house burn with them inside it and it made me feel like a monster. I’m not even sure who rang the emergency services but what I’m definitely sure about is the black sedan that pulled up. It pulled out of the garage and stopped on our drive. A man got out of it, at the time I guessed that maybe he was something to do with the Police. It just seems strange that he’d come out from our garage and not only that, when he got to me he handed me a box of matches. He just told me that I should hold onto them so that no one finds out that I was playing with them inside. After that, he told me to stay put and wait for someone to come to talk with me. He then got in the Black sedan and pulled off the drive and drove off as the sirens got closer.”
Pyro pauses, shaking his head at how dumb all this is.
“Once the Emergency Services turned up, the Police walked over to me and saw that I was holding on to the box of matches that the man had given me. They saw me just standing there emotionless as the fire continued to burn as the Fire Service tried to put it out. I tried to tell the Police what had happened but they didn’t believe me. I even said that my mom and dad were in the house. The next thing I know, the Police are taking me away in the car after taking the box of matches from me. It wasn’t until I turned eighteen that I found out they never found any bodies in the house fire, yet they still allowed me to be blamed for their deaths. I just… I just think that maybe, just maybe that I was set up and that my mom and dad were abducted. I went to the Police about it but because of my obsession with fire and what I’d done after that, they didn’t believe me, they just saw me as a crazy idiot. I know, it sounds stupid but it’s the truth Anya, it really is.”
Anya just looks at Pyro who looks back at her and she could instantly tell that he was being genuine with her.
“I believe you, I one hundred percent believe you. I’m sorry that no one has before but I honestly do. It’s horrible that you’ve had to go through that but trust me, I’m going to do whatever it takes to help you. I know it meant to be my job but I love you Sameal, this isn’t just a job to me anymore. The man who I love is hurting and suffering for something that clearly wasn’t his fault. Whatever it takes, you and I are going to get through this okay?”
With a lump in his throat, hearing her say his real name after she said she loved him just made it feel all that more real to him. All Pyro can do to answer her was nod his head as he sits in the chair in just his briefs.
“Now it’s still late, come back to bed. I’m here beside you and that’s never going to change, I promise.”
Getting to his feet, Pyro kissed Anya on the forehead before laying down on the bed. Anya, still with the covers around her, makes her way to lay down beside him after she covers him up too. She lays her head on his chest as he wraps his arm around her as eventually, he manages to drift off to sleep feeling content next to her.

Pyro had left Anya to go shopping, he had his phone on him in case she’d get lost or needed him. He’d decided that he’d go and check that run-down gym out that was just around the corner from their hotel. Once Pyro had stepped in there, it was full of roided up douchebags like Scott Oasis and Lance Williams. They all stopped what they were doing as soon as Pyro walked in, most of them just grunting because they had the IQ of someone like Lil Petey or Victoria McKenzie. The others just shrugged him off as Pyro walked through the gym with a sadistic smirk on his face. He was just waiting for one of them to say something or step up to him, he didn’t care how strong or big they looked, he’d still have fun making them bleed and piss their pants like Arik Holt every time he saw Pyro.
Walking up to a room that said “RESERVED FOR PYRO” he walked in to see a camera had been set up for him on a tripod. Once in the room, Pyro locked the door behind him, he didn’t want to be disturbed. All that was in the room was a punching bag hanging from the ceiling that was located in front of the camera.
Pyro rubs his hands together with a menacing look on his face as he walks over to the camera that was on a tripod. Pyro looks for a couple of seconds before pushing the button to start recording. He then heads over to the punch bag as he throws a punch combination at it and ends the combination with a Roundhouse Kick.
“Christian DeMarco has gone and done it again hasn’t he?”
Pyro just shakes his head as he continues to throw punches at the punch bag, moving around after he throws some punches in one spot and doing the same again in a different spot.
“Not only am I in a match again that involves Jason Long and Kayla Richards, the son of a bitch has me teaming up with Julius Fairweather. Wait, there’s someone else in this match too, Celestial Envoy, are they just Celestial Lovers in their Halloween costumes?”
Another flurry of punches hits the punch bag as Pyro finishes this one with a Spinning Hook Kick making the bag swing wildly. Grabbing hold of the punch bag, Pyro just grins as he goes back to throwing punches again.
“Usually I’d go off on DeMarco about making teaming me up with Julius Fairweather but that motherfucker is growing on me. Not like genital warts growing on Kayla Richards, the only thing worse than that would be the size of Victoria Mckenzie’s underwear. Actually talking about the size of things, there’s something different about Jason Long. I’m not sure if it’s because he permanently looks like he is trying to smell out some Lucky Charms or just because of his nose but Jason, why the LONG face?”
Even Pyro has to shake his head at the one as he rolls his eyes still throwing punches at the punchbag as he does.
“Let’s be real here for a moment. Why in the hell are Celestial Envoy part of Project: Honor let alone in this match? They don’t belong here, and I’ll be glad to cleanse Fallout by getting rid of them. I’ll happily just set fire to them and dump them in Kayla Richard’s locker room, at least it might smell better. I swear there’s something fishy about Kayla but I just can’t get to the bottom of it, maybe Jason can tell us what it is with his I’m smelling something out face. Celestial Envoy is about as good of a name as The Strader Family and we all know how inbred they’re and how much John Strader sweats in a playground. Wait! For the love of all that’s unholy, please don’t tell me it’s John Strader and Matt Knox in those Halloween costumes. Just the thought of that makes me shudder in disgust and that’s coming from a man that could happily eat his chicken wings while watching a Kayla Richards promo. It’s always the same with her, how much she is the face of Fallout, how she is the best, and how she didn’t lose a match because she wasn’t pinned in it. Your logic is about as relevant as you’re now Kayla because no one cares about you at all. You could leave the company tomorrow and not one single one of us would care. You’re so one-dimensional that it’s actually started to become funny.”
This time Pyro hits a Jumping Roundhouse Kick on the punch bag after he'd thrown the combination of punches. Once he is done, Pyro grabs a bottle of water, unscrews the cap, takes a couple of gulps before doing the bottle lid up and going back to punching the punch bag.
“I wonder if it’s Jason or Kayla who decides to try and say that I’m a one-trick pony, I’ve proved time and time again that I’m not. Yet, all Kayla has proved is that she isn’t the face of Fallout like she claims and even loses the Noble Championship to Pixie Sloane, very noble of you Kayla. Let’s face facts here too, she has lost a whole heap of matches too, all of which she’ll blame other people for or pull dumb excuses out of that ass of hers. Just face it, Kayla, you just aren’t good enough anymore, actually, you never were but I hope you had fun riding your luck because it’s all run out. Julius and I may have had our differences but there is one thing that you and Jason won’t be able to do that Julius and I will do, and that’s work as a team. Let’s hope that Fire And Ice, yeah I know, that’s an awesome name and totally what Julius and I will be using. The hate we have for one another is strong but that hate used together against others will be a whole lot stronger. I’m done with you now Kayla, shame I can’t just leave your existence in a condom-like your father should’ve done, I’ll just do it at Fallout instead.”
Pyro lets out a sigh once again shaking his head at what he just said.
“Jason Long, the man that simped, got the woman, and then almost lost her because of Redd. Others might have hated it if that had happened, I’d have actually shaken Redd’s hand and said well done. Yes, you’re the Prime Champion, and yes you deserve it but you also deserve all the hate and pain that is coming your way. Maybe by the time I’m done in that ring, the next time you take a selfie you’ll be able to do it portrait rather than landscape. I honestly don’t care that you’re Prime Champion, all I care about is that you know that the pain coming your way is going to be worse than you’ve ever experienced before. Before I finish this up, I have something else to say, Fire And Ice are not nice, and we hate you as much as we hate each other!!!”
The punches that Pyro was throwing stop, he grabs the water pouring it over his head before looking directly at the camera. The look in his eyes is both frightening and emotionless as he just Roundhouse Kicks the camera from the tripod. The last thing you hear is the camera hitting the wall before it obviously smashes into several pieces.
