Address the letters to the holes in my butterfly wings. Nothing’s forever, nothing is as good as it seems. And when the clouds won’t iron out, and the monsters creep into your house. Every door is hard to close. Well, I hope you know how proud I am you were created. With the courage to unlearn all of their hatred. But, God, I hope that you’re happier today. ‘Cause I love you and I hope that you’re okay.

A NEW DAWN, A NEW DAY
Having a professional wrestler as a father was a difficult task, especially given that Jaxon was her adoptive father. But, he was the father that she had known. The man who had stepped up where the man who had created her had failed. He had spent the majority of Savannah’s younger years traveling the globe, which meant he was only home on the rare occasion at most. But, Savannah adored him and admired his courageous and brave heart. Every single time she had watched Jaxon wrestle, it made her heart light up with curiosity and fascination.
Over the years, that fascination grew into a want to be inside of the ring. But, Jaxon didn’t want Savannah to put a halt on her studies. So, he had promised her that he would train her once she had graduated High School. If she still wanted to be trained, he would do so himself. So, Savannah worked hard at completing High School and getting her education before she finally brought up the topic of being trained when Jaxon had begun to slowly reach his final days in the ring.
Jaxon’s retirement had come at a surprise to almost the entire family. In fact, it had made them a little sad to see that he had decided to step away from the ring. But, a bigger part of them was proud that he had made the decision for himself. His body was not as strong as it once was, the wear and tear of years of wrestling having taken a toll on him. But, he was also tired and miserable of not having spent enough time with his family. He loved them all dearly and whenever he had to leave them, it made it that much harder each and every single time.
Especially when the younger kids had found it harder to let him leave. There were tantrums and clinging to legs whenever Jaxon had tried to leave. Savannah and Lola both being forced to separate the younger ones from Jaxon. But, all good things must come to an end, and even though Jaxon was calling it quits and hanging up the boots? He still had his wrestling school to help shape the next generation of professional wrestlers.
“You promised me!” It’s a sharp cry of words as Savannah stands inside of the office. Jaxon seated behind his desk as he slowly removes his glasses. They’re in a heated conversation, with Jaxon and Savannah both wearing looks of frustration. “I graduated, I followed your rules, I did everything that you asked of me. All because you promised that you would train me. I can do this, I know I can. But, I can’t do this if you don’t believe in me!” She can feel hot tears sting at her eyes, one hand covered by the sleeve of her hoodie coming up to wipe at her eyes in frustration. “You can’t go back on a promise, not after all this time. Not when I’ve been waiting for this moment since I was just a kid. I’ve never wanted something more than I want this. But, you’re suddenly acting as if I’m a child again and it’s not fair!” Her voice breaks, tears sliding down her cheeks as Jaxon sighs forlorn.
Hands scrub at his face tiredly before he grimaces a bit, it’s hard to see your children grow up. Savannah’s right, she is no longer a child. Maybe that is where the issue lies. She’s no longer the girl he had spent years raising, no longer the little girl who he had tossed several feet into the air, only to catch her when she was in a peal of giggles. A gentle sigh falls from his lips and hands steeple on his desk, gaze falling onto his daughter who stands there in all of her glory.
“Why do you want to become a wrestler? This isn’t a trick question, but it’s the most important question of all. Depending on your answer, we’ll start today. If you’re lucky.” He leans back in his chair, arms crossing loosely over his chest. He anticipates her answer, though he’s known her answer since she was a mere thirteen year old tot still trying to find her place in this world. Every single time since then that he had asked her, she had the same exact answer with hardly a change in things. He was proud of the growth she had made, not just for her family, but for herself. No longer could she not face her own battles, but she faced them head on with determination and a heart of pure gold.
“Oh, come on! You’ve asked me this a bazillion times since I asked you to train me. Has my answer ever changed?” Savannah doesn’t wait for him to answer, instead she lets out a low groan before tossing her head back in exaggeration. She takes a moment to compose herself, fingers wiping stray tears from her face as she inhales a steady and calm breath. A moment later, her gaze falls upon her father who she nods at firmly.
“I don’t want to do this just for money, I know money isn’t all it’s cracked up to be in the business. But, I want to prove myself to the world and show everyone that no matter how small or how kindhearted you are, that you can do anything you set out to do. I want to prove to the world that I am stronger than anyone believes me to be and that above all else? You can do anything you put your mind and heart to.”
She mulls over her answer for a moment, trying to see if there was anything she had missed. But, instead she awaits a response from Jaxon who merely stares at her with furrowed brows. There’s a silence that falls between them and worry and anxiety eats away at her inwardly.
For several seconds, Savannah believes that Jaxon will change his mind. Believes that he will slam the door in her face, metaphorically, and that he will give up on his promise. That he will go back on his word. Instead, a grin that shows just how proud he is with her answer spreads across his lips. The grin alone melts all anxiety and worry that she has, especially when he stands up to hug her tightly against his chest.
“You’re not a kid anymore, Savannah, that much is true. But, you’ll always be my girl. I’ve told you time and time again, this is not as simple as you think it is or as simple as it might seem. This is not going to be easy, you will get frustrated, but knowing you?” He pauses, glancing down at her as he carefully rests his hands upon her shoulders. “I know that you’ll give it one hundred and twenty percent. Now, go get yourself changed and let’s get you prepped for today’s session.”
It takes everything in her not to let out the loudest squeal, instead, she clings to him in the tightest hug ever, squeezing him tight. “Thanks, pops. I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. I won’t let you down, I swear it.” She flashes him a grin, quickly grabbing her bag, before she’s shuffling away with an excited whoop as those in the gym let out laughter at Savannah’s infectious excitement. Jaxon watches her with a pointed gaze, all too proud of the young woman she is shaping up to be. He knows this will be no walk in the park, but he knows that she can handle even the worst of it.
If not, he’ll be there. No matter what. He had taken up the role of being her father when she was just two years old, when the man who was supposed to be her father had walked out on his children. It may have taken a toll on the kids back then, especially given how young Asher was at the time, but it was the best decision he could have ever made. He hadn’t looked back since and he never would ever again.
MAY 15TH, 2015
BRIGHTEST DAYS, DARKEST NIGHTS
You were not guaranteed tomorrow, that much had been made abundantly clear in life. You had to take the days as best as you could and do with it what you could while you still could. Yeah, pretty confusing statement, isn’t it? But, it’s one that Savannah did her best to live by. Always live the day as if it were her last. She had been wrestling on the independent scene for at least two years now, something she had enjoyed the most. Especially seeing everyone light up whenever she made her presence known.
But, today was not a day full of sunshine and smiles and rainbows. She was facing quite a dangerous challenge and one that she was more anxious about than she had dared to admit out loud. Scaffold matches were not to be taken lightly, especially with how dangerous things could be from so far up above the ring. But, she tried not to think about her fear of heights at that moment.
“You don’t have to do this, you know. You could always walk away, keep your dignity, stay alive.” Jaxon was standing in the doorway of the room, Savannah’s back facing away from him as she wrapped tape around her wrists. She takes in his words, lets them sink in fully. He’s right, she could walk away from this match and go about her life as she had any other day. But, that would make her a coward, and a coward she was not.
She always took on any challenge placed before her, no matter what dangerous path was paved ahead of her. She knew what she was getting into, knew the dangers of what she had signed up for. But, she wasn’t going to back down. Not if it meant she had a fighting chance to put an end to everything that had been going on lately. “I’m proud of you for sticking to your guns and doing this. But, you have to understand that-” Jaxon is abruptly cut off as Savannah finally and slowly makes it to her feet from her spot on the floor.
“That this is dangerous and there could be heavy complications should I end up failing. I know, I knew what I was getting into when I accepted this challenge. Wrestling is no mere walk in the park, someone wise once told me that a long time ago.” She gives a very faint grin, one that disappears just as soon as it’s there. “But, I have to do this. Not because I absolutely have to, but because I need to put an end to all of this once and for all. Because I need to make sure that she can never hurt anyone ever again.” There’s a gentle breath that spills from her lips as soon as she finishes speaking. Long locks are pulled back into a tight ponytail soon after as she brushes past Jaxon once finished prepping for her match.
There’s silence that falls between them, an unspoken connection that they both knew. There were no words needed, no mere speaking that could change her mind. When Savannah had her heart and soul set on something, there was no changing her mind or going back. The two shared one last parting glance, a knowing look between them, before Savannah was heading out for her match. Jaxon quickly moved towards the outdoor area so he could keep a close eye on the action.
Out of sight, out of mind in his own little corner. Though, no one could have foresaw the damage that would be done here tonight. No one could have prevented what would happen a little under forty five minutes later. Something that would stick with them for as long as they could remember. Something that would leave Savannah with scars she had tried hard to ignore, both physically and mentally.
The match had not gone in Savannah’s favor, in fact, it had left Savannah broken and beaten in the end. Not in a mere sense of having lost the match and having to recover for a few weeks or days or whatever short amount of time. This was far more serious than anyone could have imagined. It hadn’t ended how any of them had expected, in fact, this was the worst possible scenario. Savannah had fallen from the scaffold after a devastating Big Boot to the face promptly after her previous move had been calculated and countered.
All it had taken was one minor flaw and a slip up for Savannah to tumble down from the scaffold and crash into the table so many feet below them. It was as if everything that followed had happened in slow motion. Savannah’s face a bloodied crimson mask as her eyes burned and everything seemed to hurt.
Then, it was the sudden burning sensation in her neck that gave her the first sign that something was wrong. Fingers just barely twitched as she laid there in an intense amount of pain. As soon as the pain had come, it seemed to become nothing but a numb sensation following it. In fact, she could just barely feel her fingers or her legs. Medics had immediately rushed over to check on her and Jaxon was beside her in a heartbeat.
Worry etched across his features, even if she hadn’t been able to see it. “No, no goddammit! I told you. I told you this would happen! You’re so stubborn, you don’t listen! Somebody get a goddamn stretcher right now!” It took everything in him not to shake her until she woke up. But, she wasn’t fully out of it just yet. She could still hear everyone around her in a panic. But, she couldn’t bring herself to speak or respond or move. It was the scariest and most helpless feeling in the world.
The next several months were filled with even worse moments. There was no way she could wrestle, as far as the doctors were concerned, Savannah’s career was going to be cut short when it felt as if it had just begun. It left her in a downward spiral, to have something she had worked so hard for taken away from her due to her own reckless decisions.
If she hadn’t been so careless, if she hadn’t tried to one-up her opponent, if she hadn’t done this, if she hadn’t done that. All she could think about was where she had gone wrong and how she had compromised her own body in the end. Though, there was a very slim chance that the surgery could help her. She was willing to do whatever it took if it meant getting back into the ring sometime after rehab.
OCTOBER 20TH, 2016
THE ROAD TO RECOVERY
“So, what’d they say?” It’s only been thirty minutes since Savannah has returned from rehab and a doctor's appointment. She had gone in expecting bad news, but had come out with the most unexpected news of all. It was practically too hard to contain her excitement when she had come through the door. Her younger brother, Asher, was seated on the couch where she carefully flopped down across his lap. She glanced up at him, just as he glanced up at her. Both wearing matching unreadable expressions before a grin spread across her lips full of excitement. She sat up, settling down beside him as a wistful sigh escaped her a moment later. “Well, come on already. Spit it out!” He elbows her gently, digging his elbow into her ribcage as she hisses slightly. One hand moving to rub at her ribs just after.
“God, okay, okay! Anyway, they basically said I can get back in the ring. They want me to finish up with rehab and see how I do over the next few months. But, after all of that is done, they said I might be ready to get back into the ring.” Though, her face reads excitement and it’s clear that she’s happy about the news. A bigger part of her is worried that maybe she might not be able to handle it. Maybe she’s too afraid to try again after everything she has already had to endure.
But, another part of her feels that if she can handle neck surgery and the road to recovery? Then, she can handle the training and the bumps and the bruises and everything that follows after. The weight of the world feels like it’s upon her shoulders, but ultimately, it’s her decision on whether she wants to continue or to call it quits to take it easy on her body. But, knowing her, she’s not willing to part with this yet. She’s not ready to throw in the towel.
There’s a quiet that falls over the pair, Asher finally breaking that silence. “That’s awesome, really. I’m proud of you. But… Do you feel like you should get back in the ring? I mean, given everything that has happened. Do you feel like that’s something that you want to do?” He settles his gaze upon his older sister, brows furrowed slightly as he waits in anticipation. That’s a question that she finds hard to answer. She’s scared, admittedly, to go back to doing what she loves. To get back into the ring considering everything she had already been put through. It’s not a question she can so easily answer. Not a question she can just flat out say she has an answer for, instead, she offers a slight shrug as her gaze stares blankly ahead at the television playing some movie.
“I don’t know…” She pauses, trying to find the right words. “What I went through, what I’m still going through, it’s… terrifying. To know that I could so easily hurt myself again if something were to happen. But, even so, there’s a bigger part of me that has a lot left to prove. A bigger part of me that has a lot left to accomplish. I don’t want to give up. Not yet. Not if I have anything to say about it.” She pauses, licking over her lips in trepidation as her face scrunches slightly.
“Only I can confirm whether or not I get back into the ring. Only I can control my own fears, only I can control my own destiny from here on out. There’s a lot to consider and I know if I went to Pops and asked him if he would be willing to get me back into ring shape… He’d probably have an entire aneurysm and I couldn’t be held responsible for that.” She’s only partially joking, but she knows that Jaxon would not be happy with the mere thought of her considering getting back into the ring.
A comfortable silence fills the air and Asher wraps an arm carefully around his sisters shoulders. There are rare moments where they get along, moments that remind her why she adores him so much. He was her first ever best friend, the first boy in her life she had sworn to protect, the first boy who had ever truly warmed her heart. Moments like this were more than worth it in her book. “Well, you know me. I’m the most loyal dog you could ever meet. No matter what happens, I’m in your corner and I’ll be in your corner no matter your decision.” He presses a kiss to her temple, releasing her a moment later before he rises to his feet. The spot he had been sitting in sunken in a bit, slowly rising back into proper shape a few seconds later.
“Wanna go get some warm apple cider?” Lips curl into a bright grin as she stands up, she slides one of Jaxon’s credit cards into her grasp from her wallet. “Pops’ treat.” Laughter spills from the pair before the credit card is slid back into the wallet carefully. Without another word, the pair slip out into the Autumn air of the evening. If there was one thing to consider, it was that no matter what had happened, Savannah would always have the support of her family at the end of the day. It meant more to her than words could ever express. To know that they cared so deeply for her and that they were willing to be there when she needed them the most.
SOMETIME IN THE MIDDLE OF 2017
NOT AT THE KIDDIE TABLE ANYMORE
The past several months had been spent vigorously going through rehab and training. It had taken weeks of practically begging Jaxon to consider even training her again after what he had been witness to. But, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his kids. So, it had come with the mere price of making sure he did his best with what he was given. It hadn’t been an easy task for Savannah, but she wanted to do her best to get back into shape so she could get back into the ring as soon as possible. There was no longer anything holding her back after completing rehabilitation. But, training to get back in the ring was a lot harder than she had thought it would be. Though, she was willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she was back in proper shape.
It’s hard to pinpoint how many weeks had gone by before she had been contacted by a company. The first major company she had ever signed with. This was a big deal for her and she wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into before finalizing any deals. She had already had a few matches back on the independent scene recently.
But, this was bigger than she could have imagined. They had been willing to work with her and make sure that above all else, she was comfortable. No matter how nervous the thought of signing with a major company was, she had gotten help from her father with making adjustments and deals to the contract that had been offered.
It had been no easy task, but it had been one that she was ready for. Whether she dared to admit it or not, this also meant that there was a lot more at stake than she was ready for. There was an entire world out there for her to conquer, though it was a scary thought to think that maybe this was not something she was prepared for.
It had taken her just under a month to mentally prepare herself for what was to come, before the time to move had finally come around. Bags packed, head held high, tears streaming down her cheeks as she said her goodbyes to her family. To say it pained her to have to leave them behind was an understatement. But, what she was going to do was going to be more than worth it in the long run.
“Hey, come on. She’ll be back! Our girl’s going to be a star, you guys!” Jaxon’s boisterous voice rang out, one arm wrapping around his daughter's shoulders carefully. The rest of them swarm around before piling in for the biggest family hug ever. It takes everything in her not to break out into sobbing, but she manages somehow to keep it held together. As the crew slowly disperse back inside, it finally gives her time to say her goodbyes to her parents. Though, she’s not sure she can keep it together for much longer when it comes to the both of them. Her mother smiles fondly through her own tears, wrapping her daughter into a tight hug.
Nose buries into her mothers shoulder as she lets out a gentle and shaky sigh. She practically clings to the older woman, before gently letting go of her. One of her mothers hands affectionately pats at her cheek. “Don’t forget about us little people while you’re out there taking over the world, okay?” There’s laughter from them both as Savannah hugs her mother one final time. “Could never forget about you guys. Ever. I love you so much. I’ll text and call every single day.” She doesn’t let go of her mothers hands until she’s given no other choice. Her mother soon walks away back inside of the house as Savannah is left with Jaxon.
“So, this is it, eh? My girl’s all grown up now.” She can tell he’s getting all choked up and she drops her bags, nearly tackling him in the tightest hug she can manage. She can no longer keep her emotions in check. Not when the man who had shaped her into the woman she is today was standing before her. The both of them are in tears, but Savannah is the one left sobbing as Jaxon carefully cups her cheeks in both of his hands. “You’re gonna be a star, my girl. I just know it. No matter what, you keep that heart of gold and you don’t back down from anybody. You hear me? No one.” He pulls her into another crushing hug as she melts against him, eyes closing tightly as she tries to will the tears away.
“I don’t even know what to say to you right now. I don’t want to say goodbye because I know I’m gonna see you guys again. But, it’s gonna be awhile this time. Was it always this hard? You know, when you were running around the globe?” She finds it hard to speak properly through her tears, but she just barely manages to calm down after a few deep breaths. Hands wiping at her face as she tries to calm down a bit. Jaxon lets out a light chuckle, thumb brushing a stray tear or two from her cheeks. He nods, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Even harder. But, it gets easier when you realize you’re doing something really amazing. It might not feel like it right now, but you’re doing the right thing. You’re doing what you have dreamed about since you were just a kid. The world is going to know the name of Savannah Sunshine and you’re going to win all kinds of gold, kiddo.” His voice gets choked up again and he has to look away, has to wipe at his own tears as he clears his throat soon after. “You’re gonna go far, kid. All the way to the moon and stars.” He grins, their own little saying being thrown her way.
“And even past the Milky Way?” There’s a grin that spreads across her lips as Jaxon nods firmly. The pair share another hug that lasts a little longer this time. They pull away only when Savannah’s Uber arrives to pick her up. She swallows thickly, offering a small smile to her father who holds one of her hands in his. “I love you, pops. Thank you. For everything. Words could never express how thankful I am for you. But, I’m gonna make you proud of me. I swear.” She presses a quick kiss to his cheek, walking backwards until she pops open the trunk of the Uber. Bags tossed into it carefully before she took one last look towards the house. All of her siblings and both parents standing on the porch.
A shaky smile is tossed in their direction, one hand raised into the air as she gives a small wave towards them. Everyone stands there, just watching her until she’s in the car. She gives the driver the address of the airport before he’s pulling away from the home. Her family raced out onto the street and followed the car until it reached the end of the street. She stares out of the back windshield, watches them all wave at her until they’re out of sight and she’s off into her new journey in life. The road will not be an easy one, but it’s a path she is willing to take no matter what.
CURRENT DAY
THE WAR WAGES ON
“Come on, you getting soft on me already, kid?” Boisterous laughter fills the air and Savannah whips herself off of the ropes, charging towards Jaxon who braces himself for impact. Savannah comes charging towards him, Jaxon catches her as she swings around and around, before nailing him with a Satellite DDT right onto the canvas. Jaxon slowly gets back to his feet as Savannah scouts her next options. He stands there, calculating Savannah’s process as she furrows her brows slightly. “What’s wrong? Are you stuck again? I can give you a few options to go from.” His words are gentle, even as Savannah frowns slightly. She wants to do this on her own, wants to prove she can do things without help. Instead, she shakes her head as she goes for the next move. This one takes Jaxon by surprise entirely as she moves to stand outside on the apron.
Hands brace against the top rope as she faces the ropes, before springboarding up into a handstand on the top rope, flipping her body around carefully with aided support from the ropes. She swings around, drops her legs onto Jaxon’s shoulders, and uses the momentum to drop him. A simple Slingshot Springboard Headscissors Takedown has Jaxon flung halfway across the ring with the momentum. Savannah looks all too pleased with herself as Jaxon sits up on his knees. The two share a look with one another before breaking out into laughter. “Well, goddamn, kiddo. You pull something like that out in your match? You just might have a chance of beating the odds.” He grins, sweat dripping from both of them as they move to sit on the ring apron.
They both sit side by side, towels loosely resting against their shoulders after drying their faces of sweat. Water bottles halfway chugged down before they settled them in their laps. “How are you feeling heading into this match anyway? I know this is a lot bigger than what you’re used to. Plus, you have to deal with not only someone you have some kind of “beef” with, but your boyfriend as well.” Jaxon sizes his daughter up, eyes her carefully as she stares off into space with a simple shrug. Lips curl into a slight pout as brows knit together briefly. Everyone kept asking her that question, how was she supposed to feel? Words were hard to come up with to answer him properly.
“Like I feel with any other match. Ready to conquer the challenge set before me. It’s not going to be easy, but I’m obviously going to do my best to come out on top. Only one person can be the victor at the end of this. No matter what happens, it has to be me.” She swallows down some water, wipes at her mouth with the back of her hand. There’s a lot on her mind still and she pulls her cell phone from her back pocket. The screen lights up as she holds her phone in the palm of her hand, a picture of her and Jason being shown before a small smile crosses her lips. “It’ll be the greatest challenge I could ever ask for. But, it’ll be a challenge I’m not backing down from either. Here, do me a favor and make yourself useful, old man.” She grins cheekily, carefully tossing him her cell phone.
Large and calloused hands carefully catch the phone tossed his way. He slides until the camera option shows up and flips to the usage of the back camera. Savannah stands patiently waiting with hands clasped behind her back, a small smile on her face as he gives her a thumbs up with one of his hands. The camera recording Savannah as a smile crosses her lips, she waves a hand in greeting. “Hi guys! It’s me again. Except I’m joined by my Pops this week. Say hi, pops.” The camera shifts around until Jaxon comes into view with a grin. “Hi pops!” The view shifts back onto Savannah who rolls her eyes playfully. “Ugh, dad jokes? Really? Anyway, back to the task at hand!” Hands clasped together soundly in front of her as she lets out a gentle sigh.
“This show, I have a pretty big challenge ahead of me. A triple threat against Kayla and Jason. A match that I am a little nervous heading into. But, I’ve never been one to back down from a challenge before, eh?” She flashes a grin, head shaking slightly. “Another day, another win to collect. Except it’ll be a little harder this time. But, I’m going to give it my best just as I would have if I was facing any other opponents. There’s a lot to say regarding this match, but words are a little hard. I’ll do my best to get my point across though.” She pauses, lips pursing slightly for a brief moment.
“This is not the first nor the second time I’ve been thrown into a match involving Kayla. It’s kind of getting repetitive at this point and repetitive makes me one bored girl. Kayla always finds something new to say about me. Though, in the end, it usually ties together in a repeat fashion of everything I already know she thinks about me. I’ll give her one thing, she is very talented. I would never discredit anyone’s skills. But, Kayla has this notion that this isn’t going to be a typical triple threat match. So, let me make one thing very clear for you, darling.” A brief pause follows as Savannah clears her throat.
“This is a triple threat match, meaning that all three of us are opponents. Just because Jason and I are a thing doesn’t make him exempt from being my enemy all the same. It’s a free for all and if you think for one second that I’m going to go easy on him just because? Then, you clearly have the wrong impression of me. In fact, I plan on doing whatever I need to in order to make sure I get my point across. Whether that’s pinning you or pinning Jason or even making one of you tap out. Simple as that. Glad we got that out of the way.” She flashes a sickeningly sweet smile at the camera as it shifts slightly.
“I’m sure I’ve made it abundantly clear that I do not like you. Just like you don’t like me. I’m okay with that, I know I’m not everyone’s cup of tea. But, at least I can be respectful all the same. You have this notion of disrespecting everyone and having the nastiest attitude I have ever seen. You know, things like that really, really make for one ugly person. So, I guess I can see why you’re so angry. But, I intend to make sure I get my point across with you this time around. You think of me as some weak minded and simple little girl. But, you have me confused for someone else. Clearly. Which is exactly why I’ll make sure you never think of me as that ever again at the end of this all.”
Fingers loosen hair from ponytail as scrunchie is carefully clung to wrist. A gentle breath falls from Savannah’s lips as she tries to find proper words in her next case. “Now, enough about Kayla. Let’s move on to the best one that I saved for last. The Prime Champion, Jason Long.” A silly little grin crosses her lips and she has to take a moment to remind herself what she’s talking about. “Jason Long is talented, whether I’m a little biased when I say it or not. He’s incredibly smart when it comes to things inside of the ring. Quick-witted and easily adapts to those around him. There’s a reason why he is the current Prime Champion. So, I have to give him credit where credit is due. I could go on and on with niceties when it comes to that man. But…” She pauses, sighs with a frown.
“We are enemies in this match. No matter what, I have to put aside how I feel for him and I have to treat him just as I would anyone else I’m going up against in a match. I’m not treating him like anything less because I don’t do that. At the end of the day, I have to do what I have to do in order to make sure I come out on top. Even if that means taking him out in order to do so.” She exhales a gentle breath, head rolling around slightly for a second before a small smile crosses her lips.
“Above all else, I have to make sure I worry about myself and look at the bigger picture. No matter what happens, only one of us can win and two of us will be the losers in the end. I’m willing to go above and beyond in this match, though I’m sure my opponents just might be counting me out. Which means I have a lot more to prove. I have to pull out everything in my arsenal to make sure I leave my impression however I can. But, I do wish both of my opponents the best of luck regardless. They’ll definitely be needing it.” She smiles softly, waving a hand as the scene fades to darkness a few seconds later.
