LAX, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
FEATURING: ASHER ANDREWS, KYLER ANDREWS, MARIA ANDREWS & OTHERS
Goodbyes were always hard for her. Especially when it came to her son. But, it wasn’t a forever thing. She would see him again. Soon, hopefully. As they pulled up to the entrance of the airport, a gentle breath spilled from Savannah’s lips. Forehead momentarily resting against the steering wheel as her mother picked up both bags from the trunk. Kyler sound asleep in the backseat squeezing his little plush Charizard close to his chest. She didn’t have the heart to wake him, instead shifting from her spot in the driver’s seat, to move around the car and over to the passenger side to carefully place a kiss to his forehead. Soft curls framed his face, even in their messy bun. Arms carefully lifted the boy from the backseat into her arms and into her mothers arms as Savannah pressed one more kiss to his temple. Lips resting there for a moment or two before she pulled away with a small shaky breath.
She stole a tight one armed hug from her mother, leaning into her momentarily before pulling away. “I love you guys. Let me know when you land back home safely. I’ll see you guys soon.” She smiled softly, pressing one last kiss to her mothers cheek and her son’s cheek before watching as the pair headed into the airport. She watched them until they were out of sight, someone clearing their throat a few feet away behind her. She could recognize him before he even spoke, there was a certain air about him that he carried with him everywhere he went. The way he carried himself, his attitude, the scowl that seemed to be permanently etched across his features.
“Sucks, doesn’t it? Having to leave him behind so often?” Asher’s voice piped up as Savannah slowly turned around, eyes closed momentarily as she inhaled a steady breath. “Ash’, can we not do this right now? Please…” She didn’t bother saying much else as she got back into the driver’s seat, ignoring him when he got into the passenger seat of the car before she started driving aimlessly. “If you don’t talk about it, you’ll never feel any better. Seriously, Sav’. You know I love you, but this isn’t healthy.” His words only make her grit her teeth as she slams on the brake, parking the car abruptly into an empty spot farther away from any other vehicles. She sits there, hands gripping the steering wheel as she stares blankly ahead.
It’s dead silent inside of the car, nothing except the sound of their breathing being heard. “You do not get to sit here and be a hypocrite, Asher. After everything you’ve done lately, you don’t get to talk to me about bottling up my feelings. You just spent the past few days arguing with Mike and Jason. Which, by the way, was really fucking disrespectful and uncalled for. Have you ever thought about how that makes me feel or look when you tell people things that I trust you with?” She’s almost positive she could burn a hole right through the windshield. She loved her brother, really. But, he wasn’t the most happy go lucky, upbeat person around.
“He deserved to know the truth. You shouldn’t have to sit there and pretend that everything’s okay when it isn’t. How do you think I feel as your baby brother when you come to me to vent? Which, I’m sure that’s out the window now, all things considered. But, that’s what I’m here for. You can’t just keep things like that to yourself. Remember what happened the last time you kept all of that bad energy bot-” “SHUT UP!” She slammed her hands against the steering wheel, having had enough of him speaking to her when he was completely in the wrong. She closed her eyes, forehead resting against the steering wheel as she took several calming breaths. Using the techniques offered to her in therapy to calm herself down.
“. . .” There’s a beat of silence as Asher gingerly reaches a hand out, lightly rubbing at her back, before resting on her shoulder. “Sav’, this cannot keep happening. I know you don’t want to hear this from me right now. I know you don’t want to hear anything from me, but you need to hear this from someone who is unbiased and will give it to you straight up.” He pauses, allowing her to wipe hot tears away from her vision. She sniffles, wipes angrily at the hot tears that spill down her cheeks. Tries to will away the way fire fills her veins as she hiccups, sputters, tries to quell the feeling within. She’s angry, she’s upset, she’s feeling way too many emotions at once. But, this is the life she chose. These were the choices she had to live with. Though, she wouldn’t change anything. Especially not the recent changes over the past couple months. It had been almost a year since she had been able to consider herself free of the darkness that had taken over her life. Yet, she couldn’t escape so easily. Not when a piece of that darkness continued to torment her, left buried deep within her very core. Something she tried her hardest to stray away from. Something she never wanted to touch ever again. But, it wasn’t so simple some days. Though, some days were easier than others.
There’s a stillness in the air once she finally calms down, tears stilling and breath mere gentle hiccups as she comes down from a brief breakdown. Asher sitting silently in the passenger seat as she stares ahead into the breaking of sunset. Purples, oranges, yellows, and pinks spread across the horizon as she took a moment to really appreciate it. Nothing calmed her down more than being able to see such pretty colors. As she turned to glance at her brother, she clicked her seatbelt into place. “You’re right, he did deserve to know. But, it’s still not your place to say something about it. I was doing perfectly fine dealing with my emotions on my own. I didn’t need you adding fuel to my neverending list of problems. But, since you’re here anyway. You might as well make yourself useful and tag along.” She shrugged, pulling out of the parking lot and out of sight. She wasn’t entirely sure where she was heading right now, just aimlessly driving around in silence. “You know, I don’t hate Jason. I mean, he wouldn’t be my first choice in many suitors or whatever they’re calling it these days. But, he’s good to you and he makes you happy.” There’s a gentle pause in Asher’s words as he shrugs slightly, arms crossing over his chest defiantly. “I think the problem is I can see some similarities between us. Which is honestly rather annoying, but there’s nothing I can do about that. You know how I am, I’m a natural hot-head. I don’t mean to be a raging dick, but things have been a lot harder lately. I’m trying. You know that. We’re both trying. We both have goals. We both want to get back to normal.” He casts a glance over in her direction, an unreadable expression on Savannah’s face.
“You sure do have a funny way of showing you don’t hate him. Every single interaction the two of you have ever had has been nothing but hostile. Which is honestly very draining for me. I want my two favorite guys to at least try to get along or not talk to one another at all if you can’t act civil around one another. Which I would also hate for it to be that bad because then that means I would have to put my foot down. Either by kicking the both of you in the shins or by knocking your heads together until you both stop acting like a bunch of babies.” She sticks her tongue out, gentle sigh following suit. “I just want to not have to worry about either of you punching each other in the face whenever you see each other. My biggest concern is that one day you guys are going to spontaneously combust upon actually meeting and then, I’ll have to be in the middle shoving my little fists and boots into every which direction. Quite frankly, I would prefer no violence. But, yeah.” She tucks a strand of loose hair behind her ear, stopping at a red light. Fingers clicking on the radio as “Driver’s License” by Olivia Rodrigo soon filled the air. The rest of the drive is quiet, peaceful, spent in complete and comfortable silence as the pair drive around.

FEATURING: JASON LONG
“So, Kermit and Miss Piggy used to be a thing. But, they spent too much time arguing because Miss Piggy is kind of a primadonna and mean and bossy and she has to have the whole wide world revolve around her. But, they did love each other like a whole lot. But, Miss Piggy was just a lot to deal with and Kermit couldn’t deal with her ego and-” Jason blinks, staring at the television screen before turning his attention towards the blue haired woman curled up at his side. “Wait, wait. Slow down, darling. Are you trying to tell me something here?” He rose a brow, arm wrapped around her waist as he glanced down at the smaller female. Her own brows furrowing together in worry momentarily, until she pieced together why he seemed so concerned.
“Oh! God, no. No. I was just trying to explain everything. I know they’re just puppets to people. But, they’re the most entertaining and Kermit is kind of my favorite and Miss Piggy is really pretty but her attitude is just…” She grimaces, sighing softly. She leans up, stealing a gentle kiss which he leans the rest of the way to meet her for. It’s soft, slow, and right to the point. Earning a grin from the smaller woman who hops out of the bed excitedly. “Now, with that worry shoved to the side… I’m ready for my close up!” She gave a salute, full of vigor and excitement. Until realizing she was still in her pajamas. Nose scrunching slightly before she gave a small shrug. “No, no. This is perfect actually. Kermit The Frog would be so proud of me!” She does a little twirl, showing off the entirety of her Kermit The Frog one piece pajama outfit. Tugging the hood up over her head, it’s a lot bigger than she had thought. Eyes covered with the hood as she takes a seat with legs crossed criss cross applesauce as she sits at the foot of the bed.
Jason holds the cellphone in his hands, sliding the camera on as he slides it to video. He squints momentarily, for added playfulness, before finally hitting the record button. Blinking red in the upper right hand corner of the phone. “Is it recording?” Savannah’s voice pipes up, as the blurry view of her becomes vibrant and clear. Jason giving a brief thumbs up for her to see. She plants a bright smile onto her face, raising her right hand slightly to wiggle fingers in greeting at the camera. “Hi guys! It’s me, Savannah. But… I think you might already know that.” Brows furrow slightly, nose scrunching a bit before she continues. “Anyway, it’s my favorite time of the week! The part of the week where I get to make lots of new friends and kick all kinds of butts. The best time of all!” She grins, hand clapping together momentarily, only to rest in her lap as she seems to lose her train of thought.
She stares off into space for a moment, blinking slightly before shaking her head. “Sorry, where was I? Oh, right! New friends and lots of butt kicking. This week, my new special friend is…” She pauses, trying to remember who it was she was supposed to be facing. It takes her no longer than a few moments and a brief reminder from Jason. “Oh! Right, Drago… Santiago? Yep, that guy! Um… well, I have never met the guy. But, I’m sure he’s really nice!” She smiles brightly, but Jason merely shakes his head, as if to disagree with her. Smile dropping only slightly as she seems down a bit. “... Or not. Which is okay, too! Friends are friends and the best kinds of friends are the ones who you get to kick butts with! Even if it means leaving some not so gentle impressions upon them.” She nods firmly, putting on a brave face as her nose crinkles slightly. “Except, I hope Drago isn’t a sore loser because I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I am not walking away without a win. It simply cannot be done, no way!” She shakes her head defiantly, finger wagging slightly towards the camera.
“Sometimes, the best things happen when you take the time to accept your mistakes and failures. It gives you time to reflect and it looks like you know all about losses, my friend.” She pulls out her notepad, resembling that of what Steve used to use on Blue’s Clues. Giant crayon pulled from the top of the notepad as she squints slightly. Giant crayon used to cross off every match she lists off. “Unbreakable Resolution, loss to Elena Dedraca. Wired For Sound, loss to Julius Fairweather. Wait, hold on. I gotta back track.” She flips back a few pages, circling something important. “The AWF Icons. An undefeated tag team you were part of alongside one, Jason Long. Well, isn’t that an interesting little tidbit?” She tilts her head slightly, nodding a bit as she taps her chin with the large crayon. “So, tell me… Was Jason as much of a pain in the butt to deal with as a tag partner too?” Her tone is teasing, tongue sticking out playfully at the man behind the cellphone before she focuses once more. “I hear you like to turn your back on people who helped elevate your career into something a little more. Sounds to me like you sapped up every single drop of success as best as you could until there was nothing left to take. You know, this reminds me of my own former partner. That’s a story for another time, but you both seem like cowards to me. Which is more than enough to go by.” She pauses, hands folding into her lap once more as she takes a moment to collect her thoughts.
“Unfortunately, I can only see one outcome for this match. The one where you’re staring up at the bright lights and thanking your lucky stars that you didn’t lose a tooth or something. Sometimes, I forget my own strength. I keep reminding myself that even though I’m tiny, my kicks are very, very deadly and I’m not afraid to go above and beyond to ensure I give it my all. While the obvious goal is to make sure I win?” She pauses, leaning forward a bit before rocking back almost falling right off of the edge of the bed. She catches herself, hand resting gently over her chest as she shakes her head. “As I was saying… Winning might be the goal for most people. But, I want to make a real impression. I want everyone to know that Savannah heckin’ Sunshine is not to be messed with. It’s unfortunate that my welcome wagon to Fallout has to start like this. But, that’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.” She shrugs, hands waving around for added effect as she places them right back into her lap. She seems momentarily lost in her own thoughts, until Jason reaches out to lightly tap at her knee. Pulled away from her reverie as she blinks a bit.
“Just like Red Riding Hood always seems to one up The Big Bad Wolf, you’ll be cut down to size when it comes to me. I like making sure I’m giving not just one hundred percent, but the whole dang shebang.” She’s fired up, moving around in her spot as she goes off on a tangent. “That means that I’m going to make sure regardless of the outcome, that I leave you with a lasting impression that Savannah Sunshine can hold her own. That Savannah Sunshine is not just a damsel in distress. In this situation, I am David. Come into battle with a proverbial slingshot to take down the giant, Goliath… only to cut the head off of Goliath in the end of it all. Obviously, there will be no beheading of anyone in this match. But, it’s called a metaphor for a reason.” She pauses, cracking her knuckles for a moment. “In the end, the small and seemingly weak opponent of this match? Well, she will come out victorious with her hand raised high into the air while you’re licking your wounds at the end of it all. I hear taking a loss can be easy for some people, but for others? Well, they like to take matters into their own hands. I just hope you’re not the sore loser in this case.” She wears a brief unreadable expression, before a bright smile crosses her lips once more. Right hand raising once again as she waves her hand in the direction of the camera.
“Well, that’s all the time I’ll take up for any of you today. Now, it’s back to Muppets marathons and popcorn, bye!” She waves goodbye, smile never leaving her face until Jason turns the camera in his direction. “See you soon, old friend.” The words leave Jason in a joking manner, scene fading to black a few moments later as he stops recording.
