Before I say anything else, I just have one question- and hopefully management has an answer for me:
Who in the office did I manage to piss off?
Was it Rock Johnson? Or maybe was it Indy Darling, himself, since he's the one who decides who faces who on these shows? That's the only reason that I can think of for why I'm tagging with Cadillac Jackson's bitch ass against an actual real tag team in Phantom Troupe. Because yeah, being forced to team up with someone I clearly have no love whatsoever for and is the challenger to my championship is a perfect idea- It always works out. Never in the HISTORY of wrestling has it usually led to the makeshift team turning against each other in the middle of the match and then usually costing themselves the win.
But you know what? I should have seen that coming. Management probably thinks this is entertaining, and it isn't the first time my patience has been tested by the people above- but it changes nothing. I am still the X-Factor Champion and I will stay that way once I beat Cadillac, and I can stay cool under pressure- this isn't the first time I've been put in a situation like this and it surely won't be the last.
I know what everyone's thinking. The old, tired, cliche question everyone asks when two wrestlers- well, I'm a wrestler, he's a wannabe- who don't like each other are put together. Can they coexist?
Yes, we can. At least I will try to. I can put our differences to the side for one night and just one night only to get the job done. Do you think I'd let my ego get ahead of my career? I'm the Shining Star- the person with the most wins in the entirety of Project: Honor for a reason. When the odds are against me, I always pull through no matter what. Everyone thought Lance Williams had my number because he got lucky once until I beat him seven points to six in an Iron Man match. I always have and always will fight with everything I've got to steal the show and remind everyone why I am the Heart and Soul of Project: Honor. Yes, I think Cadillac's an absolute moron who think he's hot shit now because KaChow gave him a rimjob- but I'm more focused on winning this upcoming match more than anything.
So, Cadillac, honey- don't screw this up. Don't try to use the single brain cell you have to act clever and try to betray me or cost us the match, because we both know- The moment that I get my hands on you if you even think about it, you might not make it to the Pay Per View once you leave our tag match on a stretcher bent like a pretzel. I hope I've made myself crystal clear. Get it? Got it? Good. Stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours- and we just might have a chance of making this terrine idea work.
And as for the team that we'll be facing? Phantom Troupe, you two impressed me greatly last Proving Ground- with you both obviously carrying Cadillac to victory. I got to see what the both of you are made of, and you are one hell of a tag team admittedly- no matter how new you two are, you gave me a challenge- and because of you both, my team was beaten. Here's the problem though, sweethearts:
Neither of you beat me.
Neither of you put me down. Your team took out the weakest link of ours and that was it, and while i do respect you both- there's no way you're going to pin me in this match. I'm not Cadillac's friend and we're certainly not a synergetic tag team, but that doesn't mean I don't have any experience to know how to make a team work. The first Warrior Rising Champion, Zane, and I made it to the finals of the tournament that crowned the inaugural Tag Team Champions. Emmanuelle and I have won all but one match together as a team, I can be a team player when I need to be- and while yes, you two are an actual team- you're both still new to this. I've been on Proving Ground since the very first episode.
Ideally, I would love to face you two with an actual partner- maybe someday Emmanuelle and I will share the ring across from you, and you'll get a real team to fight- but for now? I have to make do with the situation I'm in- and while it annoyed me heavily at first, I can put my feelings on the matter to the side.
I'm going to make sure people see why I'm a champion- that winning this belt wasn't just some fluke. Phantom Troupe may have the advantage- and that may be what gets them the win soon enough, but that won't deter from fighting my hardest. I'll take on you both on my own if it comes down to that.
Follow my lead, Cadillac. I know winning matches is a foreign concept to you, but if you don't let your thick skull get in the way of our victory- we can do this. Then after that? We go back to our separate ways until it's time for me to make you tap out in front of thousands of people and finally shut you and that little KaChow prick of yours up for good.
It doesn't matter if we win or lose come this Proving Ground, because it's not going to change two simple facts:
I'm better than you- and I will beat you to retain the X-Factor Championship.
If that upsets you? Tough shit, sweetie. Let's get this thing over with as soon as possible. Just try not to hold me back. Honestly? I'd prefer if you just stayed out of the ring while I handle the actual wrestling part, because let's be honest- no one wants to see you further embarrass yourself than you already do.
